So, it REALLY went downhill after they stupidly fired Mimi?! Very amusing. But, you know they have one of them in NYC, only there it's pronounced HOWston. Isn't it?!!! On January 5, 1993, on GL, Ellen Parker as Mo, delivered my favorite of all lines of soap opera dialogue, “You have reduced us to a ridiculous suburban joke and I will never forgive you for this”. - Mo to Lillian, GL 1-5-1993. Scriptwriter of the day was Courtney Sherman Simon, Headwriter, Nancy Curlee Demorest, Exec Producer, Phelps. Now, Courtney Sherman Simon is someone I exchange emails with on occasion. I sent this to her under the heading "Favorite line of dialogue" & added at the end, "Brava!" I did not expect a reply. But, the very next morning, early, an email from her, appeared, and I quote: Thank you so much. But God help me, I do not have the restraint to resist telling you that the line I actually wrote was “You have reduced us to a cheap suburban joke”. And I still think it packs a better punch that way! Now, I had several thoughts. First, she recalled exactly what she wrote some 30+ years ago! Next, her possible irritation at some actor changing the line she wrote. Finally, that she had taken the time out to sit down & write me an email about it. All in all, a quite wonderful exchange. A few more things about this. Ellen Parker's delivery of the line is perfection. And, I love it that the phone kept ringing until she slammed the receiver down, but she didn't just do it once, no, she slammed that receiver down 3 times! As you can tell, I am quite enamored of this whole scene. I have seen that the YT of this episode is dated Jan. 4th not 5th. I do not know if I am wrong or if they are. If any of you know, please tell me.

Of course, you're right that if he could, he would try to get on there. I just think that they've got the people they want & I would guess there won't be any more hires. A poster in my soap group on Facebook just saw this show. He described it in very interesting terms. He remembered this actress as Wanda Wolek on OLTL but also as Edie Hoffman on AMC. He talked to her after the show & got an autographed headshot. It was a delightful fan review. It made me wish I were close to the city because I would surely go & see this one woman show.

Since you said that this picture of Billy, Vanessa & HB was special, unusual being in color, I decided to try to get in better focus, maybe a sharper image. So, see if any of these are better.

The major difference between these two returns is a pretty big difference. This last time she came back, not just from a break, but from retirement. We are so blessed that she came back to us, at all!!! Just imagine the show today without her. No, let's not even think of that. I can only guess that she did not enjoy being retired, even though she had thought she would. Again I say how glad I am that she apparently didn't like being retired. And, one other thing, thank Soap Jesus that Frankie hasn't screwed this up.

IIRC Jill got the numbers up just a tiny bit but wasn't able to maintain even those gains. Her two years at AW cannot really be counted as one of her successes. She did so much damage & had so little positives that her net = FAIL. One of my (best) Christmas gifts was a year of Paramount+ Showtime so I can watch Beyond The Gates at about 3:15 daily, after I finish watching GH at about 2:15.

The racy thing he needed to do was Braylor! Just by taking them one step further once they both decided to put Ridge at arm's length, with the beauty of Krista & KKL & their off-the-wall chemistry, a sub plot of them would've been like Dynasty meets The L Word & suddenly all these new viewers would have flocked to B&B.

It was my understanding that Morgan Fairchild only signed a one-year contract by intent & they knew upfront that there was no possible second year. And, when was it that Jane was a Producer on LOVING?

I am an aficionado of all of the Christopher Guest projects. They use improvisation to develop their movies but by the time they do final shoots they have a codified script from their rehearsal improvs. SPINAL TAP is the first & is not the best or the strongest. In the movie, they play the British rock group which is where turning the amps up to 11 comes in. One interesting item of note is that they went crazy shooting & by the end they had enough for 4 or 5 movies!! Clear field to make the numbers whatever your heart desires!

Reel vs. real, is of course, a thing but it's often hard to be describing physical characteristics & not being hitting the actress rather than the character. Just a thing born of long experience.
