AMC/OLTL: Brooke should go to Llanview!

Ok, get rid of Dena Higley and Paige, and Brooke more or less fits the bill for a new love for Bo. Plus, there are tons of new characters to get involved with.

This will never happen in a million billion years but its just a thought. I want Julia Barr to get material she deserves and on AMC she just seems to interact with the same people and they dont know what to do with her.

I don't see that flying with OLTL fans who want stories for Nora and Vicki. Nora should be Bo's love interest and they need to give Vicki a story before bringing in someone else that is in her age group.

Oh heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell no! I want Bo and Nora! This is one of OLTL's biggest couple, but we never get anything good. They keep giving Bo all these flop love interests and it never works. PUT HIM WITH NORA!

I think in principle this is a GREAT idea.

OMG, Julia Barr sparking with Erika Slezak? Robin Strasser? Hilary B. Smith? Catherine Hickland? Yes, please!

Working on Craze? On The Banner? Can you see her b!tching out Todd? Going toe-to-toe with Lindsey?

However, there needs to be willingness to actually write for Brooke English. Given that Frons gave her nothing on AMC, no way are Beardy and Hackly going to do Julia Barr any favors on OLTL.

After all, ES, CH and HBS can't land a SL on their show for love or money. No, that honor goes to RJ-Lite, Gnat, McNostril and Huff 'n Puff.

I love the idea of Julia Barr moving Brooke to AMC for Bo. Good idea, but sadly it will never happen. I wouldn't be surprised if she don't end up on ATWT. I think Julia would be good on that show.

I am sure she would be great on ATWT but I rather see CZP get a story.

Um why? Julia's lack of airtime has little to do with AMC. Its more of an ABC issue and OLTL suffers from the same problems when it comes to lack of vets. She isnt going to fare any better over there

Fire Easton. its the way forward.

So does GH. And it is the same way over at GL and ATWT. I don't know why people would think Julia would fair better at ATWT when CZP has been on that show almost as long as Julia has been at AMC and doesn't have a story.

Fire Easton. its the way forward.

True but they could just as easily fire Cameron Mathison and Bobbie Eakes to keep Julia at AMC.

I like both these actors, but I have to agree. They didn't hesitate in re-signing Cameron Mathison pretty quickly. Just goes to show what characters the show values(Laverys and Careys)

Julia Barr would be great in a wide variety of roles, but sadly 57 year old actresses just aren't getting airtime or roles in daytime. The only 2 that are are getting any type of air time are Susan Lucci, Susan Flannery, Judith Chapman, Kim Zimmer or Deidre Hall, who have managed to escape so far, and that is sad.

Julia Barr is the right age to revive the role of Karen Wolek on One Life To Live (she and Light are the same age). But OLTL doesn't even give stories to Vicki or Nora or Lindsey anymore - so they aren't going to revive Karen.

Julia Barr is the right age for the role of Holly on Guiding Light, but GL has put Maureen Garrett on recurring and don't even use her that often. So they aren't going to hire her. Julia is the right age for Hope on the show. She is just a few years older than Robin Mattson who played the role once. Julia would rock in the role, but sadly I don't think GL would be interested or have the money for Julia.

ATWT could cast her in several roles too, but they don't even give Ellen Dolan or Zenk-Pinter that much to do. So Barr would probably be window dressing like they are.

Sadly I think Barr will join the likes of Victoria Wyndham, Linda Dano, Anna Stuart, and the list could go on and on, who might get something from time to time, but shows like Law & Order guest stints are more likely in her future.

I just don't see daytime's obsession with youth changing anytime soon. People criticize and say it is just ABC that is firing the vets. But it is a thing that is plaguing the whole daytime industry.

Sure shows like Days, ATWT, and Y&R keep their vets around, but how often are most of them really used. Days ended the last story it had for Suzanne Rogers and since then she is used as window dressing in scenes. For some reason, Susan S. Hayes and Bill Hayes have not been called upon since early in the year. Some say they might not have been available, but it is weird that they have been unavailable all that time, but when Y&R needs her she is not. It is hard to believe they were not available for that long of a period, when they have not gone that long in quite a few years without being seen.

ATWT is the same way. We see the vets, but none of them have been written for in quite awhile. They are used as window dressing, and sometimes not that often either.

Y&R sadly have relegated Jess Walton and Jeanne Cooper to the same level.

Frons might have been the only one to come out and say that no one wants to see a middle aged woman involved in a love story, but all of them seem to practice it.

Shoot since I look at ages quite a bit esp. since I have been doing the birthday thing, it is surprising that for the most part there are not even too many actors and actresses in their 40's even getting a lot of air time anymore. It seems with daytime now when you reach 40, it is time for the nursing home for you.

Goodness no, they barely use the vets they got... why add Brooke? Not to mention, I have never found the character that interesting... I can see her on the show as another character, maybe a mysterous woman from someone's past... Marcie, Nora, Dorian, Natalie, or Viki.

In a different universe, one where ABC's PTB were more amenable to older characters, SteveFrames' idea for Julia Barr as Karen Wolek would be brilliant (your blog maybe?)
