Ok, I got that totally wrong, lol. ATWT got a 2.8 on Monday :o:o Nice little tie between the soaps this week, I would have expected to see large gains, seeing as all the soap boards were all busier than normal.

Was that Monday, Pecks first full day on the show??

This also proves that ATWT has the fanbase, but the writers aren't good enough to keep the fanbase watching everyday.

Was Monday some huge snow day across the US? It looks like it's the highest rated day for every soap. I mean, c'mon, a 2.8 for ATWT? Something had to be going on. There's another spike for ATWT on Thursday, which I can only figure was due to Katie getting Simon's letter.

Yep...Monday was Peck's first full day. I hate the implications.

I've got no problem with throwing a story Luke's way. Luke's a member of a core family who hasn't been shoved down my throat for the past year or so VH has been on. It's not my favorite, but it's better than kowtowing to certain actors who are only going to stick around for six or seven months *coughSimonF*ckingFrasiercough* and promote stories that ham-string my favorite actress *coughMauracough* with an actor who was so clearly unmeshable with her. (And for the people who think I'm crazy...too bad, you know I'm right. Paul Leyden is better at light comedy and clearly floundered trying to give Simon some new found depth.) And there's nothing wrong with giving Luke fans what they want. (I'd even give RH fans what they want...a clearly more malicious Paul.) They're already invested in the show. I don't want to see Peck fans pumping up the numbers, expecting to see Peck shirtless every. freakin. day. while "romancing" Katie.

There's only SO much I can take. LOL...

*sigh* And it's only the first week without Maura.

Very very disappointed by Guding Light's ratings. I thought they would be a whole lot better. I am happy for some of the highs they hit, but Tammy's death and the 70th anniversary should have been higher. The threads for those 2 shows were the most discussed episodes of GL in a long long long time.

Love that GH was able to pull another 3.0 this week. Things are looking so good for them. I love the show despite the negativity that surrounds the show. I think it is lots better than it has been in a long time. I am disappointed by Friday's numbers but hopefully they will rebound.

Three 4.5's for Y&R is really good. Glad to see them holding on too. Another show that I love so much right now.

ATWT I am surprised by their rating. It was a lot better last week for me, but I think their rating needs to be a little lower. That 2.8 for Monday really surprises me but as said it shows that ATWT's fans they picked up this summer are still there - they just need a reason to tune in. That was better than they got for MLK day.

As to Days I know I will be attacked for this, but I didn't find last week that good. In fact several days were rather bland. I didn't expect them to go up but I didn't expect them to fall either. Hogan was really on a roll in December but devoting the month of January so much to the younger set was just not good IMO. I just didn't enjoy the month of shows that much, and sorry but so many of the ones who were featured this month were new faces - even Shawn but he had a new face. Hogan needs to retool and rethink. IMO I agree with many others that I have read in the last few days who say that all shows have to think of the future, but Days is still trying to lure back viewers and they need the familiar. January has been a month that the most often seen performers have been with the show for about a year or less. You have to balance the new with the old. And sorry in January I didn't see that on Days. And it did hurt my enjoyment of the show esp. after coming off what was a pretty good December.

I am also missing Maura alot, I have been missing her for months, because of Simon, it just was not the real Carly, I want our Carly back the one that loves Jack and only Jack, hopefully when she returns that will be the first thing JP does is get them back together. And I hope with all the hope there is that Simon does not come back at least not this year anyway. Simon pretty much took this show and turned it into a joke, I know alot of other factors did also, but it was around the time of his return that the show has gone down the tubes, and now that he is gone the show seems to be on somewhat of an upswing, not great by any means but it is alot better than it was.

Scratch that I hope it is not the first thing JP does, because hopefully JP won't be writing the show by then, so I hope whoever is writing the show then starts off by getting Jack and Carly back together again.

Exactly, that 2.8 proves the viewers are still there, its just ATWT is not really giving out what these viewers what to see, 2.8 is the highest rating of ATWT for any show last year, and that only happened a few times, once in May for Luke's coming out and I think it happened twice during the Lake Raven storyline. The viewers are there, JP or whoever just need to get the storylines back on track and take all of the filler storylines out of the show, though I am enjoying the show better now than lately, there is still just way to much filler stuff happening, the reason the show is better now is because finally Craig is not on everyday, and is not dominating every single storyline, Simon is gone, plus it seems like finally some of the more sidekick storyline are finally getting some airtime, like Casey's storyline it is really good now, and so is Lily/Faith storyline, I am even really intrigued by Emily's storyline. Now if we could just get Will/Gwen/Iris/Adam off the screen, it would be a vast improvement, because those four are nothing but filler to me, they don't have a real storyline other than to bore me. I will add that bringing Brad back was a huge mistake and really did not go towards improving the show at all, but hopefully TPTB will realize this soon and get rid of the character, before he does to much damage.

I am not going to go into spoilers here, but just from the different things I have seen, I have some hope that the show is even going to be getting better, at least I am hoping anyway.

Looks like GH is getting a good jumpstart on sweeps... yesterday's episode was pretty tense, so I'm pretty sure they'll stay steady or go up.

Days, on the other hand, seems to have some sweeps tactic that is going above my head.

I hate to say it but DAYS deserves the drop. I have nothing against Madison and Beemer but the 'Shelle Show' is not a recipe for ratings success. Neither is having Sami constantly taunted by her rapist. The show needs to focus on its MONEY couples (B&H, J&M, S&K and LUMI). I know Hogan is constrained by the budget but you need to spend money to make money. I cannot see the show breaking the 2.5-2.7 range as long as it keeps the focus on Shelle/Phillip/Nick/Chelsea.

    • The last few episodes have been good; the acting, the emotions. It's nice to see that GH can still do classic soap opera. I do wish that they would respect their long term audience more and do it without all the silly rewrites though. And where do they go from here? I'm a bit pessimistic and fully expect the show to go back to the drama-less, boring mess it usually is. I'm giving it a month, tops.

    • I can see why the Sam/Amanda story went downhill so fast. Thomas Gibson was a terrible replacement. I don't remember the circumstances of RKK quitting  (if his contract was over or if the departure was more acrimonious), but Gibson just sucks the energy out of every scene. He has no chemistry with anyone.
    • They have renewed my interest back into Hayley. I hope they keep writing her like today. She was fun and looked fabulous. Facts on top of facts! And that is the area that I want them to deep dive into more.  I forget what her purpose was for even visiting him at this point. Leslie had a great May but she can not do more of the same in June and July. I became very excited to see them interact. I don't know where it is going, but it could be a joy to watch.
    • Dani and Doug interacted for the first time I believe. Could that be indicator that they will hookup? As wacky and drama filled as Dani is I think she'd have a lot more respect for Doug than Vanessa does and Vanessa really needs a dose of her own medicine.
    • I remember it was reported at the time that the character of Noah was originally planned for Harley but plans changed.   Beth should've shared her experience as well.
    • I really hope they fix this soon.
