AMC: Who Is Enjoying the S/K Story?

All My Children has been getting so good these passed few months. Serial Killer stories are my favorite types of stories on soaps and they have been doing well with this one. I love the connection to Zach's past. And the returns on the way should be really good!!

I kind of do with that they'd let the entire cast be involved in this story instead of just the Fusion women, though. "General Hospital" did great with theirs a few years ago and so did "Days" (before Melaswen).

But overall, I'm pretty much addicted to AMC these days. Does anyone else love this story?

I'm LOVING it! I love the mystery behind it all - and so far it hasn't been your same ol' run of the mill serial killer storyline. There is mystery, intrigue, and sadness, along with bringing families and friends together, which is something thats been missing from AMC lately. Also love that Dani has been featured more often, as well as Amanda, Di, and Aiden - whom are all my favorites that aren't shoved down our throats everyday. Oh and finally - we're getting AMAZING Zendall scenes out of all this.

This is also a good way to cut down the cast - as many people have been wanting to months.

Anyway so far so good - I'm loving every second of AMC these days.

So far, so good. I hope it will make Babe/Kendall/Binks closure on the past and move forward as strong women

Yeah. I mean, sheesh! Binks has been SOOOOO cold and unforgiving when it comes to Babe.

Anyway, I'm still watching with much trepidation. McTavish has had lackluster murder mystery after murder mystery after murder mystery so I really have to wonder WHY she'd be doing another one literally weeks after her last botched attempt.

I wonder if the serial killer will picked out of her ass like Madden's murderer was. You know, when she and the writers were like halfway through and were just like, "Hmmmm... wouldn't it be great if it were Tad?"

There is no way I would forgive Babe for stealing a whole year iof my daughters life from me. I know this is a soap but that is just as real as Ryan the hero, Babe is love, Dixie the saint.. The serial killer thing I don't think would bother me as much without Zarf. I can't stand the guy. It is mc.t's backword way of getting BINKS TO KISS A GUY.

I lobsterhate the SK storyline. Sorry, but the real AMC (the one Agnes Nixon created) was too classy a show to go down this cheap stunt route. It also had more humor and heart than what we're getting now.

I agree with R Sinclair and cat that Bianca should have never forgiven Babe. I am so sick of Babe = Love and Ryan = Hero.

I also don't like Zarf. How disgusting is it that Bianca is kissing a guy and we're supposed to be okay with it because he's transgendered? What a copout for AMC.

I'm enjoying the show more these days. Last week, imo, was awesome....didn't miss 1 episode and fully enjoyed each episode. Hopefully me enjoying AMC continues :)

Did you watch at all last week? Bc there was more heart in all of last week than the months before it. Also, I don't really know how this storyline so far is a cheap stunt?

I'm enjoying this story so far. The problem with most murder mysteries on soaps is that the reveal is bound to be a let down. THe set ups are often quite good but it's almost enevitable that the resolution pales in comparison. I didn't really mind that Tad turned out to be Madden's "killer". It was an accident that he died. It's not like Tad killed him in cold blood. As far as I'm concerned it's perfectly accpetable (in TVland) to torture the person who won't tell you where your child is. In real life, maybe not so much.

I'm loving Zarf. Maybe some people can't accept Zarf as a woman, but I can. I don't see it as Bianca hooking up with a guy at all. Especially not if he starts dressing like a woman. My perception is that people will find Bianca's relationship with a TG much harder to accept than a conventional lesbian relationship. I think it's much more socially acceptable to bash TG's than gay people, at least in my limited experience, so I don't see this as a cop out on the part of ABC at all.

Sorry I disagree about Zarf being a cheap stunt. I think so far he's a pretty good character and I'm loving his and Bianca's interactions.

I love the SK storyline cause it's about Zach, not Babe, not Ryan, not Madden in a box

I made the mistake of catching the SoapNet marathon on Sunday because of the praise last week was getting on this site. I have to ask, what are you all smoking, drinking, injecting, or snorting to think this is enjoyable? :P

I disagree that there was more heart last week than in the previous months. Ryan & Jonathan crying over Erin had less heart, imo, than Dixie & Tad's scenes with JR in the hospital or David at Leora's grave.

Honestly, you don't think a serial killer story, the 1st in this show's nearly 37 years, is a desperate ratings stunt?

I was actually referring to the SK story, not Zarf; however, the famous rocker with the phony accent who overacts is not a good character at all, imo, and his kissing Bianca screams cheap stunt to me.

Maybe some people can't accept Zarf as a woman, but I can. I don't see it as Bianca hooking up with a guy at all. Especially not if he starts dressing like a woman.

Well, for now...once you get underneath the clothes you still have a biological male and Bianca is a lesbian. She knows nothing of his inner woman, yet can somehow feel it while kissing him, would she but block the view. Cross-dressing alone does not an inner woman, nor a transgendered female make.

Come back and talk to me when you have the same thing happening any one of the myriad of straight characters and couples you get to select from everyday.

Let's imagine (because it won't be happening any time soon) how you'd feel if your fave straight soap hunk, starts feeling "connected" to and "confused" about his well-established heterosexuality over the as yet undeclared inner woman (a pre-op, pre-hormone treatment {hello, razor stubble}).

How would it feel when Ryan/Zach/Aiden starts kissing on, becoming "intrigued" with and "moved" by the inner straight woman of a person presenting as a biological male, A quirky one, yes...but a biological male, nonetheless. It's all been well-explained though, because attraction is about the soul, not the body, making everyone on the planet functionally bi-sexual according to AMC and The Mind of McTravesty. So party on! It's time for musical sexuality!

I think soap watchers would be raising Holy Hell. But Bianca's a lesbian and so that's okay by JH McFronsie. It is no less disrespectful to Zach's or Ryan's or Aiden's or Straight Soap Hunk X's sexuality than it is Bianca's.

I also think it is one of the rarest of possible hookups for a lesbian (I think and *pray* since I don't trust McTravesty that the romance is more insinuated for marketing purposes than what actually transpires onscreen) romantic interactions, particularly someone of Bianca's history TPTB could cook up for her.

Just about every possible combo of gender and identity and sexuality have probably coupled at some point on this earth of 4+ billion people, so I am not saying it cannot happen. I'm know it has and that's not the point.

If The Mouse and McT had paid serious and consistent attention to Bianca's love life with a bio-woman at a similar level as the straight characters and under different writers, maybe. If Zarf had been presented to Bianca as post-transformation, maybe.

I like Zarf's interaction with Bianca. Jeffrey's a very engaging actor and Eden has chemistry with a tree. I like the addition of a TG story to AMC and daytime. My ONLY major problem is how Bianca's sexuality is being gimmicked and marketed for a sensational story that can do/may do/may have already done some damage to the integrity of her character.

TPTB uses Bianca's sexuality when they're ready to sell, sell, sell AMC by going saturation marketing then lose their own cajones when it comes to giving fans of Bianca, just one fully developed and executed lesbian love story. Yet, Zarf, played by a man appears...and Voila! Bianca gets two kisses within a few weeks of his arrival. It took 3 years to get her first kiss from a woman. Gah!

Bianca is a rare and vunerable lesbian representation still for Daytime, hell in most broadcast TV. Let her be just that. Let her be a friend to Zarf/Zoey, help her come out....leave the romantic interest to a whole new love for Bianca (Dump the Cheater!).

Maybe it is a ratings stunt, but it's a good one IMO. I think that you hate McTavish more than you hate the story. Maybe if you just focused more on the show instead of what's going on behind the scenes, you'd find it more enjoyable.

Actually, I've considered how I'd feel if one of the male characters were hooked up with Zarf. Personally, I'd enjoy the story, but I doubt any of the guys in the cast could pull it off with the possible exception of JY, jmo. Another problem is having a character who the audience will believe is open minded enough to see past the physical. I believe Bianca is. Eden sells it very well. No offence to fans of TK or CM, but I just don't think those actors or characters have it in them. However, if they had gone down that road I wouldn't be offended by it, I'd just hope the male character could make it work.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Bianca isn't through with physical woman. I haven't read anything that indicated Zarf will be the love of her life. My guess is he's just passing through. I can't see him sticking around for several reasons. First, who else can he be paired with besides Binks? Stable couples are boring and unless they are going to bring a new woman on to have a triangle things would get kind of stale ofter a year or two. Second, I don't think the audience is ready for this whether Zarf is hooked up with a man or a woman makes no difference (hope I live to eat these words, but I doubt it). Third, the actor seems pretty talented to me and I don't think they signed him long term, so he's bound to move on to bigger and better, imo.
