ICAM. I quit watching ATWT after five years the week before Christmas because it was just awful. I'm really surprised GH is getting such high numbers because I am about ready to quit that too (I haven't watched it the last two days and I usually never miss a show). I don't even remember what happened last week. I think a lot of the numbers are cyclical. The ABC shows seems to score better ratings at the end of the year and then into the next year but then eventually decline again.

Good for Days.

Last week was not a big week but the fact that they are holding on to the fans they gained over the holidays is good. I always said small gains are better because they can be maintained. Days is slowly building it's audience back.

ATWT deserves it. I can't beleive I am saying that but they do. AMC has been better but they are going to really be hurting with what is coming.

GH will be fine until March. They are going to do real good with the sweeps stuff, like usual. The key will be if they can keep it up after that. They have been better but not much IMO. I' m not sure if last week warranted a 2.9 but whatever.

I am hopeful that the soaps had a high daily rating for this past Monday. I remember last year Days, GH, Y&R and some few others had huge dailies for MLK day. That should help out so hopefully that happens again. I think Days will hopefully have a +1 boost in next week's ratings. It has been a great week.

Am I the only one who is not enjoying GH now? I just don't understand what is so compelling about it. I think it has gotten a lot worse. I still can't get over medical professionals believing that Maxie was preggers and then not realizing that she wasn't when she had her "miscarriage". And that tatooed twin priest of the Manny the Psycho is ridiculous as is Carly marrying Sonny (and I actually like them together but this wedding is so contrived). I guess it shows they don't need Jax or Luke to bring in good numbers (don't get me wrong I like Jax and love Luke) but according to the numbers it doesn't matter that they aren't on.

I agree with you Darcy on this one! I don't understand it myself, the story telling s@cks. It continues to be all over the place. The whitewashing of characters past continues.... The insult of how little they use their Vet actors until they are ready to kill them off.. continues........:angry:

I don't find anything enjoyable with GH right now....... :(

same people featured over and over and vets left rotting? Sounds like ABC daytime to me!

I am always disappointed when the ABC ratings bump up, as I really want them to fix their balance problem.

Oh well. Y and R still number one in 18-49! :) As well as overall, despite the drop this week.

The viewers of OLTL must be coming back with the anticipation of the foolish foursome (John-Natty-Vega-Evangeline0 breaking up.

On a better note, Bravo to GH! My three, well four favorite couples are bringin' the pain (better ratings) SnC, Liason, SkyeLo and NEm!

The only problem is Frons still has employment!

Nice to see DAYS hold on to that 2.7, hopefully with this above average current week DAYS can slowly keep gaining viewers. I wouldn't be surprised to see DAYS get a few 2.9's for this current week. I won't hold my breath though because daytime ratings are impossible to try and understand.

Is that 2.3 for ATWT an all time low? I haven't watched ATWT in a long time and all I have seen is extreme negativity for the show, hopefully ATWT turns around soon.

I hate seeing GH so high, but that's life.

What surprises me the most that JP has been able to turn ATWT's younger cast into a boring mess. Jade, Gwen, and Will all used to interest me so much, more than any other stuff that were going on the show. However now, it seems as if they are the most boring part of the show.

Nice to see DAYS stay the same, but it doesn't deserve to be a few points lower than that trainwreck GH.

    • My god the smirking was back in full force today. He almost started smiling after Johnny mentioned he wouldn’t be there if EJ hadn’t raped Sami. I will say I did like seeing him with Dee as they’ve always had great chemistry.    They really are giving a lot of false hope with John getting better. I wish they hadn’t done that. Monday is going to be devastating. I really liked all the characters mixing and mingling today.  Nu-Rachel is still too sweet for me. Loved all the flashbacks. Everyone looked so young. Really enjoyed Brady’s scenes with John today.
    • Valerie Mahaffey Dead: ‘Northern Exposure,’ ‘Dead to Me’ Actress Was 71 Loved her. I've never seen her Doctors work.
    • Valerie Mahaffey Dead: ‘Northern Exposure,’ ‘Dead to Me’ Actress Was 71 I just loved Valerie on my early '90s TV shows. This one gets me.
    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!
