I can't stand Joker and he continues to antagonize the fans he really wants with his yelling and screaming at them. He will never be a fan favorite like Rafa and Federer. He needs to accept that!

Another boring Wimbledon with Joker winning. At least there will be some drama with Serena going for the grand slam because the American males sure aren't bringing it.

Tomic is a very messed up person. He really isn't that good at tennis yet gets praised by the media and his Aussie mate Darren Cahill. He hasn't done anything to warrant his praising as a tennis player. Now that other Aussie players are nipping at his heals in popularity and ranking wise he has gone really upset and lashed out at the Aussie supporters for not supporting him anymore which I find very funny and absurd.

Tomic will always be your average club player and nothing more. He has too many distractions away from tennis like this one to ever become a great player. Besides he doesn't have the groundstrokes of a champion.

I think Tomic has some talent but talent isn't everything, it's all in how you manifest and grow that talent and Tomic's talent has barely gotten out of a talented Juniors status. For at least the last year or so, I've believed that both Kyrios and Kokkinakis will be better than Tomic.

If Kyrios would get focused and stop with the antics, he would already have been ranked above Tomic by now.

From the first time I saw Kokkinakis when he was still a junior playing as a replacement during the Hopman Cup, I liked his attitude. If he can learn how to play more efficiently, not get caught up in so many 5 set matches, especially in the early rounds, I think he has the ability to eventually pass both Kyrios and Tomic. I think Kokk's less efficient style of play is mainly due to his lack of experience but at what, 6 foot 3 and a nice big serve, he really shouldn't have to grind so much, particularly on faster surfaces. His ability to grind, though, is great for clay and he's had some pretty good results on that surface.

That being said, if Tomic continues along his path to nowhere, his younger mates will pass him on the way up the rankings- sooner rather than later.

I like Kokkinakis the most of the three. Tomic and Kyrios are way too immature and tank matches left and right when they don't feel like sticking out the match. Tomic against Berdych this year and Kyrios against Gasquet at Wimbledon this year. Kyrios has some good shots but that backhand of his is awful. Kokkinakis is the steadier and better player of the three IMO.

Man, we were just discussing the Aussies yesterday and now it looks like they are in trouble against Kazakhstan! Kukushkin is actually ranked higher than Thanasi but what the heck happened with Kyrios?! Looks like they are gonna have to rely on nearly retired Hewitt to try and bail them out in the doubles. Meanwhile Tomic is fresh out of the slammer, I guess.

The Aussies looked so good in the previous round, now they look a total mess!

This definitely brings some publicity to Uniqlo, I guess:

Does this mean that Kei and Novak will both be wearing Hugh Hefner style smoking jackets with their USO kits?

Not only that but Dimitrov allegedly has filed a defamation lawsuit against the Bulgarian model who is allegedly been going around saying that they slept together.  I don't think this lawsuit will get Sugarpova back.

Speaking of sexual innuendo, I'm watching this contentious Kyrgios vs. Wawrinka match and Nick, pissed and in a hail of obscenity blurted out "Sorry to tell you mate, but Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend".  I'm thinking Nick was talking about Stan's rumored fairly recent, barely legal girlfriend Donna Vekic.  At first, I wasn't sure what I'd heard but within minutes there was a Vine (with audio) all over Twitter and it sounds like what I thought.  OMG!:o

I was watching the match but feel asleep during it…LOL…woke up to it in the 3rd set with Kyrgios telling the umpire how Stan could do what he wanted and never got warned for taking too much time….then the announcers mentioned the incident but I wasn't sure what had happened….LOL

Did you see Gimblestob cheering on John during his match? That tape was hilarious and even Lyndsey Davenport didn't know what to say after watching it…LOL….proves what a Bozo Justin is….I knew he was nuts…LOL

@ Soapsuds, I went to bed soon after I posted this but I'm eating breakfast, checked social media and Nick is STILL Trending!!

I saw parts of the Pospisil/Isner match but Tsonga/Andujar was going on at the same time, so I was going back and forth between the two matches but mostly watching Tsonga.  I'm glad I missed Gimme's antics (LOL).  I knew  Justin was too much about himself when I was reading a book about the Women's tennis tour called Venus Envy and he mentions that he thought Venus was into him and sounded hurt when he came to the realization that she really just wanted to play tennis with him (they were doubles partners at the time).  And recently someone posted a "throwback photo" of Justin with his arms tightly around the waist of Venus Wiliams, I found it a bit creepy since, I mean, she was still a teenager!

Here's video of the Kyrgios incident and the very brief on court interview:

I have to say that the Aussie players are the worse….and yet we have Darren Cahill pimping them to the hills….Kyrgios and Tomic's behavior on and off the court are just terrible. Who wants to root for players like them?

Sugarpimp needs to get a man who has more money than she does.  This way, she might have someone coming from an honest place.

Are you guys loving Bougie's continued crash and burn?  America's non American princess can't buy a match.

Andy and Kim are expecting.  Congrats!

It's kind of weird that Lleyton is now the elder statesmen with his history (some unsavory rumors about what facilitated his breakup with Clijsters, not to mention that racially incendiary incident that he instigated with James Blake at the U.S. Open) but I guess time has matured him, so maybe there is hope for Kyrgios.  What I do not like in equal measure to Nick's antics are the people on social media who use this as a pretext to hurl racist remarks against Kyrgios (e.g. someone posted that '...you can take the boy out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the boy...").  Kyrgios' behavior has nothing to do with his color or his ethnicity.

I feel bad for Kokk being dragged into this whole thing and part of me wishes that Vekic would tell everyone that she has no ring on her finger so who she sleeps with is nobody else's concern but hers but I wish Stan would stop playing victim on social media because his life has been a mess for months and he plays the victim every single time.

I wonder what Stan's estranged soon to be ex wife things of all this.  Could it be...?

    • Errol already confirmed she is back at Y&R and in a non-producing role; this alludes to she is not credited for the role she has.
    • I don't think Lisa served a purpose after the serial killer storyline. The writers never gave her anything to do but be Vicky's nemesis. Joanna Going deserved better. Another example of a character taking over the show and then the writers not having a longterm plan for the character.  Exhibit B: Sally Spencer. Such a missed opportunity. It really angers me how they misused her. She could sing and act and they just threw her away in that sexist nonsense storyline. Once the story was over, they wrote her off. The McKinnons should have lasted for years. I will give the show credit for how they introduced Sandra Ferguson as Amanda. I thought it was expertly done. She comes in and she immediately connected to RKK's Sam. She has chemistry with Matthew and she has realistic conversations with MAc and Rachel. That's how it is done.
    • Great points, and it has not completely vanished. Leslie on Beyond the Gates fits the trope (she's still not over that Ted lovin' two decades later), though I will say there does seem to be an effort to make her more complex.
    • I understand why people speculate, but I have to say it doesn’t sound very plausible that Jill Farren Phelps would be working at Y&R in any uncredited role. CBS daytime shows are tightly bound by union contracts and corporate oversight, and that kind of informal arrangement would be a major liability in 2025. Before the mergers of SAG-AFTRA and the two WGA branches, it may have been easier to hire someone quietly or off the books. But those days are behind us. With digital payroll, tighter pension tracking, and increased scrutiny from legal and compliance departments, it’s just not the kind of thing anyone can get away with anymore. Most union members, especially producers nearing retirement, would not risk their eligibility or benefits to take an uncredited role. The Producers Guild of America is also very clear about crediting. To even receive the PGA mark, a producer has to be verified through a formal review process. According to their credit certification guidelines (source), "only individuals who performed a majority of the producing functions on a motion picture or television production" are eligible for credit, and those credits must be official and recorded. If someone is functioning in that capacity, they are not supposed to be uncredited. Studios that are union signatories, like CBS and Sony, know better than to skirt those rules. If anyone has a legitimate, primary source confirming that CBS is hiring someone like Phelps in an uncredited production role, I’d honestly be curious to read it. But without that, this just feels like rumor—not reality.
    • I keep thinking about the persistent trend of eroticizing mental illness on Guiding Light. Sonni and Annie were never more compelling, or more attractive to the show, than when they were manic. It played into a recurring theme: strong women undone by their unhinged reaction to sex. The writers were likely inspired by Basic Instinct and the broader wave of neo-noir films in the late '80s and early '90s, where female sexuality was often equated with instability. The result was a crude portrayal, not just of mental illness, but of womanhood itself. Both Sonni and Annie were introduced as sharp, capable women, brought in specifically as formidable antagonists to Reva. They were logical and composed, standing in contrast to Reva’s emotional volatility. That difference made them threatening, but not especially “sexy”—until desire became their undoing. In a very male fantasy, their strength unraveled the moment they slept with Joshua. As soon as they got a taste of Lewis lovin’, they spiraled into scheming lunatics, willing to torch everything to hold on to him. It was part of a larger trend in the culture. Fatal Attraction, Single White Female, and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle all traded on the idea that female desire was dangerous, barely held in check, and always teetering on the edge of madness. Looking back, it's a pretty grim trope. And while it's not completely vanished, I'm grateful we don't see it quite as often today.
    • Elements of it were silly, but it was a small price to pay to get Zas back. I should say there's a difference between in town and out of town returns. It's understandable for Roger to skulk around town in a bad wig and clown suit when he's in Springfield and running the risk of bumping in to people he knows.  Taking us out of town to find someone always has a short shelf life. Then it usually becomes about another character knowing X is alive but determined to keep them out of Springfield. Like Alan discovering Amish Reva. I don't know how long it went on, but it was probably twice as long as necessary.
    • Elizabeth Dennehy complained on the Locher Room about how ridiculous so much of the writing was for Roger's return. She laughed at so much of Roger's antics and how it was hard for her to take them seriously. Probably another reason she was fired as she didn't play the game.
    • Only thing I enjoyed was Abby / Olivia, etc., and the addiction storyline. Otherwise, I could do without the season.
    • Right? Vanessa had a ball gown for every occasion.
    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
