A couple years ago, I seem to remember tournaments proposing changes happening with the majors, except as is usually the case, each major tournament set their own policy as to when the tiebreak set would kick in.

It was tested in doubles first, I think, before some tournaments adopted it in singles matches.

Wow - so I was just seeing the post about Medvedev saying the match was boring or that he was bored, then later apologizing for it.  I just don't like the way he looks, I'll be honest.  Said that in another post.  Kinda snakey, sneakin', and generally a di*k wad lookin' type.

So I am awful...I'm waiting for him to get his as* kicked and my twitter account is ready.  For an (@) at, to Martina and Chris.  And tweet to him.  "Hope you weren't bored at least."

I didn’t see the match, just some of the highlights……Shapo needs to find a way to control his emotions.  Even if he may or may not be right with the rules, you can’t let that get to you.  The skill is there but his mental toughness isn’t there right now.

Australian Open: Peng Shuai T-shirt ban reversed after outcry (yahoo.com)

Seriously.  Not to compromise the safety and comfort of the fans...???  A damned t-shirt??  Tennis Australia is totally *ucked up.  I remember when there was a lot of talk about removing its Slam status and giving it to another tournament - after this year's messes - I know there was a lot of talk on Tennis Channel or ESPN about the strides the AO has made in facilities and prize money, etc. in recent years...which made me say 'damn how bad was it down under?'  I always thought of it as the least of the 4 slams, and I see now no wonder they tossed around the idea of giving a slam to another tournament.  I remember hearing once the Italian Open wanted it or something - and someone told me Indian Wells or Miami was really high on the list.  This story just makes me angry, I don't know what else to say.  In the words of the football show, "C'MON MAN!"

Medvedev mentions Novak in his victory speech and the stadium erupts in booooooos

He then mentions Rafa and Roger and the stadium erupts in cheers.

Didn't want to quote my earlier quote about the Williams Sisters but speaking of them, their portraits are going into the National Portrait Gallery. This is so special

    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton practically twirling his moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?

    • Thanks for asking that!  Back when we had another major event upcoming (a party or the concert), I had intended to ask what everyone here was planning to wear.

    • Lol. Right?  I mean the show could have framed the 60th anniversary in a different way, but the narrative was celebrating Tom and the hospital. Also, what a weirdly sexist bunch of posts about women's nail polish.  Like, yes, this is Days problem lol.  Stacy Haiduk isn't a good Kristen because she doesn't wear nail polish?  Are we in the 1950's???
