Good show today!

Nick did a good job of standing up to Jett and Willow today, but after tomorrow I forsee he becomes much darker and angsty. That would be great for slowing down CHICK who I love! If he backs away from Chelsea after what he does, but keeps coming to her rescue, remember Dr. Robert is still out there! and plane loads of drunk rich guys. This could be a really good story!

So there seems to be something cooking with Jeremy and Chelsea . It seems Jett thinks Jeremy is a good guy so maybe he will turn out to be OK. Doesnt he have secrets or something?

How long was Anna on the show after Tony left in 86? cause I got vibes when EJ mentioned Tony had no children. With LH coming back as Anna, could a long-lost child be far behind? Someone raised in Europe, perhaps with Stephano's knowledge? Could be good!

Another fun episode.

I wasn't sure about Jett Carver based on Friday, but I think he'll be OK when not in Jeremy scenes. I like Nick but I'm OK with a Chelsea having another love interest while Nick works through the post-Willow crap. BTW, thanks for the push in the previews, Nick! You're our hero! I totally forgive you now for screwing the mother of the girl you claimed to love.

As for the rest of the show... I know today was just a lot of talking (not one slap or punch in this episode for the first time in a while... did you miss it? I kind of did) but they gave us specifics in the dialogue. Even if it's history I already know about what the Dimeras did to Sami's family and how Tony's failed relationship with Kristen affected him and how E.J. was conceived as a Stefano scheme, I enjoy seeing history acknowledged in any shape or form just because it helps to reassure me they are making at least somewhat of an effort to remain true to the past of these characters and the show even as there is going to be quite a bit of rewritten history and some head-scratching chronology in this storyline.

Yay for Lucas already being written as the overprotective husband standing in the way of Sami getting what she wants and unable to keep her safe. There was one line from Lucas in that scene though that just stuck with me for how jarring it was. I wonder what the line was supposed to be because this makes no sense: "He gave you a choice... throw yourself at that piece of garbage or save my life and you saved my life" Whatever the case, interesting they have Lucas saying what Sami did was a CHOICE. I like this, but I'm sure others don't.

EJ and Tony are simply HOT in this sibling rivalry thing. For the first time today, Tony started to push it with me for how over the top he is (there was one moment he reminded me of someone holding "the precious" in Lord of the Rings) but the dialogue was so sharp in setting up the rest of this story with talk about EJ not having Sami in this or any other lifetime that I'll let it go, especially any time he sees fit to conjure up images of EJ making love on a bed of rose petals.

Finally, the weird music they play in Dimera scenes (pretty sure it started at the Maison Blanche honeymoon) needs to stop. Is it supposed to be scary? Because it kind of just makes me giggle.

Seriously, they should give Suzanne a storyline! or at least tie her into this Dimera storyline as a supportive player.I cant understand why they dont use her, when she proved she can do amazing stuff when they write for her something other then being the restaurant owner or aunt.

I really like willow..when she's anywhere but with Nick.I dont understand why they stuck her in the Chelsea/Nick story, since she dont work there.I am going to miss her!

good show today.Days is really getting better toward the summer (well, minus the boring chelsea/Slutnie/Jermy/Jett/Nick story),I'm looking forward to it and hope they wont ruin it along the way.

I haven't hated Bart yet, so hopefully Rolf stays to a minimum. They need some doctor/scientist guy to be around given they're dealing with stem cells and the like....so they decided a ressurect a "favourite."

    • I know this is probably heresy and this isn't the B&B thread, but I think Susan Flannery and Stephanie were highly overrated and that KKL was extremely underrated during the same period.
    • That is fair, but I just want to see something dramatic and messy (like another poster mentioned). Plus, we know and like Kat, Jacob, and Naomi, so it would be more interesting. Hayley was already a homewrecker when we met her, and her limited backstory was all exposition. As far as young love, I would have Tyrell fall for the daughter or son of a rival congressman/woman of Martin's. Try a classic soap opera Romeo and Juliet story with a DC twist.
    • That's an interesting point. I generally think of Long as taking inspiration from Tennesse Williams and other Southern writers.  The only one that comes close for CBS soaps may be Lucinda Walsh or Sally Spectra, and maybe those grotesque later years of Stephanie Forrester where she kept beating people up and attacking them with canes.
    • @alwaysAMCKim Zimmer is also not very reliable when it comes to dates and facts about the show. If you go in what that in mind, it'll be ok. She get things wrong. She was so angry at Ellen Wheeler that the anger comes off the page. She blamed Wheeler for decisions that John Conboy had made. She also thinks Paul Rauch was the show's best producer. As @P.J.points out, Zimmer's acting range far surpasses Lucci's, but it still felt that the writers just kept Reva the same mental age for the rest of the series. Long loved the whole damaged Southern belle routine.  Zimmer was still doing the red dress thing although to her credit she was not doing a whole storyline about joining a showgirls troupe the way Lucci did in her late fifties/early sixties (I'm too lazy to do the googling and the math).  I believe Zimmer is immensely talented but Reva was never a character that I rewatch much if at all. When I go back and watch GL clips, it's rarely any clips related to Reva. I will rewatch Michelle Forbes's storylines and work for example, but if Zimmer is in some of it, I almost always FF.  I just don't care about Reva during these storylines. I'm on Sonni's side even though I know how it turns out. While GL was on, I found the repetitive nature of Reva's storylines annoying even when I didn't watch the show and just read summaries. I think Zimmer deserved better material; I think of her tapes when she won her third Emmy. Stellar work but then it was right back to Josh/Reva. I think of her work on Designing Women, and how she could hit different notes and was so effective.
    • Just some clarification: David Hasselhoff was hubby #2! Per Google, she was married to another man in October 1981 and divorced him in 1982. So, Michael E. Knight was hubby #3. Here I thought Vincent Irizarry was still married. Shrug. Maybe he dated Hickland in between her marriages to MEK and hubby #4, Todd Fisher? (Yes, brother to Carrie and son of Debbie Reynolds...)

Vincent Irizarry throws in a quick mention that he was dating Catherine Hickland when he first heard about Marj.  I wonder when this was..? She was married to David Hasselhoff for a good bit of the 80's. And then MEK for most of the 90's. Fun fact... David Hasselhoff played Michael Knight on Knight Rider. Then she married an actor named the same as her first husband's character.
    • I agree with a lot of what has been mentioned before me. I think BTG desperately needs another family.  Character ages still throw me. There have been several times where I still think Martin is Vernon and Anita's child and then a character says something and I'm like oh right. It doesn't help that he hardly socializes with his parents or Kat. I do not care about the secondary characters... Ashley, Derek, Vanessa, Doug, Pamela, Joey, Jan, Mona, the gym dude can all go and I wouldn't care. The exception being Shanice. There is a decent hospital set and police station set but most characters have other jobs. They could have easily had characters interact at work and make it seem organic. Instead they had Derek showing up at someone's work let alone a police officer to talk about his quarrel with Ashley. Also, falling into the trap of having stories that soaps no longer have the budget for. That fashion show was tragic and so was the award gala. The potential trial between Naomi and Bill being dropped was probably due to lack of a courtroom set. However, how soapy would it have been if Bill had a heart attack at the trial and Naomi feeling guilty. It would have also been a way to easily redeem the character of Bill to Naomi but also Dani and Chelsea who would face what losing him would ultimately mean.
    • Not too upset with Martin and Bradley being married. It's a first for daytime, so I love that BTG came out of the gate breaking barriers. I hope that the show plays on their past in the most soapiest ways. This doesn't have to be Martin's first marriage. What if Bradley's parents were some real grifters or con artists? Does he have siblings?      I agree with/ @Cheap21    Kat gives me a smart businesswoman.  With everything she is currently dealing with I can see her becoming a shark in the boardroom. So I'm looking forward to that business storyline.
    • That's what happened with Hope Williams Brady on DAYS.  Started as rich princess, went to the police academy.   Became a cop.  Now consults for the I.S.A.
