Members Cheap21
why the heck is Lynette bald? Didnt she find out she had cancer in the season finale? Thank god Edie is alive! I got scared there
Members Adam
They fast forwarded a month Cheap after the initial segment. So she already started the treatment. The episode has been up and down for me but generally I am enjoying it. Marc Cherry is writing and you can tell because the dialogue I think is great. Members jcar03
I'm so glad they are dealing with some of these fake pregnancies issues. Like someone wanting to touch her stomach. People seem to think they have a right to touch a stomach so I always wondered in all my years of soap watching no one ever encountered a similar problem. Members Laurie
Loved the premiere!!! Think I will enjoy all the stories this season
Members alwaysAMC
I thought it was just 'ok'. Premieres should be bigger and better than that. I love Dana Delany - and this mystery is good. Everything else...so tired and old. I am happy Edie survived...but now it's back to the same ol', same ol'. The Lynette stuff is too dramatic for this show.
Members EricaKane70
I think susan will either lose the baby or the baby when be her ex-fiancee', because you know she can't have a happy ending. An LMAO at Edie, how desperate is she. It would be an interesting twist if she knew about carlos's 10 million in the Cayman account from the getgo and she is just trying to latch on to him so he will marry her so she can get half, because this edie is too desperate. Members EricMontreal22
I thought it was ok too.. An ok start to a tseason that seems more exciting than last year's anyway. Somethings I feel the casting already spoiled (ie in casting notes they didn't call Nathan Fillion Dana's husband but something else...) but we'll see I thought Carlos had zero money onlya year ago? Members Cheap21
I was surpised to see Lyndsey Fonseca. Isnt she supposed to be a regular on Heroes, an NBC show?
Members Southofnowhere
No the Heroes role was recurring so she choose to do DW instead.
Members YRBB
I am sorry, but I don't get what "too dramatic for this show" even means. This is a SOAP. It's suppossed to be dramatic! If something should go is the "comedic" music and supposed comedy. The premiere was exquisite. You can just SEE that this is going to be a very nice season. You can't have over the top antics all the time. This is a post of mine in another forum for anyone who's interested: The resolution of the cliffhanger was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME and unpredictable and shocking and twisting and OH HOW I LOVE EDIE!!! And the nice thing is that you can see they planned everything before hand! Edie manipulating Carlos into staying with her is so way, way awesome that I feel my lovingness levels dangerously rising! Plus, you can't beat my favorite current soap picking up the cliffhanger exactly where it left off! Seriously, I prayed for that. OK, Susan was hilarious today and it was one of the few times that you don't see the pregnant twist coming--only, of course, when it is just about to be announced. Interesting where this could lead. Also loved that Katherine's husband turned out to be Susan's doctor. I loved how Gabrielle's storyline was affected by Edie's machinations and now she has to put up with Victor longer (and Victor's father's bday mentioned... hmm, should we expect a birthday party soon?). DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES is always at its best when they mesh the storylines, something that Season 2 didn't have, a fatal flaw (certainly for soap operas). I just knew we'd have a scene, were someone tries to touch Bree's belly--but the crushing of the hand? That was hilarious!!! Also, pretty clever twist to explain the whole thing with the fork the way they did--just like the Edie twist, no-one had thought of that. Wow, Marc Cherry really has been trying, hasn't he? Now, if only they lost the "comedy" background music. Loved the moment were Orson asks Bree how she can say bad things about Danielle--it seemed as if Orson realized for the first time something about Bree. I hated how Lynette's bald head was used to induce shock in the beginning, but all the subtle touches of nausea, not being able to pick Penny up, etc were nice. Loved the scene were Lynette takes her wig off and her friends see her and they have that talk.... Again, tied to Bree's storyline about lying. Andrew moment of the episode: Andrew asked his mom for money for leather pants!!! Ha! If only he wore them. I really wasn't impressed with Katherine throughtout the episode as much as I was when Orson was re-introduced to us through the mystery of Season 3 (Orson is a little boring now that we know he isn't, like, a murderer). However, at the end, Dana Delaney gave this look that got me hooked on her as an actress. I think we can expect great things from her. And that was enough to make me like Katherine. Which brings us to the Season Mystery, which was very nicely and subtly introduced: From the moment Dylan (terrible name) didn't recognise Julie, I knew something was wrong. 1) My theories: Dylan might have been molested by Phil, and Katherine accidentally or not killed him. Too obvious, I tell ya. 2) Then again, Phil could be a satanist. Too much? 3) Julie is Katherine's daughter and Dylan is Susan's (although that can qualify as a different, non-mystery related storyline). Of course, the most interesting part of the mystery is not what happened back then; its the reason why they had to come back!!! I WANT TO KNOW!!!! And, now, the best thing about tonight's episode: The continuity! Oh my God, how PERFECT was it? From connecting Katherine to the first lady that was in Wisteria Lane (Susan), to a call back to Orson's mystery and Danielle's affair with her teacher, to how they actually remembered to tie Edie's "suicide" attempt with Mary Alice's very much succesful suicide, the offshore account that Carlos has since 2 seasons I think.... That actually really made the episode feel like it is real, like these people are real. AWESOOOOOOME is the word! Can't wait for the rest of the season! Members Adam
Thumbs up to last night. The writing and the comedy was awesome. The mystery last year was much more intriguing than this one is shaping up to be but never the less I am interested. Alex, I so disagree with your opinion that Lynett'e cancer is too dramatic. What makes DH so great is its perfect blend of comedy and serious drama. I think the cancer storyline is going to be the best story this year and we all know Felicity can bring it, she already has. The premiere pulled in 19 million viewers, slightly ahead of the 18.7 it netted for last year's season finale. However the season premiere last year netted 25 million... so down a bit but all of t.v is this year due to DVR's.
Members EricMontreal22
I do have one complaint--it still feels to me a bit forced when they have scenes with all the housewives interacting. I dunno why--season 1 their interactions were magical and that's kinda been lost, I'm glad they're trying harder to interconnect them but I don't feel it like I used to
Members David_Vickers
Another great season start for one of my fave shows on tv right now. Love the Edie hanging herself resolution. Love that Susan is pregnant, and the misdiagnosis that she was in menopause. I also like Lynette's story, as well as the continuation of Carlos & Gabi's storyline. I also liked Bree's story and the introduction of the Mayfairs---Dana Delany, Lyndsy Fonseca and Nathan Fillion all fit right in.
Members alwaysAMC
Better episode this week. Love the Bree vs. Katherine stuff. Teri Hatcher looks GOOD for her age.
Members Cheap21
I hate Katherine. What a bitch for that whole pie fiasco she did with Bree. I am liking the rivalry and hope Bree brings her down. I have a feeling thought aht Kat will find out her baby secret and it will be another Applewhite situation with Bree being forced to keep quiet about Kat's secrets Any theories on Kat's secret? I think her ex husband was molesting Dylan and Dylan ended up killing him. Kat packed up and left and then had Dylan brainwashed to forget everything. Why she would come back though, I have no idea One question, why did Bree have a key to Katherine's house? I saw her go to a rack of keys but where did that come from? Everytime they do flashbacks, I have to laugh at Susan's hair bc its always ridiculous. At least this one was better than the afro look she had. Speaking of Susan, what was she thinking going to a teen party with her boobs exposed? She wasnt dressing like that when she wasnt pregnant and she needed to cover her chest up. Like always, she looked like a fool Gabby still lives on Wisteria Lane? Why didnt she move into her husband's house? So Im guessing Carlos wants to have Edie killed? I like Edie, but this storyline is ridiculous and only makes her look pathetic. She needs to move on
