Is Passions being cancelled?

Listen, peeps, we can argue about this all day and all night, but the bottom line is that the shows with low total viewers and low HH's get cancelled. Fact of life.

I have no reason to doubt anything my source says/knows since everything he/she tells me about CBS soaps happens two months later.

I don't see that Passions is doing well in the 18-49 demo since they're always near the bottom in that demo. They're sometimes 2nd in the 18-34 demo but looking back at the ratings, Passions is usually #7 or #8 in the 18-49 so if 18-49 makes or breaks a show it doesn't look that good for Passions for the demos either.

when 50% of your daytime lineup is in the toilet ratings wise ... then yes, it does matter. What you're arguing is primetime shows, which does not apply here. You can have one or two uncessfull shows, because you have like 20 others to back up your lineup. NBC has half of its daytime lineup invested in something that does nothing for them critically or in ratings.

The only reason I would want to see Passions stay, is because of Days and it being alone in the afternoon makes it very vulnerable to NBC just axing the entire lineup. But Passions is crap. Has always been crap. Has had soooo many chances to improve and learn from their mistakes, but hasn't bothered. It's gotten cocky, like JER, when it has no grounds to be so (also .. like JER)

I know very little about network/local affiliate programming, but I have a question. In light of the news today that Megan Mullally's show has been cancelled, which at least in Chicago aired on our NBC affiliate at noon, will this affect the Today Show/Passions situation? Looks like there's a free hour up for grabs.
