  2. In the original As The world Turns proposal Grandpa Hughes was Fred, not Thomas. Edith Hughes was Mary and Donald Hughes was Kit short for Chris Jnr
  3. That reference to Scotty and Lee meeting makes it seem like it was the first time but I think earlier in the summaries they did meet-maybe 1966? Barbara X??? what's that about? Maybe Malcolm X's sister? And little Jack that wanted to live with Steve and Audrey was played by Barry Williams -Greg from the Brady Bunch.
  4. Yes I meant that in terms of the adoption dispute with Ellen and the Stewarts. When they arrived in Oakdale they had already adopted Dan and Paul was a little older I believe.
  5. Most reports from that era tend to focus on the Top 10 soaps, but I will keep digging in the hopes of finding something more complete.
  6. It's odd to see Sharon so high when she has no real story and someone like Victoria lower when she seems front burner in comparison.
  7. Let's see...an 83 year old man involved with a woman about 50 years his junior who is pregnant by one of his sons while involved with another...no, nothing creepy there! Michelle Stafford's presence in any story = tank.

  11. i agree that the clothing. particularly on the less wealthy characters was not always authentic. Was this more of an aspirational 80's thing? I remember reading one costume designer admitting that the clothing for the characters was a couple of rungs up on what that character might wear in real life. But it was part of the mindset that viewers wanted a fantasy version of real life.
  12. Love of Live scrubwoman...Pauline McCarthy 1957 Edge of Night Counter girl at hotel cigar stand...Pauline McCarthy 1957 Mrs McCarthy won a competition on The Garry Moore show and part of the prize was one shot appearances on those 2 soaps.

  14. Apparently, the Meadows appeared on ATWT but Ellen did not appear on TBD. Not sure how she came to know them and entrust them with her son or how much play that situation was given on TBD.
  15. Well they are in formal wear for this photo so not reflective of the day to day wardrobe of these characters. I'm sure an attractive, stylish woman like Pat might splurge on a designer dress for a special event. Seeing that always makes me mad that Pat was written out, when she could have been part of a transition to a new era.
  16. Audrey Christie Big Sister Elsie Gates 1938
