  1. So, does anyone know of any where that we can take a look at the demos for 1995 & 1996?
  2. Just a few things. Eden, surely that's a wig. Sonny, surely someone has been keeping count, is this his 5th attack where he's grabbed at his chest & then gone down? Or 4th? Loved Kristina's sarcasm when Drew whined, "Are Carly & Sonny harassing you?" & she replies, "Yeah, from way over there!" Otherwise, Tracy, Tracy, Tracy!!!! And, more Tracy. And, in regard to her, amazed that Drew said "prison". City jail cell does not = prison!
  3. Okay, so definitely violence, possibly gratuitous, marginal as to women as the object. Trying to be fair. I literally keep a list of good things done by this woman! (The list only has 2 items.)
  4. Thanks for adding this! Was that Dorian/Jess story one that could be classified as violence against women?
  5. There is definitely truth to what you are saying here, at the end. I know when ATWT was #1, and AW was #2, and (as a bonus even) when GL was #3 that P&G was ecstatic. And, of course, you can understand why!
  6. Oh, yeah, so we surmise, Ron's in a mood about this & he thinks: Well, I'll just see, if I'm important enough to them, compared to this crap the scabs wrote, .... and so he sets up a test! I wonder if he was shocked at the results? Wouldn't that just be a gas?!
  7. I'm not sure, but my impression is that it was NBC not P&G that was so into the desired demos. I just clipped a post in the 90s daytime ratings thread that relates. On https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/4/#comments Errol said The best ratings I believe JFP’s OLTL got was the Georgie Phillips storyline. Those demos, IIRC, were so good the show was topping GH consistently. Again, that’s why she got the GH gig. The next time OLTL started doing that again was ironically when it got canceled under Ron, which is why despite canceling the show itself the network extended the contracts of Ron and Frank which later led to them both getting GH. What were those GH stories? Interested.
  8. I completely get why you wonder about this. But, as to the second part, why would he sabotage himself rather than just quit? I suppose it could be a thing, though. I love, and admire, Michele Val Jean but I continue to have these lingering doubts about his inclusion even as a BDW on BTG. I hope I'm wrong.
  9. I call that episode, the one up above, "The Night Renee Dumonde Dimera threw a party & told the whole town off" Now, I can't wait to hear her talk about Brenda Benet.
  10. I completely understand that. What I would ask you is how long did those numbers stay up? I don'r believe there is any question that JFP got the desired demo up. My question is about its duration.
  11. I think you're on to something here. In a way I kinda hope so! DAYS is supposedly the diversity soap. If this is diversity in 2025 we are all in a whole helluva lot of trouble. By this I take it that you are referring to something else beyond just B&S? It really is. I am dumbfounded by the fact that some of my posters in my FB soap group, actually like it, or at least they say they do. But, they also claim to like Leo, so I really don't know what they are smoking!!! I definitely think this was in some way a final straw. To me it reads as a really bad dig at the genre. Well, you know when they killed off Hattie's character Charlemagne, that is how they offed her & it was clear that it was derivative & about Rosalind Chase's demise on that show.
  12. I would respectfully suggest that one of these things does not fit with the others. IMO, the tragic accident that claimed Anne Heche's life was more than likely a function of either mechanical or electrical or electronic failure of her automobile. Also I do not believe there is sufficient evidence to conclude that she had a problem covered by mental illness.
  13. BTW, I just wanted to say that everything noted here about yesterday's Crummiest of the Crummy DAYS episodes was fulfilled when I watched the true drudgery last night! I join in wondering what happened that finally caused the show to rid themselves of the Carlivati menace.
  14. What does Jill ever do? And, why can't she both get numbers up & have them stay up? And, since she can't get the numbers to stay up, is it really worth it when she destroys things, sets, actors, character integrity, kills off characters that the canvas needs, if it were truly worth it then why is she fired so much of the time? But, what she did was fire people, kill characters, saddle the show with a set not conducive to storytelling, spent a lot of money, the disastrous story of the affair between John & Felicia, no more Bridget, no more Ryan, no more Spencer, bye to the brunette Amanda, by her own words she reached a point where nothing she was doing made sense anymore. And, she said she'd done all that she could do. She also said she got on fine with NBC but not so with P&G.
  15. Robin Williams, as we learned, was suffering from a debilitating progressive neurological disease. And, we'll never know how much was the disease manifesting in this way. Still of course, a tragic ending to a remarkable life. Nothing touches the sadness.
  16. Since the Edit function is no longer effectively available to us, this is a repost, with edited info contained within. On January 5, 1993, on GL, Ellen Parker as Mo, delivered my favorite of all lines of soap opera dialogue, “You have reduced us to a ridiculous suburban joke and I will never forgive you for this”. - Mo to Lillian, GL 1-5-1993. Scriptwriter of the day was Courtney Sherman Simon, Headwriter, Nancy Curlee Demorest with Lorraine Broderick and with Stephen Demorest, Exec Producer, Phelps Also I like to say that 'Mo was a Reardon by birth, a Bauer by marriage, Michele's mother by circumstance, seen by many fans as the inheritor of Bert's matriarchy, a tentpole legacy character and Roger's only real friend. - Donna L. Bridges about JFP killing Ellen Parker's character, Maureen, on GL
  17. Thank you so much. Now I get to know how blasted thin the shirt logo is as PROOF.
  18. I'm pretty sure it is information that is routinely available most, if not all, locations. I believe it falls under the heading of public health. I personally have a file in Notes on all of the soap actor suicides I am aware of. But, if it is a question of posting it, some people are interested in the information but others don't want to see it. Mostly it just exists in Notes for that reason. Anyway, too danged young, and quite sadl
  19. When you look at DAYS OF OUR LIVES, it is 1985 as the beginning point when full complete episodes can be found. Before that, it is very hit and miss. Of course primetime is very different. Many shows have full complete episodes available. One exception is the short-lived THE MONROES where only half of the episodes are out there. This is because the others were not originally broadcast.
  20. You're right. I didn't even think about the fire. When it comes to something like this, Frank is not so bad, after all. I'm not going to stop criticizing but I will back off a bit, give them a breather.
  21. Yet another page: SPRINGFIELD YEARBOOK Going back to school and beyond with GL's younger set Photo captions: Ashlee, James and Daisy in Orlando in 2009 THE FOUR MUSKETEERS Mindy, Phillip, Beth and Rick at their prom and their 2009 high school reunion Coop, as a teacher in 2008 Bill and Ben in 2002 Harley with two of her beaus, Dyland and Alan-Michael in the late 80s Dahlia, Marcus and Bill in 1997 Bridget, David and Kat in 1992 Lujack and Beth in 1984 Michelle and Drew in 1999
  22. Another page in this mag: THE WEDDINGS Ben & Eve 1978 Gus & Harley 2005 Reva & Jeffrey 2008 Danny & Michelle 2003 Tammy & Jonathon 2007 Cassie & Richard 2000 Eleni & Frank 1994 Quint & Nola 1983 Hamp & Gilly 1992 Lizzie & Bill 2009 Alan-Michael & Lucy 1996 Elizabeth & Justin 1979 Vanessa & Matt 1995 Beth & Phillip 1991 Josh & Reva 1989
  23. What is this about hurling abuse?
  24. I don't think the show has any intention of killing Drew.
  25. Going back a few days, who can explain to me what the heck a jersey or sweatshirt or whatever it was, from Rochester, means?!! I am not stupid but I had no idea why Leo cared he was from Rochester. I'm afraid this show is slowly rotting my brain.
