Day 4 & it is amazing. I feel like I'm watching a soap from BITD. Someone just did a count, people who were in 5 episodes or more as of end of last month, it's a cast of 51. Right now they could do a promo of "GH is back, baby!" Obviously there's plenty to try to ameliorate. D&C had years to do damage. I think it was allowed to go on way too long. But, I am not bored. And I find that the writing is full of purpose, intention, specificity as to character & to story. Instead of just people randomly talking. And I feel like they are setting things up. Tracy with James today was such a nice scene. I didn't even mind Cody Bell. Again Eva LaRue's scenes are very well written & acted. Yesterday with MB & with Kate. Today just with him. I've complained time & again about Sonny delivering "sage wisdom" here & there. But, with it being Krissy at least it is grounded in his own family doings. And, Anna having a come to Jesus moment was pretty fine. And, I love that sweater she had on.

Charlotte Gibson And her name seems new to me. I asked someone at GH who usually knows & he also thought she's a new name. But, he wasn't sure. Seems like things there are ... well, he's indicated a whole lot of stuff going on. I imagine that is par for the course with a regime change such as this. D&C were in place for a long time. @Toups can you confirm?

Yabbut Sonny was not in a business-as-usual mode at this time at all. If he had been he never would have beaten Cyrus nearly to death with his bare hands one freaking afternoon in the chapel. He was not behaving whatever is normal for Sonny. He actually hasn't returned to any kind of normalcy since he found out that people had "betrayed" him.

Well, point of view can make so much difference. I didn't find "Aunt Liz" to be sad. Obviously her subtext was one of loneliness & not necessarily having the stature in the family that she'd have liked to. But, largely, I found her to be likable, if a stereotype. And Irene Dailey had an Emmy which neither Victoria nor Beverlee did! Here is the last poster for the anniversary event. I just saw yesterday that Alan Locher has got Petronia Paley coming up!!!! So excited! I think it's great he's reaching back into the past this much! And with her the actress who played Thomasina. I believe it is the afternoon of the 27th. CORRECTION: Not Thomasina! Well, Sonny nearly beat Cyrus to death, which is why he's in the hospital. And, he is pressing charges against Sonny for the assault, so naturally Sonny's first thought is to eliminate the only witness. (Do you get my sarcasm?) But, that really was his only reason for ordering the hit. About Joss, Joss was more naive & sheltered than many of us realized. Her thing of being anti-Sonny didn't really involve the mob but was just plain anti-Sonny. When her father Jax would go on & on about his daughter living in danger & under guard, she really didn't get it.

Oh, just great! Not only is it awful to watch but it is awful for her to have to act it. Sometimes our soaps are elaborate torture.

We know she is not pleased with the overly aggressive way he is handling things but that isn't doing anyone any good. I wish Nicole would assert herself more with him. Also I feel like she is not doing so because she doesn't want Holly to see her openly dispute that he is handling things wrong. They're just so incredibly boring to me! Oy. Well, that's not fair. It is true that they bore me to tears as a couple, always have. But it's not her, it's him. Besides being fairly okay looking he is just such a nothing, a nobody. Always polite, sucks up yo everyone. That Greek lullaby sounded like a French song we all know. I really hate that they are having Maggie like him & like his inappropriate attention. She's better than that!

I don't believe reboots of the classic, vintage, defunct soaps will or even should happen.You point out one big reason. Another is that it has been far too long!

I believe they are telling us that Joss believed in a fairy tale version where, sure, there were times when they had to kill but it was only bad people on the attack. She even pointed out that it was an old man in a hospital bed. How can you not?!! They are so adorable?!! Oh, well, can't win them all. Me, I had the opposite reaction to Sexy Dexy yesterday. I had previously had him on my list as in danger of being cut & then after their use of him yesterday, decided, no, that he was actually safe, that they had a use for him. I guess we'll see.

I heard they've recast Gabi, which if true means they plan to pick it up. I was okay with today's show. No Leo. No Konstantin. No Pawn Retcon in Aria. A relief. Now she looks amazing! And, she's older than 76, I believe.

More than that though she is Team Q & Tracy's Grandbaby with her traits & ways of thinking. She really let Special Agent IAmJohn have it. Willow has taken another step in helping Jason because somehow she appropriated a bottle of antibiotic. Only Day 3 of PM/Korte but longer scenes, better flow, more complex dialogue, things are said with intent & purpose specific to the characters & to situations, people aren't staying in their same lanes but moving in & out of lanes, characters interacting with people they usually have not, ...

He indicated that he'd been let go, oh, probably a month ago. I posted on 2-21 asking if anyone knew why. It's only Day 3 & I'm so excited. This is the way I felt about my soaps BITD. Longer scenes, more complicated dialogue, characters having scenes with characters they don't normally, characters not staying in their own lanes but moving in & out of different lanes. I know what you mean, although I bet you're right about recasting being unpopular, as ideas go. Last year when WL did not return in the summer, I was disappointed. A LOT. When we had that group of Cam, Joss, Trina, Spencer, it was such a good YA group. If they did that we'd be looking at almost 100% recasts! Because soon we're going to have a recast Spencer, already have a wonderfully recast Trina, etc. For the moment I'm personally in a mode of thinking "too many children". Sonny, Maxie, Liz, ... there just seem to be too many kids. I really love Leo & James & am adding a fondness for this new Danny. When WL returned for Spencer's Memorial service it was so danged good to see him. This is something I am seeing fans speculate about, Joss having an abortion. GH hasn't touched that in a while. Also there's a persistent idea among fans about making Sexy Dexy an EMT. That would be taking him from potential life-taker to life-giver which has a kind of nice reverse symmetry.

WL is in college & is very intent on getting his degree. Leaving the show was HIS CHOICE. Unless you are thinking of a recast Cam, this is just the situation the show has to live with. I mean, what do you suggest?

Yes, I thought she looked best & youngest in the 90s. Younger than 12 years before. I really think what I am seeing is that she's just had work done. But, I also realize that before about 3 years ago I didn't think she was showing her age at all & now I see it. I'll live. Mostly I didn't care for today. To me Drake is playing this character who is Forrest Allamain, going by the long-held nickname, John Black, and last year he reconnected with a wonderful Robichaux father & I've dreaded this revisitation to the Pawn & I dislike it as much as I was afraid I was going to. And I didn't even like Drake's acting choices.

I replied to someone else who thought of Cam, as I did also & you pointed out that the show has no interest in Cam anymore. I don't think it creates any imbalance at all necessarily for fans to talk about characters or things the show is not going to pursue. Now, if what fans were interested in & what stories the show wanted to tell were extremely different, then, sure that could create a disconnect or even cognitive dissonance. And that would be an enormous problem, but not one of balance per se. Cam, for example, is not even a dropped thread. We know where he is & why he's there. Perhaps this is more clear.

Not the first time & won't be the last time that fans consider certain things or characters that the show is not at all invested in. Doesn't even matter & is not a problem, either. I thought today was a good day. Scenes seemed long enough. Scenes seemed to have balance & even to flow. We got characters interacting with each other that we are not used to & I liked that. Also have issues with the white dude handing this down to the Ashfords. I'm not sure if this was their conclusion to this or not. If so, then I think they moved Marshall to the point of wanting to forgive too quickly. I'm not generally pleased to have so much of this family unit but it was okay & I think it served a purpose. Specifically I have Stella on my cut list but she was better today with Tracy. I tend to think that Jane Elliot elevates everyone else she's in scenes with but I also think was good writing. I thought Olivia & Tracy & then Olivia & Lois was very good. Can't stand this hairdo of Lois's but I get that Rena loves it, so I do not matter one bit! Day 2 of PM/EK HW tenure, again with no Breakdown writer specified, and I found myself wondering if they're going to continue to get people out of their typical lanes & wonder if we could get an umbrella story?!!
