October 7, 200718 yr Member Thanks to Alvin(Y&RWorldTurner) http://www.soapcentral.com/days/news/2007/1008-halloween.php Marlena's Possession To Be Rebroadcast for Halloween Posted Friday, October 05, 2007 8:50:18 PM SOAPnet will re-broadcast three episodes from 1995 when Marlena's soul was taken over by the devil. What's, um, possessed them to do that? It's all part of a Halloween mini-marathon airing later this month on the all-soaps cable channel. Celebrate Halloween with one of the most talked about storylines in soap opera history -- the possession of Days of our Lives' Marlena Evans. This Halloween, SOAPnet, the all-soaps cable channel, will air a mini-marathon of three vintage DAYS episodes from 1995 that were part of daytime's answer to the motion picture thriller, "The Exorcist." These three episodes are sure to put a chill into your regular soap viewing. For long-time Days of our Lives fans, this is a chance to relive episodes from over 12 years ago. For newer DAYS viewers or soap fans that have never had a chance to see the much talked about demonic possession episodes, here's your chance to find out what every was (and, sometimes, still is) talking about. 900pm: Episode #7,528 Original Airdate: May 12th, 1995 Kristen is on to Marlena. Meanwhile, Marlena morphs into a panther and has a swarm of bees attack Shawn. 1000pm: Epsode #7,531 Original Airdate: May 17th, 1995 Marlena's loved ones see her levitate. When they try to talk to her, she responds as the devil. Everyone decides that it's time to perform an exorcism. 1100pm: Episode #7,570 Original Airdate: July 18th, 1995 While Marlena's friends and family thinks she's dead, John fights the devil for Marlena's soul. The marathon airs October 28th on SOAPnet beginning at 900pm Eastern and Pacific. Check your local listings for the channel in your area.
October 7, 200718 yr Member Ooh, I'm excited. I've seen little bits and pieces of Marlena's posession, but never full episodes.
October 7, 200718 yr Member I'll be watching, but didn't DAYS just get the Mother's Day marathon? OLTL got jack [!@#$%^&*] for their 10,000 episode (I don't think they've had any marathons) and Y&R has only gotten the Jump Into Genoa City marathon with recent episodes. Couldn't they have compiled Halloween themed episodes from each of the five shows they cover?
October 8, 200718 yr Member OLTL & AMC got the mothers day marathon last year i think it was. or they got oen for the baby swap. but other than that i dontg know of either soap getting any marathon,a side from AMC's Erica. GH has gotten brenda marathon, sonny marathon, they did like a luke & laura month, i think a jason marathon. im sure more. Days got one when it first came to the net, the days olympic marathon, and ali sweeny's sami got the mother day marathon this year. and Y&R has only got the marathon when it first came. as for a collection opf everysoaps halloween eppys marathon, it would be nice but they prob do all recent ones. im kinda suprised days isnt doing the salem stalker murders actualy. glad for something older than 10 years.

October 8, 200718 yr Member OMG, what a horrible time not to have SoapNet. Someone PLEASE get this on the torrent sites! lol.
October 8, 200718 yr Member The storyline that took DAYS to #2 in HHs. Ratings don't change the fact that it turned the show from respected and realistic to campy and ridiculous.

October 8, 200718 yr Administrator campy and ridiculous. Very true. But it was also an underlying love story between two soulmates. It's one of the many things that those "copycat" outrageous storylines didn't understood. It wasn't just a crazy storyline with the devil wreaking havoc. It was a story about a man trying to save the woman he loves. I think this storyline that is split down the middle the most by fans.
October 8, 200718 yr Member Thanks for the heads up! As far as past episodes have been shown, I still have the 1990 Cruise of Deception re-broadcast on SoapNet from 2004 and Austin and Sami's 1997 wedding. The former aired during the 2004 Olympic hiatus, the latter during a Wedding marathon. Also during the Olympic hiatus they re-aired Sami's execution, and some of the Gina and JT stuff. I know they have shown two different episodes from Austin and Sami's Vegas wedding, one episode prior to the event aired back in May, the actual wedding itself was show in a Valentine's day special marathon.
October 8, 200718 yr Member AWESOME!! It may have forever damaged the genre and helped damage Days' credibility but I loved this story so I will be watching, even though I have them on tape
October 8, 200718 yr Member Ratings don't change the fact that it turned the show from respected and realistic to campy and ridiculous. That's a matter of opinion. When I saw that story originally, I thought it brought "Days" to be the most entertaining soap EVER. And my opinion stands today, at 24. JER got me tuning in and I STAYED tuned in. So a new generation of fans did come with it and I'm sure I'm not the only one who stuck with it.
