I know Y&R has several openings, but there are people you never see, i.e. Ji Min, Colleen, Adrian, Cane, Lily. Why is that? (You only occasionally see Devon.) They are all on contract, I do believe.

Y&R just hasn't chosen to update their openings. Ji Min, Colleen, Adrian, Cane, Lily, Amber, etc. were all brought on within the last year. It took some actors (Amelia Heinle, Judith Chapman, Bryton, etc.) nearly 2 years to get into the opening.

Y&R's lazy as hell when it comes to updating their openings.

Hell, when Michelle Stafford came back in 2000, she was never included in the jazzy red background opening, it wasn't until 2003, when the current opening came about that she was included.

Anyway, I do think its about time Y&R introduced a new opening, with all their contract members. I'm tired of this cheap-looking opening they've had since 2003.

That's just extra lazy coming from Y&R - they just use show footage they already have for most of the actors in the opening. It's not like the red backdrop that required special makeup, wardrobe, etc.

LOL...Im guessing you havent watched Y&R for too long huh? It took years for them to add Jill and Katherine. For the longest time they only took people out but never anyone in. This soap is teh WORST when it comes to updates

Heh...no, actually I've been watching on-and-off for the better part of 20 years, with some breaks in the late '90s/early 2000s. I do recall them being slow before. But there's really no excuse for them not updating now...they have the easiest opening to change outside of DAYS and GL.

This new opening is the easiest to seamlessly update which makes the lack of updates even more baffling. But I think they should go back to the sexy red opening which was a great modernized take on the previous opening. What we have now works for the bland, sexless Y&R we're being given, but it certainly wouldn't fit the real Y&R.

It seems CBS as a whole is kinda lazy. If they hadn't made a new opening for ATWT Luke and Jade still wouldn't be in it.

Thats the upside for DAYS and Passions to not have their cast in the opening since they don't have to worry about changing it.

I don't think the latest opening looks cheap, but it is incredibly LAZY of them not to update the opening credits.

I loved the red opening and the porno music wasn't that bad either....I love the Nadia's Theme music though, and would miss it if they decided to get rid of it again....

The current opening isn't to bad, the lack of updates and AH and GC's shots in the opening irritate the hell out of me though.......

Oh No. That was horrible.

i am so sorry u feellike that sweet sweet cheeks. THe red opening was the best opening EVER created. Y&R at its very best and I am MAD as hell they got rid of it. But I know at the time a lot of people didnt like it though
