As for Nicole, she's a good actress but Pehlprey and Zimmer dwarf anyone with their intensity.

Has Alan showed nay remourse or is he just a happy pig as usual?!

I wasn't feeling Nicole today...I hate those backstories about the puppy and when Lizzie came back from Arizona, stop trying to push it odwn our throats!!

And someone needs to show this regime what a car / coma victim looks like!!

I love the lady playing Cassie! I know I am not a daily GL viewer, but she often makes me forget Wright once played the role.

How are Harley's daughter, Daisy or Susun or whatever the hell her name is, related to Tammy? Cousins? Whaaa?

I agree about NF and her lackluster portrayal as Cassie.

I wish someone would put a hit out on Remy because the guy playing him is just awful.

I am loving Jon going after Lizzie.

Nicole Forrester isn't terrible, but she's certainly not as good as she should be.

When I see her in the role, I think middleaged stay at home mom with no fire, no passion, no sex appeal, no drive... nothing. She's just boring!

I've always loved Laura Wright, and I've always considered her to be one of daytime's most fierce actresses, and I remember just LOVING her as Cassie. Sparring with Dinah was fabulous! And there's no way in a million years that I would consider that Cassie to be the same character that Nicole Forrester is playing. The difference is like night and day.

Forrester isn't Cassie to me. She's just a new character who happens to have the familiar name.

As for her performance today, as I said... she wasn't terrible, but she wasn't nearly as good as she should've been. If she were playing another character, it would've been fine. But as the character of Cassie, I would've expected more fire.

Is Gillespie going to be a long term character?? What a way to bring him on if so. :blink:

I have mixed feelings on NF. There are times I really like her, but I think Laura would have done better with Tammy's death. I guess we'll see how much the writers give her to work with going forward. So far, Tammy's death is reminding me of Jen's death on ATWT. It's more about the husband than the mother and to me that's a missed opportunity.

I can't believe you guys think THIS is lackluster. You CBS fans must be spoiled. :lol: I think she's acting her ass off and doing a pretty decent job. The line about "She always liked her. I mean likes. Likes her." was creepy and wow...a nice touch.

I love the girl playing Lizzie. She's great, as well. This show won't be the same to me without TP. He got me hooked.

Okay, so I'm watching right now... and I'm with King... NF is really good! I really liked her in those scenes with Lizzie and Jon the hospital hall...

Oh and how are Daisy and Tammy related? As far as I know, Daisy's parents are Harley and Dylan Shayne... and Tammy's are Cassie and some Rob guy... so how?! :unsure:

Daisy is Reva's grandaughter and Tammy is Reva's neice, So Daisy and Tammy are cousins through Cassie. I guess to be more clear Cassie is Dylan's aunt, so any child of his is a cousin of Tammy's. Although really I think it's a half second cousin. :lol: :blink:

Oh, I didn't know Dylan was Reva's son! I thought he was her brother! That's what confused me! Oh, ok then!

I liked the final scenes with Jon and Tammy sooo much! Tom Pelphrey will HAVE to win an emmy next year (yeah, I know it's january, but he's great!)

Oh and another thing.. It's so refreshing to see people use different cell phones! I hate that EVERYONE on DAYS uses the same cell phone...

Daisy and Tammy are related through Dylan, Reva's son, who is Daisy's biological father and Cassie's nephew. So, Daisy is Cassie's grand-niece (tee hee) and I guess that makes Daisy and Tammy cousins.

I won't go into how Daisy/Susan was once older than Tammy...

I won't say a word about this!! Even though I want to...LOL...SORAS is okay in daytime within reason, I'm still not buying Leah Bauer as a teenager, but De-SORAS is not a good thing I don't think and P&G soaps have done it quite a few times in the last few months.

For those of you who don't know, Susan/Daisy was born in either 1987 or 1988...she should be about eighteen which is her current age, but they aged Tammy so fast...it's crazy

NF isn't bad...I like her I really do and I think today it was the writing, because Cassie should be flipping smooth out and she's not!!! I like NF...she is Cassie to me...but I think her performance today wasn't top game!

They might be saving Cassie going completely crazy. Lots of people have delayed shock and reaction.

But I won't be around to see NF step up her game. All GL does is jerk its viewers around. I wanted a happy ending dammit!

I hope TP/SG get acting jobs real soon. I'd love to see them in other stuff.

Agreed, I think Blake became a woman who learned from her mistakes and grew up. I too wanted them to be the core couple after the Tori thing, as a matter of fact, around Wheeler after Simon left I wanted them to move into the Bauer house..( I would have Blake say that this is the closet thing she knew as a home )SORAS the kids, and bring Sam back..Dinah would have a very contentious relationship with her, as she would be jealous of Ross and Sam's relationship, and Blake and Dinah would have that tension (ya, know cause she killed his brother) it would be a core family that had some fissures leading to good drama. But now, Wheeler and company though the Coopers should be the core.

Agree that great minds can think alike :)
In terms of Derek, I see the show doing one of two things based on the most recent episodes that featured him.
1) They do the gradual fade-out of the character until he stops appearing and is occasionally mentioned by Jacob (i.e. still living and existing in town, just not being seen). We saw some evidence with him having a group of co workers he's friends with, plus a female co worker interested in him... so possibly we see him regain his walking and go back to his life with the Fire crew and eventually we stop seeing them on air.
2) His mentioning to Jacob that he hopes to win Ashley back signals that perhaps the dark side we saw glimpses of has been hidden and will rear itself if she appears to be moving on with a new guy.
In terms of Ashley, the show seems committed to keeping her character on the show especially since she was shown in the Thanksgiving episode having a quiet day with Jan and Mona as they discuss Black Friday shopping, food, and other day to day matters... so I think delving into her backstory in terms of who her father is would be a good place for the show to go while keeping her as a good friend to Naomi, Shanice, and a good nurse during medical stories.
Perhaps one of the children of the handsome new doctor could be her love interest down the line.

I like Barbara's long hair here. Dr. Steven Farrell didn't last very long I take it since she is re-connecting with Tom (Tom Tammi) by 1979. The actor playing Steven (Phil Peters) was the real-life husband of Lenore Kasdorf (Rita GL).

Oh, how I wish we'd gotten to see Ross deal with his teenage sons. I loved his relationships with Phillip and Sam, but he really deserved to be seen with his own kids (other than the horror that became Dinah). The boys simply disappeared off canvas after either the Nursery Stalker or the affair with Tori.

What I liked about Bloss is that I liked how they grew to be the stable couple- the closest to an Ed and Mo in their prime. Especially after the Tori story when their extra-marital exploits were in the past. I wanted them to SORAS the three kids, along with Dinah and with Phillip's family as Ross's extended family would really be solid core family material.
With that said, I was rooting against Bloss in 1999 as I really liked the Ross/India pairing-- but that just turned out to be a waste of MKA.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's

The return of sitcoms' popularity in the mid-'80s was a real thing, but the crash of the wealth-based nighttime soap genre was resonate and self-induced.

There was an effectively grim finality to the mood of the cliffhangers in the Spring of 1985: Bobby's death, the Moldavian massacre, the return of Val's babies... and they felt as if they could have ended right there (and perhaps they should have, although I would have sorely missed S10 of Dallas, S6 of FC, and Season 9 of Dynasty , and the next five years of KNOTS as they singularly maintained quality).

But, wow, these shows just fell apart post-Spring 1985. They stopped being character dramas after a while, and just started trying to "impress" viewers in some superficial way and to "fake it" somehow.

What a painful, unnecessary slide it was. But once these shows seemed to lose their identities, their sense of self, their momentum into the dung heap couldn't be slowed.
