Bore us?!!! Are you kidding? I hope so because vicariously "watching" AW is just so much fun!!! Please keep on in your journey into Bay City social life. Iris & Rachel are waiting for you. I've come across some articles I'd like to share. First up: RKK about Doug Watson. Next: RKK about Connie Ford Now JFP about Frankie: Hold on to something. This may prove to be difficult. Last one, this is Jill about P&G vs. NBC. I never knew she said this.

Primetime Soaps
BTW, PACIFIC PALISADES is one of several short-lived primetime soaps that I have included, complete, in my digital files & I've also done an edit that is simply named "Pacific Palisades, The Other Woman" & people can see that if they want. But, what it is, is a Finola edit, of some perfect line readings, begins when she arrives at the office & approaches the receptionist & ends when she verbally finishes off the actual other woman. You won't have trouble "seeing it" from the episode.

I would imagine Kelly can figure out who in any given room to suck up to in 60 seconds flat. Then, of course, she's quite good at being self-deprecating and humorous at the same time. She is one smart cookie.

I thought about that as a possibility! We know, or I think we do, what kind of pressure can be applied. And we also know that Jill would always like to keep the suits happy if she could. You know that NBC and P&G took turns making decisions on EPs? Well, whether you did know or not, they did. I believe that Jill was an NBC hire. So that would make her even more vulnerable to pressure. At any rate, thanks for looking over the article & giving your impression! Thanks for all of this info on Sandra. I have never understood the nomenclature RoboJohn. When & why was he called this? I mean I get RoJohn from the time when he mistakenly thought he was Roman. But where does "bo" come in?

Admittedly I do not know exactly how this came about, since I like you, would think that DAYS was first his employer and then later AW would have become his employer. What I have, and will post, is a copy of the article where RKK talked about this. So you will be able to see all that I am aware of being known about it. There is another article that at this moment, I cannot find. But this will at least establish the basics. However, I will say in advance that our curiosity may not be satisfied & I intend to continue looking for this other article. Just for your reference, she also was called, at different times, Sandy & at one point at least the surname she used was Robinson. I am personally only aware of her playing Amanda Cory on AW at two different times, in the 80s and then near the end of the show, so late 90s.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

I'm not sure why he has come up here & now. But, I saw mention of JFP "hiring" him at AW. Oddly, he was one actor who had a "Pay or Play" contract with NBC when he was playing Bo at DAYS. They let him go. NBC told Jill that she had to take him because they were not willing to pay him to sit at home. Allegedly Jill didn't want him. However, they sorta became friends. (You know how she is.)- All My Children Tribute Thread
Yes, Robin Christopher, AMC's Skye Chandler, later on AW Lorna #2 & also where she met her husband, IRL I mean.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
Actually, in a way, several people employ her method. Agnes did, by saying it all out loud & it being taped on her dictaphone. Bill Bell said he did it, also, but after he'd said all of it out loud, he did type it up on his trusty IBM Selectric. Jamey Giddens claims to also say everying out loud. he has not said how it gets typed or written down- BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos

Oh, that's such a lovely compliment to Broderick & also to Nixon. Is this Skye a redhead? I ask because more than one actress inhabited the character. Of course I'm not sure Robin Christopher always was a redhead, so I may be leading you into a blind alley.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
THANK YOU!!!! OMG, I cannot say this is a surprise!! I'm so glad you decided to do research today. I couldn't have gotten to it till sometime during our wonderful approaching weekend. I've got to say that this even before your lovely research reinforced some thoughts I've held about him, in the soap universe at least, which would not be classified as positives. Still, very glad you posted the link!- GH: January 2025 Discussion Thread

One of the cuts says it is James Lipton on writing controversial storylines for Another World and other daytime dramas 02:03 And, there was absolutely zero discussion of controversial storylines! Lipton claims that he created LIAMST & I have a feeling that Irna would like to have a word with him about that because I'm pretty sure she created it!!! He was downright offensive if you ask me about schooling the interviewer that he was asking too many questions about soaps & they weren't important enough. Yes, he claims to have always given his all but at the same time they were not a priority for him, instead what they were is the perfect subsidy for him. Oh, wait, I know where they got "controversy". He claims to have been involved in the first story about abortion although they couldn't call it that. They said "illegal medical procedure." - RIP: In Memoriam Thread
