SPOILER WARNING FOR US VIEWERS!

Man I was gonna wait till tomorrow to post my comments, but I just couldn't wait.

If you thought Tuesday's episode was sad....Wednesday's will leave you in even worse shape.

This is of course the episode where John finally lets go and Marlena (and everyone) says goodbye to him.

Deidre Hall was AMAZING, especially in her final scene with John...it was so good because the emotion was SOOOOOOO real...SO heartfelt.

This is the sh*t emmy's were made for!!

I have felt drained all day because of the 2hrs i spent watching DAYS today.

If ever there was en episode for DAYS to not just be nominated for, but WIN the Drama Series emmy...this is it!

If only the voters would put aside their bias and voting for people within their network and vote based on the tapes in front of them. Err. Hopefully the critical praise will be to much for them to not actually watch and do their jobs next year.

It IS a great episode...I've already seen it as well. Deirdre Hall is excellent as are Martha Madison and Lauren Koslow (yes, at long last Ms Koslow got to ACT).

Deirdre Hall is actually quite powerful and subtle, she doesn't overblow her emotion at all. She's just powerful and raw and present in the final scene. It's really quite a realistic scene...as well, whoever arranged the heart rate machine did a fantastic job, that bit gave me chills (you'll understand what I mean when you see it!)

In a perfect world, DAYS so would win the 07-08 Emmy for Outstanding Drama simply for submitting this episode. The travesty that is this nomination process and stupid NBC for having one soap.

I can't wait for tomorrow! Koslow is on? Oh yeah I'm so gonna watch.

I'm guessing this episode will be a keeper. I couldn't rewind over today's episode so I think I'm gonna make this tape a DAYS best week ever tape.

One small glimmer of hope could be Y&R throwing some votes DAYS way because they are both Sony productions.

I should add that Peter Bergman told Martha Madison after this years Emmys that he really liked her work so that could help her, hopefully I know its a long shot.

MY GOD!

The dialouge is PHENOMINAL in those scenes....ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS.

"You'll have your arms wide open, waiting.....I'll be there...You'll be taking care of me again (that line BROKE my heart)....sleep...I'll see you in forever", cue to John who dies right after she says these words to him.

This is one of Deidre Hall's finest moments IMO...she played it as realistically as you can get and for a soap that is normall overly melodramatic, it is quite a welcomed surprise.

Hogan is a GENIUS for this scene...this is the best written scene of DAYS I think I have ever watched.

    • Ann Williams was the first Maggie Powers on The Doctors but left to have a baby. Maggie was successfully recast so Ann picked up the role of Eunice (Jo's sister on Search for Tomorrow) and played that role for 10 years before being killed of in 1976. That led to her role of Margo on EON.
    • Looking at those totals it seems most contract actors are on a 1 or 2 week average guarantee. I assume contracts are still operating on 13 week cycles so you would have to know the particular actors contract starting date to work out their guarantee. The question remains as to what actors listed as contract are actually recurring? Bryton ?
    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.
