Hey everyone....Last week we saw the wedding and arrest of Phyllis Newman....This week we will see the focus on Ji Min, courtesy of Victor and Michael.

As always, let's discuss what we liked, what we didn't like and what could have been left on the cutting room floor on this week's Young and the Restless

I can't wait to watch this week, and for a change I am going to watch the whole week, the spoilers have me really wanting to watch for a change, plus hopefully we get to see more of Nikki's new grown bitchy side, that I am loving so much. Also great to know that Ji Min is going to be on this week, out of all the new characters I love him the most.

Nikki is a total hater and a snob, but this is not Nikki Newman that we're seeing. I don't like this senate story at all. I'd much rather a Jabot/NVP/Newman war or something that would better utilize the characters and their relationships. They need to boost Jill's role in Jabot as well as Gloria. It's like Jill is the hired help with no connection to Jack. The two were knocking boots for heavens sake! They talk like they don't even know each other.

Oh back to that hater Nikki, she works better in stories that focus on her insecurity. I will never stop wishing they had put her with Bobby, I also think Hope is another good alternative since Victor, Jr. should definitely be brought back. Even if it isn't romantic, Victor's respect for her while treating Nikki like catshit would drive her insane.

I am really looking forward to this week's Y&R. I really enjoyed the show last week and I am hoping that the momentum continues. And I do love Ji Min especially with Jill!!!

Between Y&R and Days getting better, I am starting to get into soaps again!

Huh - another newbie in Genoa City!?

Thank god, LML doesn't even bother to introduce them. With the likes of Ben Hollander et al. she'll soon be able to fill a totally different show. Wait she already does. Never mind.

As for Daniel's new porn-quest: D'OH!

All bad stories on this crapfeast-show last forever whereas the good stuff is hardly ever seen - WHY???

These new characters are getting ridiculous. Karen was introduced a couple weeks ago and what do we know other than her name? What is her personality type? Same questions for Ben! There is no character driven reason to bring these people on, they are just brought to serve the plot.

Worst part? I think he'd be a good idea for Phillip. Not only is he a professional, but it would connect him to a core family, he'd have a purpose and I do believe this would take Phillip closer to his real age.

Hating Daniel's porn because there is no reason behind it. They should've scheduled the Alex reveal later and have Lily and Daniel grow apart, having him turn to porn. Then as they get back together he continues to spiral out of control and Lily finds out. As it is, he has a porn addiction for absolutely ZERO reason.

The Lauren/Gloria/Kevin reveal was also crap to me. When Gloria said it was all Jack's fault, why didn't Lauren call her on the hypocrisy? Jack did nothing wrong, GLORIA did. The Victor/Michael taking down Jack scenes made no sense as they reveal that it's really Gloria's fault. Will Jack still be blamed for her crimes or will Gloria get her much needed comeuppance?

It's better this way. No way in HELL could CK's Lily be a viable "rival" for Phyllis. No need to make the girl look like a fool. Lily and Phyllis having "pleasant" conversations is the way to go as long as CK is playing the role of Lily. Now if DS was playing fiesty Lily, I'd say let the snark begin.

    • Has anyone ever totted up how many women on GL slept with both father and son(s)? Reva gets a lot of crap for it but she's far from the only one: Claire Beth Blake Olivia Dina Did I miss anyone?
    • I think Long was probably planning to have Claire suffer from Post Partum, but she left the writing staff shortly after Claire had Michelle so that element didn't get explored. And I always assumed that when Claire returned in the late 90s/early 00s.. that she was realizing that she messed up by not staying a part of Michelle's life and became resentful/bitter over her previous choices.  That was my theory.
    • Jenn was a huge part of the success of Days back in the day, and that contribution shouldn't be dismissed.  With that said, I do think her and Jack's time on the show should remain as occasional visits/drop ins. When Missy returns to play Jenn, Jenn is back to being Jenn.   Jenn in her glory days was head strong, fiesty, and was a live wire.... and her scenes with Jack on Friday was classic Jenn with Jack being the voice of reason.   It was the foundation of their relationship back in the day.
    • Claire was always tightly wound, I think what Long was going to do is to throw the three into this impossible situation with no bad guys, Mo, knowing how to take care of kids from growing up but unable to conceive and Claire, who didnt know how to take care of kids and was totally focused on her career, gets knocked up.  Ryder took Claire off the deep end as a convenient way to make story for characters he wasnt interested in (though Pratt blames McTavish) with little effort. It was later explained to be a brain tumor (though why was she a bitch again when she returned?) \ Claire did sleep with Rick, she was his first!
    • I'm sorry, truly I am, but this literally made me LOL. Tempting fate, much?

    • Oh, I have very little doubt that Missy feels some way personally and privately.  Donna was just saying she actively spoke out against Days in public in reference to the gay storylines, which she did not. I don't have super strong feeling about Jen one way or another.  She was always a side character to me.  I still think Missy is Jen regardless of her stupid beliefs.
    • I hated the swap-over; Clayton Norcross, to me, was far superior in the role of Thorne than Jeff Trachta ever was. And the recast left me disliking Thorne when he was the superior son to me. As for Teri Ann Linn, I feel like she got the raw deal. Kristen was very clear as a forefronting character, especially in her rivalry with Stephanie, and it feels like she was dropped off for Felicia, and they never returned it. Not to mention the subpar recast with Tracy Melchior in 2001. Someone like Brenda Epperson (ex-Ashley, Y&R) would've been more suited for that role.
    • I just remember when Leo was marrying Craig (?), Greg Rikaart stated a line and made direct eye-contact with Melissa Reeves, and when the camera cut to her, she looked away.

Rikaart had a mission that day, and he succeeded.
