January 4, 200719 yr Member No. 2003-2006 are proof that ratings do not go up because of gimmicks. JER has driven the gimmicks into the ground. They don't work anymore. Please, the show wasn't the same after 2002. So, I disagree. The show was cooking on all cyclinders back when it got that 2.9 with the alive burial, Theresa's engagement, Hecuba and all the other shenanigans. All the stories were working and the show literally LOOKED great. The aesthetic appeal and balance began to decline around late 2001 and then 2002. So that's why the ratings went down. Viewers like eye candy just as much as they like good stories and fast pacing, and the show's look went to hell in early 2002. Edited January 4, 200719 yr by JointStrikeFighter
January 4, 200719 yr Member I thought that Passions was a mess long before he returned to Days. And that's the reason why I cringed when he came back to Days. I never wanted him back in the first place, but that's just me. Seriously, where DOES this thread rank on the all-time list of posts, anyway?

Seriously, where DOES this thread rank on the all-time list of posts, anyway? I don't know, but it's TESTAMENT to "PASSIONS"' ability to garner buzz and get people's tongues wagging. And you know what they say about "any publicity." This show has the clout, which means if it gets its act together, it could have the right ratings.
January 4, 200719 yr Member Thank God the SON gods took pity on me. I love all of you!!!!!! Oh, dear God...here we go again... Now I'm just praying the SON gods take pity on US...and soon too. Edited January 4, 200719 yr by HoganStaysAtDAYS1
January 4, 200719 yr Member Anyone know the Today's show's ratings? Last week Today's Show I 6am-8am Viewers: 5.5 million Households: 4.3/15 25-54: 1.2 18-49: 1.0 18-34: 0.4 Today Show II Viewers: 3.6 million HH: 2.9/11 25-54: N/A 18-49: 0.7 18-34: N/A Passions Viewers: 2.2 million HH: 1.7/6 25-54: 1.4/8 18-49: 1.4/8 18-34: 1.4/9 Today has 3.3 million more viewers than Passions and Today II 1.4 million more, but PSNS beats both in all the demos.
January 4, 200719 yr Member You all realize this thread is probably more entertaining then the entire run of Passions? Rion has to be JER. Because the only person that would make love to JER is JER.
January 4, 200719 yr Member You all realize this thread is probably more entertaining then the entire run of Passions? Sadly, this is true. Well, except for the first few years of PSNS. Rion has to be JER. Because the only person that would make love to JER is JER. I would certainly hope that last part is true. Edited January 4, 200719 yr by HoganStaysAtDAYS1

That is not fair -- especially when you consider the first two years of the show. They were more entertaining than this thread. And "Passions" can recapture that glory. It just needs the right writer, instead of Mr. Ego (who has gone so far off the deep end that many viewers have speculated he is trying to sabotage "Passions" to get "Days" canceled by domino effect -- not to mention those who are so taken aback by his ego that they ACTUALLY speculate he is behind the Drake stalker incident, as another means of revenge on "Days of Our Lives.") I used to love the man but after all these years, it's time for a change. A co-head writer and more network control. Edited January 4, 200719 yr by JointStrikeFighter

Say Today III erodes another 40% (highly likely) It will be getting worse numbers (1.9-2.0 million) than PSNS. Just makes no sense to me at all.

It all goes back to the fact that NBC is made up of morons who couldn't find their own @sses with a map.

January 4, 200719 yr Member After sleeping on this and catching up, I am so glad that I missed the Passions orgy. Also, this thread may have started for Passions, but it is all about Days Of Our Lives! You know you're on SON when! And trust me, that is a good thing.

Well, y'know, discussing the cancellation of Passions, people are sure to begin guessing on what kind of affect it'll have on the rest of the industry as a whole. Days stands to be affected the most by it. After all... does anyone REALLY care if Passions survives because of how great it is? Aside from a rare few, hell no. I only care what will happen to the shows I actually give a damn about as a result, LoL
