Administrator Toups Posted August 29, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted August 29, 2011 Sharapova is already down a set! I hope she can pull this out.
Members Adam
She got it in 3 sets! I saw the first set, she looked very uncomfortable, especially serving. The wind was not doing her any favours.
Members Soapsuds
Sharapova is not the same girl who won Wimbledon. She just sucks. I am so sick of her screaming..shirking...lol I dont see her winning the tournament. Adam beat me to starting the thread...glad you did...I felt like the only one posting on the tennis threads...lol I thought there was no wind today? A perfect day for tennis. Love this tournament...probably my favorite tied with Wimbledon. Love the atmosphere and night matches. Glad Berdych won today. I wish Ryan Harrison would have won. I see Serena winning the women's side. The men's side should be fun to watch!

Members Soapsuds
Got to love this guy for kissing Monfis in the lips after the match. Good looking guy and not a bad player.
Members SnCCorinthos4ever
Yep that you do. Thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten that it started yesterday for me. Found some old photos that I took at the Aust Open some many years ago. If I remember correctly it was Pat Cash & Stefan Edberg playing doubles.

Members SnCCorinthos4ever
I will do that if I can find a scanner that scan the photos as a .jpg, as all the ones at work scan things as a .pdf, but I can always save to my photo bucket account if that is the case.
Members SnCCorinthos4ever
Here you go. Cash & Edberg are in the upper part of the court. I do have a couple where they were closer, but they weren't with this lot. I also have one of Steffie Graf from the nose bleed section of centre court but not exactly sure where that one is either.
Members beachbum
I love this tournament, I would love to see Jankovic win on the women side As for the men, I'd love someone new Either Gasquet Tsonga Fish But I still love my Djoko!!!
Members Adam
Of the top seeds today, Nadal seemed to have the most trouble. Even though he won hi 3 sets, all 3 sets were hard fought. Serena cruised to a straight set first round victory. She's looking good! I really want her to win. It will cap off her comeback.
Members Soapsuds
Tonight's matches were rather boring. I enjoyed Nalbandian's match though today.
Members Adam
Venus Williams withdrew before her 2nd round match started due to an "unspecified illness".
Administrator Toups Posted August 31, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted August 31, 2011 The French and Wimbledon women champs both lost in the 1st round. Yikes!
Members Adam
Yeah, I saw that.... always surprises at the Open. Zvonereva had alot of trouble today also in her 2nd round match, took 3 hard fought sets. I am very interested to see how Maria does tonight. Due to Serena being ranked so low (28th) they say as early as the 3rd round could see her play a top 10 seed. Yikes!
