It should be very soon. It is strange that they are keeping this so underwraps.

GL signed a 3-year deal in March of 2003. That would have been up (I believe) June of this year. However, last year, it was reported that GL was renewed for another year, which would make the contract end date in June I believe.

Thank you Dan. :)

I thought in 2005, both shows were renewed through 2007?

If I remember correctly GL's contract expired in Dec. 2006 and in 2005 it was extended for a short period of time thereafter. The announcement was primarily for ATWT in 2005 getting a two-year renewal and then GL was included as being renewed along with ATWT through the Spring 2007.

I keep reading different things. For a long time, I was under the impression that GL's contract was up for renewal at the end of 2006, but then that time came and went.

Anyway, I'm not nervous about the shows -- with the Emmy wins last year for GL, and the 70th anniversary, and given we are dealing with CBS, not cancel-happy NBC, no way are they going to be cancelled.

I don't see either one getting cancelled now. Like jfung said, they were pretty proud of all the Emmy wins and the show's coming up on a milestone anniversary. ATWT's ratings are better than they were earlier this year (in relation to the other soaps), so I think it's safe too.

I think CBS would win in the ratings if they made B&B 45 min, ATWT's 1 hr and reduced GL to 45 min.
