At times, a part of me thinks that everything that she does is for a reaction from someone else...

You're not the only one.

An out-of-breath and disheveled Britney Spears almost lost it when she learned she might miss her flight to Los Angeles on Friday.

Carrying two small bags, Spears, 25, ran through Miami International Airport to catch her American Airlines flight. But when she arrived at the gate and handed her boarding pass to the ticket agent, she was informed that the walkway had been retracted from the plane and the flight was closed.

"She was really upset," says David Paulsen, a passenger at an adjoining gate. "She (said) to the agent, 'I've got to get on this plane to get home to my kids.' She looked like she was about to cry."

The ticket agent called the pilot and requested that Spears be allowed on the flight. She told the pilot, "'I've got Britney Spears here and she wants to get on the plane,'" Paulson says. After a pause, the agent said, "'No, I'm serious. Can we get her on the plane?'" A few seconds later, the agent smiled and nodded to Spears, and the walkway was extended again.

Because the flight was nearly full, Spears had no available seat in first class. Instead, the singer took a seat in the last row of coach.

An American Airlines spokesperson tells PEOPLE that it's not unusual for the airline to allow late arrivals on the plane as long as it won't delay the flight. The final decision is left up to the cockpit crew and gate agents.

As a visibly relieved Spears was about to board the plane, she stopped to give an autograph to the agent, and then turned to the crowd of onlookers and waved. "God bless!" she said as she got on the plane and headed towards home.

:( I want to give her a hug.

I really hope this is rock bottom for her so she can start climbing her way back up.

She's a good girl but very misguided and I can't help but root for her to turn her life around.

Oh, lord. I wouldn't pay five bucks for a single strand of Britney's hair.

Not while she's still alive anyway.

Who do you even post if it's going to be negative?

I mean......really?!?

Sometimes I think you do it just to agg people on. Enough is enough.

Can you not take humor when you see it? Grow some thicker skin or something, but leave me the hell alone.

THANK YOU!!!

But apparently now, just simply posting your opinion if it's politically incorrect has become a crime, according to some people.

I'm tired of it myself. But for some reason, the media has a bizarre fixation on trainwrecks. Why, I'll never understand.

Oh for heaven's sake! go to The Data Lounge if you want to express your moral outrage. This site has been more sympathetic than even the "Entertainment Shows"

The last time I checked, expressing my opinion, even if it's "negative", was within my rights.

: I made two posts about her, that's it....

Yeah, but people who are grasping at straws will use the tiniest little thing against you...

I just find it funny that someone who hates Britney so much has the most posts in this thread.

The last time I checked, expressing my opinion, even if it's "negative", was within my rights.

"Within my rights"....I never understood that saying on a message board. Are you going to get arrested? Is someone going to sue you?

:)
