I hate the idea of her going to GH though. I'd like to see if she could actually create some buzz for one of the shows that are really down in the ratings like OLTL, ATWT or GL. I'd love to see GL get some really controversial kick ass storylines and come back to life again.

[s.W.S.N.B.N.] is an intelligent woman whom, I think, given free reign on a daytime soap, could really draw in a big audience. She sounds like she has fresh, topical ideas that really have "never been done on daytime before". ANY soap opera that could get her would be very lucky.

Kenny, I'm right there with you on this. In what everyone sees a a dying genre, what we really need are more people like [!@#$%^&*]. 'Tis why the soaps took off in the late 70s through most of the 80s, because people like Boof were not afraid to speak their mind. They bring a reality to the front that just seems to be lacking in daytime overall. Boof has such a plethora of stuff in that *crazy* mind of hers, that TPTB are complete and utter TOOLS for not taking her more seriously. They are shooting themselves in the foot for overlooking people like her, and killing the genre in the process.

Would the networks really want someone who'll tell it like it is? We all know they want puppet masters. IMO, the most outspoken writer on soaps right now (as in currently credited on the writing team) is Hogan Sheffer.

I agree with you Julia. I'm biased b/c GH is my favorite show and therefore I want it to always be great, but it would be nice to see AMC or OLTL or GL telling the socially relevant character driven storylines that they were once well known for.

There was a time when Agnes Nixon and Harding Lemay were doing just what you described above--stories that had never been before.

I think she may be onto something when she says that soaps have to be updated to compete with cable. It's time for a new revolution in

soaps if they want to attract more than just the die hard soap fans.

Weak writing kills soaps.

This woman, can you imagine her stories? Can you imagine her writing, her dialogue? The dialogue she put in characters mouths last summer on Days was unbeatable! Full of freshness, intensity... and she was only credited for a short time.

Not only would her stories be strong, they would respect history, she'd bring any show she wrote back to the core of what it always was and always should be -- family.

That's not what the networks seem to want nowadays, though. A real soap opera visionary, and they toss her out the window. Ugh!

NO! Give that asshat David Kreizman the boot and have her work for GL. I will fight you for her. ;)

Just think, the most acclaimed soap right now--Days--is talked about because they of the well-written, CONSISTENT, traditional drama interspersed with a more comedic flare. Gee golly gee. Actually doing what the fans want? That's surely a novel concept.

woop, woot, let's all have a big [s.W.S.N.B.N.] Party :), at this point, I just want her on ANY soap so that she can unleash herself on the masses....A trend was started once before in this genre and it paid off, but the time has come for CHANGE, and Boof, time and time again, shows that she has what it takes.

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
