Not everyone at the studio knows everyone else at the studio & as we know often the writers aren't physically at the studio, anyway. I wasn't asking him as a source on the writing team. Just talking to a person about something totally & completely foreign to his expertise. Just casual conversation. I had no pressing need to know. It was going to be told here.

My problem with it is the unreality of it all. There would be no way that you could find medical records that old & gain from them a doctor's name, track him down, learn he was deceased but find someone who knew of him & what he was known for. I cannot suspend my disbelief far enough to cover how impossible that would be. One of the things I said I wanted from new writers was more hospital stories. One point for it being one. Minus 50 points for lack of believability.

So Erica's abortion was an illegal one, right? I am so sorry for the confusion. I have relied on you twice. Because I know you were the poster who originally told me *off the top of your head* that yes she did have an abortion & that you thought it was 1970-71. When you posted before having refreshed your knowledge I just read you wrong. But you must have thought I'd lost my mind for sure. I apologize.

And, she looks so alone & there don't seem to be many people there. I had to laugh to keep from crying. DAYS Th. 3-21-24 An odd day even for DAYS! First the good news: No Konstantin! The show played it that today was the 1 yr anniversary of Abby's murder. Chad had an excellent scene about it & her murderer being free, but on the run, only it was with Leo. For once Leo looked great. Normal slacks with a crew neck sweater in a very bright primary color. Chad assigns him, for awhile anyway, to straight stories. Everett is MIA. Oh, the set for the paper looks larger. Still looks like a hotel room dressed as a dorm room impersonating a community theatre set! We didn't see Thomas & Charlotte. We did see Chad at graveside with humongous flowers. So Paulina is heading home from the hospital. Reporters rush them as they head out. The word "miracle" is tossed around.

Frank wants Julie back & she keeps saying NO. Same situation with JJ. Apparently you are in good company on your opinion of Emme.

I don't believe they would be bringing back Vanessa Marcil unless Maurice has decided to retire, which I do not at all think is a thing. It's just that apparently that is how he sees EndGame for Sonny: off into the sunset HEA with Brenda. I kinda like that he thinks that way.

I am completely on board with them undoing Heather being the Hook. She never should have been & couldn't have been. D&C changed their minds over & over & their last gasp was ridiculous. To me, anyway. I thought KS was good today. Well, what if they're squeezing Lucy out & setting up Maxie to be in charge? I'm still very hopeful.

Day 5, One week in. So, today was not as good. Willow panicked when she heard that the computer was reporting an error in the drug inventory. She asked to take her break early & ran to Michael. He had a great speech, full of history about what he owes to Jason & why he would go to the ends of the earth to help Jason. A call was made to Spinelli & he was tasked with hacking in & making the drug inventory think it was fine. He did. As far as that was good show. Nina and Drew seemed weird. Heather & Laura & then Laura & Kevin about Heather seemed weird. So, Drew wants Nina to run Crimson again. I feel like that seemed random & should've been motivated somehow. Although Drew has been all over the place for weeks. And, was this a chem test? Are they just testing him everywhere? Laura brushed Heather's hair?! I really think they're only trying to salvage Heather while keeping her original craziness but it was hard to see what they're doing & not going to do, today. Excellent choice of GIF. Ya know she was on AW a lifetime ago. Continuing with real soap fan priorities, since we are stuck with him, I want them to get him a good haircut, style & dye job! No excuse for that mop looking like that.

Well, BITD some writers at least, were this genre's auteurs. I think probably one of the egregious errors was when more & more creative control was wrested away from the writers & in its place was exec power instead. And I realize that even Irna Phillips & Doris Hursley complained of network interference, even that far back.

And, you're right. My point also. Total agreement. There was only one thing about that time where P&G could've done better & did not. And, that was that EW wanted to show that you could promote products within the context of the show & P&G declined to budget that for her. That was short-sighted of them. IMO anyway.

That wasn't per se a P&G thing. CBS mandated the production model. EW didn't have the budget to properly implement. [!@#$%^&*] happens.

Evan Hofer, this hot young guy, I just bet he'd do any ole thing they asked him to do. These folks who do want this & don't want that, they are no longer young & hungry. Although I'm not saying all vets are like that. Cause they're not! Look at Jane Elliot. They are using her in different lanes now every single day. And she shines!

The idea that you have your soap fan priorities in order about Sexy Dexy pleases me no end!!! Yabbut, there's something different about Burton this time at bat. He's more there. There is more emoting. You can see in his face & hear in his voice. My interpretation is that he is actually "bringing it" every day. IOW, it is more than just the minimum daily required "acting". He is really acting. And, of course, it shows like crazy because there is more energy behind it than I personally have seen in YEARS! Mightily enjoyed his scenes with Danny, with Michael of course, with Carly the one day & with Willow bossing him.

Exactly what I wish Corday would do, also, gee, what a coinkidink, huh? But, seriously, if he would just be the Owner & not pretend he actually functions as an EP or as he said at the Bill Hayes funeral, a ShowRunner (AS IF) it would be so much better for the show. Here are 2 examples where second generation Soap Royalty is not beneficial to the genre, not at all.

Here's our Dee, this month, at a convention, signing an Elektra Woman board game. Probably your typical club room recessed lighting & she looks fine, much better than she does on the show! She looks soft, not harsh or stern, or odd. So since that kind of lighting is nothing special, it just illustrates how dadgummed bad the show lighting is.

What or who is a Chuck Bass? My only thing is that he can't just have sex & get his hair done. There must be more to a character than that.

Look, if they didn't want him on his terms, that is up to them. This is old news. Came up years ago. They didn't dump him then. Obviously now it's not even been mentioned except in theoretical fan discussions. And, I don't see a new thing to be said about it. If there were degrees of mootness, it would be the mootest. So, brother, I will leave it with you.

There are plenty of stories about discussions being held & determining if an actor is going to be comfortable playing what they have in mind. This is not singular to Steve Burton. And, these things only come up when it is a drastic change. More like being asked to play a different character, than accepting or not, a storyline. And then there are examples like James Mitchell, AMC teen gay coming out & gay teacher story, Palmer was going to be written as a homophobic bigot & Mitchell simply said that would not be happening, period.

I suppose you know that this was offered to Burton & he declined. Personally I think they're positioning to address Sonny and/or the mob. Of course, what they plan to do to fix things might be different from anything any one of us might imagine, or wish.
