Sorry, guys, but it WILL.

Once again, what doyou think "Passions Vendetta" and "Passions Red" REALLY were about?!

To see if it WOULD work.

And it did.

Trust me, "Passions" -- or I should say, a spinoff of the show, featuring four to six characters -- WILL air on the Internet, sponsored by Garnier Fructic and other prominent "Passions" sponsors for its online ventures.

The show, with its current cast of characters, wouldn't work.

The spinoff, however, will.

True.

I'll agree that it's an experiment, to say the least. But it may work out.

The Internet and viral video are HUGE right now, and that shows no signs of changing.

I think it's a wise, innovative decision, honestly.

And the show can sustain itself if they just work off of six cast members or so.

Obviously, this wouldn't be "PASSIONS." I think that's what people are confused about. That's why they think it won't work.

No, if anything it would be a SPINOFF of the show, they're just not saying that. The show will pick up with the adventures of Simone and Rae, trying to be lesbians in a conservative community; Simone trying to be good again, while Tabitha, evil again, tries to sabotage her (Juliet would stay); or it will focus on the trials and tribulations of the Kayguel relationship. It's "passions" lite, whatever it is.

The storylines that get the most buzz are Theresa/Ethan/Gwen (eh, Jared) and Luis/Fancy/Sheridan...and (to a slightly lesser extent) Charity/Miguel/Kay/Fox because they are on every.single.episode.

JER would need to change focus, starting in April, to incorporate the supporting characters more into the overall show in order that viewers care enough to follow Simone, Jessica, Paloma, etc. online.

Take the following rumor with a HUGE grain of salt...I doubt it but wanted to post the rumor:

A poster on another board claims to have a friend who knows several people at Fox. She claims that Fox is interested in purchasing Passions and would start airing it at the beginning of its fall season.

She says she does not know any of the specifics, just what her friend has told her.

I'm not sure how I feel about this rumor.

On the one hand, I'd LOVE to see "Passions" live on. After all, Lindsay Korman Hartley is just BEGGING TO revive the genre by being the next Susan Lucci, losing the Daytime Emmy for several years that people gather around the set just to watch her lose it again! (Although I'd be pullin' for ya, girlfriend!) Plus, my dream since "Passions" premiere was to see Theresa at 50 years old. Oh, yes. THE matriarch. :)

On the OTHER hand I was looking forward to nonstop shockers and revelations leading up to the show's finale before its low-budget, less fulfilling Internet spin-off starring Jessica, Spike and a few others.

Certainly I'm hoping for the renewal; I'm just saying.

    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
