It was exactly three years ago in November 2020 and it was worse than the show is now; endless scenes of Abby begging Elena to save Chance’s life while dear Uncle Billy was shown jumping across the rooftops of GC searching for the real assailant as it was the final part of that ridiculous Kansas retcon about the dead gangster. Chance really does need more to do. I can’t believe a charismatic hunk like Connor Floyd isn’t used more…..wait this is JG’s Y&R so I can believe it. 🙄

Ya I remember that Thudley had even offered to be the show’s HW when JFP was looking to replace Altman and Passanante but was turned down in favor of Pratt. And to be fair, LLB is also a contributing factor on how Christine acts. I think LLB was so sick saccharine Cricket which is why she turned many offers to return to Y&R for a few years….she wanted Christine to evolve to a more antagonistic role. Which is why she accepted the 2010 return in where Christine betrayed Nina over the Chance/Ronan stuff as well as been an arch nemesis to both Phyllis and Nikki. It’s also notable as LLB has a had a boat load of kids in real life while Christine is childless. @YRfan23 This episode’s bumpers did remind me of my two favorite mid-90’s Y&R openings though! Also glad today’s flashbacks of Michael and Christine involved the Desmond story lol from 2000. That’s when it was revealed the Chancellor maid Shirley (famously played by Beverly Archer) was actually married to the Desmond Industries CEO. I recall reading a full Desmond family was planned but the it just got postponed and dropped as 2000 went on.

You know, I have always been a major supporter of VR and her plight, yet DD’s “plight” and woes make little sense to me as a whole. I understood it better during Mai’s tenure, but it’s made zero sense under JG lol especially since it sounds like the show actually tried to invite him back? 😅 I feel like if a 95/96 year old Bell was still alive and active like a Jimmy Carter this would have been a full blown week of a Christine tribute. it also makes me wonder why the Bells never brought out their shares of Y&R from Columbia/Sony and made Y&R a Bell production only. The last time JG even tried with a B&B crossover was with Deacon and Nikki, everything else had been a flop.

When did DiMera Enterprises become a thing lol? At least with Titan we knew it was a shipping and publishing conglomerate like Onassis also being used as a front for illegal activities. The DiMera’s never had their own company until this past decade lol. Before that the DiMera’s were based off a mix of old European money and aristocracy supplemented by financial investments and a vast criminal empire.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this SINN reunion as I was bracing for the worst given how ridiculously stupid they made Steffy with her exit. A mix of family time and love making time is a nice surprise for the show’s leading couple. And Kelly has been calling Finn daddy for months now, even back before the beach incident. Of course sperm donor (I like that term lol) is a dead beat, obsessing over something he can’t have while wholly ignoring his two bio daughters and his adopted son.

I actually did think the slimy sleazy smug Leo type of role suits Rikaart a whole lot better, until of course the show became all about “Days of our Leo” instead 😂 Pretty sure Leo is a real life cross of what GR and RC are in real life. The last time GR appeared on Y&R was back in January for TB’s 40th anniversary episode; Let’s Hope Y&R doesn’t do a 20th anniversary episode for GR.

That was the first thing that came to mind, especially after reading a spoiler about And in the past few weeks I’ve gotten very selective with what I will watch on the DVR even more so than usual, especially with having to FF through the recent Newman family dreck.

There isn’t a place for Chelsea whatsoever, she’s just going to be shoe horned in again and feel pointless. Chelsea’s original natural end came in 2016 when she should have left with Adam but the show held on to her. Chelsea could have easily died with Rey last year in that car crash with him. Finally, when Chelsea left this past summer it felt like the perfect opportunity to end the character with her starting anew elsewhere with Connor. Chelsea is essentially the same character as Sally and Chloe are….heck Sally’s story for the past year could’ve easily been given to Chelsea for another go around. The one time schemer with a heart of gold trope has gotten tiresome on Y&R, which is why Audra the unapologetic vixen, Summer the heroine with an edge, and Heather the divorcee make far more interesting leading ladies on the show than those three.

LOL! I had to howl at Katie’s lifeless narration of the show, like HT put in zero effort. Marie Osmond as the countess was totally over the top camp and not in a good way either lol. Esther and Charlie were corny as hell this whole time…this whole crossover was focused on this and not focused on anything Lauren related? And I agree with the above, the show’s ending was very Hokey Pokey silly. Surprised Eric didn’t mention the stapler again 🤣🤣

Well it looks like it is time for November sleeps sweeps lol: First up is Y&R: Victor will decide something unexpected. This might cause big changes at Newman Enterprises and impact everyone in his tests! Christine will reminisce about the past as she celebrates 40 years in Genoa City. She will also engage in an interesting discussions in the present, such as a confrontation with Phyllis Summers and heartfelt conversations with Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, Danny Romalotti, and Nina Webster. Danny will get involved in a fight and tries to make peace. It looks like Danny might have to help Phyllis and Christine settle their argument as a mediator. The past becomes the present when a twisted love triangle looks to develop! Chelsea will come back to Genoa City. She will happily reconnect with Billy and share a kiss with him in the park, much to Adam’s dismay! Devon will learn that Tucker lied about his connection to Mamie. This will lead to concerns about their partnership and plans for Chancellor-Winters. Meanwhile Ashley convinces Mamie to go against Tucker by revealing his bad deeds against the Abbotts, but Mamie will have the last laugh! Kyle will promise to help Tucker with their Jabot takeover plan, but Tucker will test Kyle’s loyalty. Meanwhile Audra plots her own sinister agenda for Jabot and Tucker! Summer will confess her developing feelings for Chance and her plans regarding it. Phyllis will find out about Summer’s emotions and give advice, even if her suggestions aren’t always the best….. SOD awards were always voted in by fans anyways to begin with lol besides the editor’s awards which allowed soaps like AW and Loving to win stuff as well lol but I was thinking of the 1997/1998 controversy of SOD discovered a conspiracy of someone at ABC purchasing and stuffing thousands of ballots 🤣 Unlike the Daytime Emmys which rotated between the Big Three until 2004, the SOD awards always aired on NBC. Probably a saving grace for NBC Daytime lol.

SOD’s content stopped being fun. SOD awards were deliberately rigged and then stopped being held. Thumbs up/down columns, top ten lists, the joke lists, and in depth articles and analysis on shows current and historical storylines became non existent. Fan mail became censored. Softball Interviews became softer than Downy sheets. Carolyn Hinsey became very offensive and very obnoxious. Every other weekly cover became “The Plan to save DAYS!” VCR/DVR alerts became snooze alerts. And ratings boxes were increasingly less exciting and became obscured. At least SOD has never gone the SPW route and tried to cover American Idol and America’s Got Talent for “soapy” content but I digress. I’ve gotten my soap News off the web from SON and other sites for years now rather than SOD.

Not really considering AH is 50 (and HT is 48) while J. Eddie Peck is 65 in real life lol (Cole was obviously supposed to be a lot younger than Peck’s real life age). But it would also explain why she’s interested in Victoria as well. Even if the show said Claire Grace is in her mid-20’s at least HE looks it, where as Marcy Rylan looked mid-30’s trying to play a 21 year old Naked Heiress Abby 🙃 I’m actually surprised Peck or Cole as a character has never been brought back to Y&R, especially since after Peck left Y&R he later paired up with AH’s character on AMC. I was still thinking there is a connection there via Casey maybe?

Pretty much in all echoes of B&B fandom there is total resentment of Liam atm. It’s pure comedy. Just literally two minutes after Ridge agrees with Finn it’s a bad idea to tell Steffy about Deacon & Sheila, yet Liam feels he can protect Steffy from Sheila while raising Hayes…? Is anyone actually happy in B&B’s world verse with this setup?

I went back and listened again as I didn’t hear the trip part the first time. I guess the not good is an ambiguous blanket answer for both questions for the teaser?
