Actually I hope this is not true. I never liked JKJ as Philip and the character was a spoiled annoying brat while JKJ played him so I don't get the "depth-thing" some of you have mentioned. Plus I want an actor who looks more like Brandt considering were the character is going. I don't want a baby face to play that part.

I liked JKJ, but I don't think he looks like the Philip that Hogan wants to turn him into. We need someone with some bulk. Built like Kyle but with some really good acting chops.

I ain't buying this return until we get official confirmation from SOD or NBC. That "site that shall not be named" has gotten quite a few things wrong in the past. You can't trust them like you can trust Britney Spears to wear undies.

Yeah, I posted a rumor from soap central that Andrew Samonsky was cast as the new Phillip, but soap cental hasn't proven to be too reliable.

I'm really glad (if this rumor is true) that the show decided to cast a familiar face rather than a newbie like Andrew. As SteveFrame has pointed out, regular viewers of Days might be experiencing a whiplash with all of the changes to the show. With nuShawn and a few new additions to the cast, it might be better for Days to bring in an old face like JKJ to help ease the turmoil during the show's transition.

I haven't seen JKJ in a while so I don't know what he looks like now. But I hope that he bulks up a little so that he looks built like a Marine. That was one of the advantages of KB in the role....

I agree with you ademption about all the new faces - JKJ at least is familiar to most of us. I saw him recently on CSI Miami and he looks about the same, he was a bad guy on that episode. Still has the dimples! I don't recall if he had "bulked up" or not though.

It ain't Blather, Drew. That site is DEADER than DEAD. I have no idea why...I asked a friend who frequented there and here like me, but he flat out ignored me. It's all very hush-hush. No one knows what's going on over there. It's shrouded in secrecy.

As much as I love JKJ, he better bulk up if this is true. He has the talent but he needs to kind of get his body as close to Brandt as he can. I mean Philip is a military guy so I would think JKJ would know to he would have to do that. He did look like he bulked up a bit when he was on North Shore.

To me, bringing JKJ back as Philip, would be like reverting the character, in a sense. Farah's the only one left from that teen group, and even she might (and I hope to God is) be leaving soon. Meanwhile, you've got Martha as Belle and Brandon as Shawn. I just think JKJ would now seem out of place with them.

I don't think JKJ will seem out of place. To me, he and Nadia Bjorlin (ex-Chloe) were out of place during the teen years. Johnson and Bjorlin seemed so much more mature and older than Kirsten Storms, Jason Cook, Farah Fath, etc. I think JKJ and Martha Madison will have amazing chemistry together, although I want nothing of a PHELLE reunion. I think Belle needs a new love interest.

It is going to be weird though, if true, to have Philip's face go back to how it looked when he was a teenager What are you gonna do though, haha.

oh gawd, I hated him as Phillip. I much preferred the first teen Phillip. He was my favorite. Why recast. I dindt like Kyle Brandt at first but Ive warmed up to him

As for Brandon Tyler, I'm so surprised all of these people liked him as the first teen Philip. For one, the teen storylines were never that liked by DAYS fans, unless you were a teen. I was a teenager at this time and even I, who loved most of the teen storylines, don't even remember Tyler that much. I'm assuming he wasn't that great of an actor since I don't remember anything about him. He never wowed me, I'm assuming.

Guess DAYS OF OUR LIVES’s Philip won’t need that face transplant after all: Digest can confirm that Jay Kenneth Johnson, who portrayed the role from 1999-2002 is returning to the show. He will report back to the DAYS set next week. Look for him to first air January 12
