I just listened to James Tupper in a zoom type chat with Sasha Alexander at her IG acct. They are doing Chekhov's THE SEAGULL together. He talked about Anne some & he talked about Atlas some. Atlas is doing well in school & also has friends his own age. Sounds like he's thriving. They talk about Anne openly, often. They go visit her gravesite & take flowers. He said the first thing you notice about Anne is her enormous talent & the second thing is her enormous sweetness. It was good.

I honestly don't recall, so I can't speak to chem, but she & that character were such a treasure. They couldn't have ever gone wrong using her. Ask me, I say MORE please.

They had real problems with too much outdoor noise. You complaint about shaky camera syndrome is a common complaint when people go to handheld digital cameras.

I so totally disagree. Wheeler trying to do what was mandated with nowhere near the fiscal support, what do you imagine had to be done, creativity was all over everything they tried to implement without being anywhere near sufficiently budgeted. There was a good reason why so many people from so many shows visited GL to see what they were doing & how they were doing it.

Way too simplistic for me. Also you're overlooking how bad ATWT got to be. I mean when Chris Goutman said he did NOT want to hear from fans because he knew what the show needed. it was like all arrogance, hubris, Just awful attitude.

In their defense, no one could have done what was needed with the budget they were forced to work with. And, they had some OTJ adjustments to make in the writing but once they got a grip on that I found the writing to be excellent. Shout outs to Jill Lorie Hurst & to Donna Swajeski.

Back for more soap emotional punishment. The Most Ruined. This pains me to make this reply especially because of the reinventing factor & the brilliance in the ideas but because of the failure when we come to implementation, I have to admit that this must go to my beloved GL.

I can't get my signature to change when what I'm trying to do is delete everything
I can't get my signature to change when what I'm trying to do is delete everything. I've done this now 5 times & it just keeps the last sig. Wait, I know. I'll replace the old sig with a dot. Off to try #6, The Workaround. Edit to add: It worked.

I blush when people are very effusive with compliments. I have been accused of not being able to take one. The strong intimation was that it is most ungracious of me.

Yeah, it was Feb. when Drew dropped Carly like a hot potato at the mere mention of Jason's return, right? Then Jason returned. And, yes, Jack Brennan showed up in town. So did John Jagger Cates but he daid' & no one even cares. I do see your point about the kiss being an ending but to me it was instead a beginning. Unless I am way off the show has just created Jackly as an actual couple, potentially rootable & a ship. I liked the fact that when Jack had twist ties in his pocket & intended to kidnap Carly from Bobby's she hit him a major lick with a serving tray & she similarly broke some glass something or other over Valentin's head just two days ago! (When challenged for a ship name for Cody & Molly I came up with Cansing.)

Hmmm. Grumble. Grouse. ... Okay, I pick back up with Alright, though, I will take up the challenge, but I'm going to talk my way through it. Looking at the decimated NY soap scene that I loved so ... it can't be either of the earliest EON or SFT. As I already said there's no way in Hades that it's ATWT. I already said why but add in the Martha Byrne debacle & then, look at the finale, which was just awful. It can't be my precious GL even though it was the only soap that tried to reinvent itself which it gets points for, but it didn't succeed at that & its failure was not even elegant to see, instead it was very ugly & messy but not messy in a good way. So, those are empty points. It can't be my precious AW either even though the people, the cast & staff & crew valiantly fought the good fight to the very bitterest of endings. Then, of course, its two-day finale is absolutely notorious for how it is hated. All that leaves is AMC & OLTL. Oh, wait, I've just ignored RH, LOV, The City ... but realistically it cannot be any of them. BTW, two excellent finales are SFT & RH! This is so hard! Between Agnes's two major ABC babies, which is it? The red-headed stepchild or the diamond in the crown? Okay, OLTL is runner-up & Miss Congeniality. AMC takes the prize. Cue the orchestra to play the theme song.

I very specifically know ATWT does not even have a chance for one huge reason: Chris Goutman. And, of course, many reasons accrue to that major overriding one. ATWT was not only utterly ruined by cancellation from the fan POV of watching it but also from the other POV, going from having the reputation of being the happiest set to work on to one of great & continued stress & misery. IMO, of course.

Oh, darling, this is not at all a cute question! This is a hideously difficult question. Alright, though, I will take up the challenge, but I'm going to talk my way through it. Wait, could I talk you into an alternate question? What soap had the worst finale episode/s? What soap had the best finale episode/s? How about it?

ALL: Extremely long-held secrets that still haven’t been revealed to other characters?
If what was said about Corday beginning modern digitizing of the archive about a decade ago, then all of the Bill Bell years should be ready to be streamed. (Although they had a fire & lost the second season & I'm not sure if Bill Bell was writing that season. If so, one of his years could be the missing one!) Anyway, so many people join you! They would love to see the Bill Bell/DOOL years. I mean the show was due to be canceled & he saved the show! What higher compliment can be paid? 🐐(the GOAT emoji) And, people like me, who saw it in the original want to re-watch!!!!

DAYS: February 2025 Discussion Thread
Got behind on DAYS. Kinda can imagine how it happened. Tried to catch up this weekend. Not gonna make it all the way. I've had this little devil on my left shoulder & it says, WTH the show is awful right now, why not take a break till the third week in April? But, on the other shoulder is an angel who resembles Alice Horton & she has a plate of donuts & she is reminding me that I have watched this show off & on, but mostly on, since 1970. Obviously I'm picking the donut lady. But, I really shouldn't read or post so I’ll see ya on the flip side.
