December 19, 200619 yr Member Maybe it is a ratings stunt, but it's a good one IMO. I think that you hate McTavish more than you hate the story. Maybe if you just focused more on the show instead of what's going on behind the scenes, you'd find it more enjoyable. I am focusing on what's happening on the show; I just despise the entire Lavery family and the Carey whores. I felt nothing for Ryan or Jonathan last week and I couldn't care less about Zach's visions of some woman. Imo, this stunt sucks because it involves mainly characters I don't care about and it lacks the depth of Jonathan realizing how his murders affected the victims' families.

ITA - I couldn't find any sympathy for the Lavery's either. Jonathan doesn't seem to grasp the pain HIS victims felt. If he moves into Wildwind - it will be a total disregard to his murder of Edmund. Sick or not, he killed many himself and never showed remorse imho. Zach has yet another mystery? Who is this a long lost daughter? BORING!!! Death - AMC has been all about death for almost two years now. It's like a monthly closet cleaning this year! It's not a serial killer - it's more like who's being shown the door???? Their stories are all just convenient devices for the moment...... the REAL AMC is long gone.
December 19, 200619 yr Member NO way it can be a long lost daughter of Zach's. The picture he had in his wallet of the woman was black and white and the woman had a late 60's type of hairstyle, so IMO it's his mother. To each their own, I have a feeling some are gonna complain no matter what, look at the ones who said that Zarf storyline was gonna suck before it even aired and now some of those same people are loving the Zarf stuff
December 19, 200619 yr Member Maybe if you just focused more on the show instead of what's going on behind the scenes, you'd find it more enjoyable. Why can't people just think this serial killer storyline stinks? It's not beyond the realm of possibility. I don't think there has to be a hidden agenda as to why someone hates the story. I think viewers of soaps are intelligent enough to seperate what is happening on screen with how much they hate McTavish. Not everyone loves watching young woman get murdered near Christmas time. I really like Zach and I think this vision of a woman storyline is not being written well and no it's not because I hate McTavish it's because I don't think it's good. Erin's death has ended up being about how Ryan is a hero and more contrived instafamily moments for Ryan. I'm not saying there have not been strong points so far in this story because there has been but there have also been weak points and I can understand people not liking this storyline.

McTavish has done a lot of harm to the show, but she is trying and I think she's doing a really great job.
