Also in the new Advocate Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy's Christina) talks about kissing Kate Walsh.

So is everyone gay now? lol

I'm waiting for Lost's Jack and Sawyer to forget all about Kate and just go for it next.

btw. Has Mario Lopez and Julian McMahon's homoerotic shower scene aired yet? TV Guide says it airs on Sept. 19th...I just wondered if they got the date wrong and it already aired?

I never watch Nip/Tuck but I think I will start with this storyline of Christian questioning his sexuality.

No the shower scenes have not aired....Christian's sexuality stuff actually started last Tuesday in the premiere - so start tuning in NOW.

Thanks for the info - so Sean and Christian do end up kissing....interesting!

It comes on Tuesday nights at 9pm CDT on FX. They usually replay the same episode right afterwards at 10pm CDT. They show reruns throughout the week - I think on Friday nights and Sunday nights.

It's a GREAT show - hope you enjoy. You may want to read up on the characters and history first though, or you might get confused. Over the past 3 seasons, there has been MANY crazy things that have happened....twists and turns.

Be VERY acreful, RB. It's addicting!

One of my good friends from high school that I still stay in touch with got me hooked last season and since then, I think I've missed 2 or 3 epi.'s.

Mike Ruiz from the Advocate asks Julian McMahon in his interview with him if Christian

and Sean will kiss and he says it will happen this season.

When...it doesn't say. But he does talk about what it was like for the actors to kiss.

You should go get the issue Mike. Actually all Nip/Tuck fans should pick it up. It's good...and hot

Makes me a viewer now though with this storyline.

Yup.

I just read on zap2it.com that Alanis Morisette(not sure how to spell her last name) will be guest starring for 3 episodes as Liz's love interest beginning in October. I am a big fan of Alanis so I am excited about this!

Sean and Christian kiss? OMFG! I've been waiting for this to happen. B)

Is it just me? I think Dylan Walsh is damn hot! If the character Sean starts to explore his gay side, that'll be heaven for me. :D

^ Here ya go

Season 1:

Not liking the fact that he's uncut, he attempts to circumcise himself. Julia catches him having a threesome with his girlfriend and her girlfriend, she later breaks up with him when she realizes she's a lesbian. Then Matt and with his friend Henry commit a hit and run while high.

Season 2:

Matt gets out of the hit and run by telling a series of lies, and letting his friend go to prison. Matt then discovers that Christian, not Sean, is his biological father. sending him into a rebellious stage. He spends a majority of the season in a romantic relationship with Ava, a woman twenty years his senior. Eventually, Sean and Julia find out Ava had has been having an incestuous relationship with her son, Adrian. Christian discovers that Ava is a transexual. The three of them initiate a plan to get Ava out of Matt's life. They succeed, and, by the end of season two, Matt is not told that Ava had once been a man. Matt doesn't care and plans to run away with her, but she has other plans. She has sex with her son Adrian one last time and then kills him and leaves the country and Matt behind.

Season 3:

When Sean reveals Ava's past to Matt, he expresses a possible sexual fetish for transgender women. Unfortunately, Matt's lack of knowledge in such people (and their various states of alteration) causes his behavior to transcend from irresponsible to violent. He savagely beats a transexual woman after discovering she still has a penis: she later, along with her friends, attacks him in revenge and beats him in turn. After the incident, Matt shaves his head, dramatically altering his appearance. In the following episode, Matt and Sean engage in an argument which turns violent, and Sean punches Matt. As a result, Matt files a restraining order against Sean. The court order is later dropped, but Sean and Matt continue to be on bad terms.

Matt continues his rebellious behavior by getting involved with Ariel Alderman, a girl who is racist. The relationship dissolves when Matt realizes Ariel has serious emotional problems and he tries to discuss it with her father. Her father chastises Matt, but Matt stands his ground. Christian commends Matt on his standing up to Ariel's father, and Matt admits he never did agree with her racist theories of society. With neither having any place to go, Christian and Matt share Christmas Eve together at Christian's apartment where they reflect on how they are both adjusting to their respective situations.

During the final third season episodes, Cherri comes to McNamara and Troy to get her face repaired. A Vietnamese back-alley surgeon had botched a reconstruction surgery after the beating. She is denied, Sean telling her that since she beat Matt up, she will not get a surgery. Later, Sean tells Matt of the incident and Matt convinces Sean to do the surgery on Cherri. Matt visits Cherri in her recovery room and they have a heart-to-heart about what happened between them. Apologies are spoken and all is well between them. Matt offers to take Cherri shopping for new make-up.

While at the department store, Cherri is insulted by a sales lady, and Matt takes up for her. Things go from bad to worse when Ariel spots the two together. She begins a verbal attack on Matt, only stopping to go tell her father about what she has seen. Ariel further confronts Matt in their school's parking lot, asking him what Cherri has that she doesn't. She puts on quite the scene, and coaxes Matt into her car. They are then joined by Ariel's father.

Ariel drives Matt back to her house, where he is forced inside and to the basement by Mr. Alderman. Cherri Peck is then brought into the basement, roughed up and bound to a chair next to Matt. After Ariel ties Matt up to a chair and puts make-up on him, Cherri mentions that Ariel's father has a gun. Ariel tells her father that this wasn't the plan; they were only supposed to scare Matt and Cherri, not hurt them. Mr. Alderman advises Ariel to go upstairs, which she does. Left alone with Matt and Cherri, Ariel's father says that he wants to play a little game with them. He wields a box-cutter and plans to cut off the penis of whichever of the pair makes a prettier girl. He decides on Matt, but Cherri saves Matt from having to cut his own penis off, telling him to do it to her. Cherri assures Matt that it's alright, and after being threatened at gunpoint by Mr. Alderman, Matt has no choice but to cut Cherri's penis off.

Later they are transported to a remote location, where Matt is forced to bury Cherri alive. Mr. Alderman brandishes a gun and tells Matt to shoot Cherri. Matt refuses, walking away. He says that he doesn't care anymore, Mr. Alderman can go ahead and kill him. While Mr. Alderman watches Matt, Cherri rises from her grave and hits him over the head with a shovel. Cherri gets the gun, and Matt urges her to shoot Mr. Alderman. The scene ends with the gun pointed off-camera and Cherri firing.

^^Great summary Rick!

So from last week's episode, we learned that Ariel's father was only shot in the chest - and that he's now in prison - right? Did he mention what happened to Cherri though? They really just skimmed through all that....I was surprised that the fallout of all that didn't play a bigger role.

One other side note, because now I've re-read 1993-1994.  I think that I found a ret-con issue. In 1993 after John finds out the Stefano is Kristen's father. It is not like I am claiming to have found nuclear fission, clearly mistakes happen.  But, I found this to be amusing. In 1993, Stefano becomes deadly ill, so Kristen tells John that she needs to be by her father's side, but not to worry about the deadly disease, because she's adopted.  Given, that I've always thought of Kristen as being adopted, until the more recent cannon that she is Stefano's biological child, it is interesting that in 1993, the week before Tony comes to town to announce that he is Kristen's fiancée.  Kristen is saying that she can't give blood to her dying father, because she was adopted.  So, the current reverse in cannon, neglects that detail. It is so funny to read this and then see Kristen and Tony in the crypt this week, 32 years later.  That's more than half the show's history at this point, amazing.
    • It was shuffled off the stove way before that. Think of the early summer stuff with Gio, Emma, and Dalton, which they basically dropped for weeks at a time, and then also put them on the back burner until recently.

    • After the slap it does feel inevitable - being arrested and thrown out right after her big win.
    • Yesterday it was Theo and Jada.  Today it's Chad and Belle.  What a mess.
    • I asked my soap historian GPT to help pull together the best available sources on Daniel Pilon’s run, and here’s what the research confirms: * Pilon played Max Dubujak on *Ryan’s Hope* from 1983–88. * He began appearing as Alan Spaulding on *Guiding Light* in 1988. * An academic source notes that he appeared as **Max and Alan simultaneously in November 1988 * His later-life interviews mention major upheavals, including losing his home in the Northridge earthquake and declaring bankruptcy in 1994.  That’s the factual foundation. Now for the human side of it. I’ll admit Pilon was never my favorite Alan. The Spauldings are supposed to have that patrician, Midwestern money vibe, and suddenly here comes this very European-sounding gentleman sweeping into Springfield like he wandered in from a different soap entirely. It created a strange tonal shift, at least in my memory. Whether he was intended to be temporary is hard to pin down, but honestly, looking at what he was dealing with in his real life, I don’t know that the show ever had a truly stable window to figure it out. He was going through marital strife, while being talked about as the "next James Bond" back in Canada, and juggling work on two soaps at once is a lot. Under those circumstances, the question of whether he was the “right” type for Alan becomes almost secondary to the fact that he was working through multiple emergencies while stepping into one of GL’s biggest roles. So for me, the story of his Alan isn’t just about casting fit. It’s about an actor navigating chaos and the show adapting on the fly. Also, the proverbial soap hill that I would defend its honor, is that Ron Raines in the final week was so amazing, that for me, it erases all prior memories of his performance.
    • I wish Nicole had swallowed but it is what it is lol
    • You're probably right, but it's such a mistake to have Dani return to Bill. I do not want that. I like Bill, but that's probably because he's so much better than his garbage wife. Having Dani take back the guy who NEVER stopped cheating on her during their marriage would be a terrible mistake.  Yes, it's a mistake I can see Dani making. That doesn't mean I want to see it.
