  1. There’s been anecdotes of Grillo having bad on-set behavior over the years going back to his Prison Break days, including an altercation of sort between him and Ryan Reynolds a while back. Grillo in interviews tried to come off as some macho tough guy…I wonder if that’s why him and Moniz eventually divorced. Not to mention Grillo committed securities fraud before his acting career, yikes. I don’t know why they didn’t recast Hart, but I suppose with Grillo being the 5th actor to play Hart in such a short time period I guess the show was done with the character. Minus the never ending angel story, Hart’s murder was a chilling conclusion to the Dinah/Hart/Cassie triangle. I suppose at worst we would have seen Hart #6 rescue Cassie from San Cristobel over and over again.
  2. Hopefully that does happen. Bill and Liam really don’t have a place on the show anymore and yes, Kelly calls Finn “daddy”.
  3. Not surprised about Darin Brooks either, he’s had one foot out of the door for a couple years now working on other projects, although it seemed he had appeared a lot more in 2023 than he did in either 2021 and 2022. Earlier this year Wyatt mentioned he was single, I guess he broke up with Felony Flo who’s been gone for like 3 years now LMAO. I wonder what Wyatt’s offscreen is exit will be? He went to live with Quinn? I also appreciated the Li vs Sheila scenes in Thursday’s episode, we need more of this.
  4. And Talia had been on the show for less than six months no? I really can’t imagine the special kind of backstage hell on earth that went on during Alan Alarr’s final months.
  5. Haha when do you think Nikki crossed over to the point of messy matriarch/grande dame category? I was actually thinking of this the other day and was thinking Nikki was last one to carry on the tradition of messy matriarch in the same vein of Jennifer, Katherine, Vanessa, Mary, Alison, Joanna, Lillie Belle, and Dina.
  6. Today’s show again reminds me of how isolated (and well, pointless lol) the Newmans have become from the rest of the show. Other than Nate and Audra as interlopers, there’s literally nothing going on here with Victor’s scheme being essentially stillborn/DOA from the get go.
  7. Li hasn’t been an endearing character herself…remember this the same woman who let everyone think Finn was dead, berated, bullied, and blamed Steffy, and also encouraged her son to commit manslaughter. I’d like Li for being a frosty nasty mother in the Bell tradition of something like an Alison Bancroft or a Lilli Belle Barber, just make it make sense lol.
  8. Eric talking about that stupid stapler again 🤣😂 I fully expect another twist about Li, Poppy, and Luna. That story today sounded too tame lol.
  9. The Li/Luna scenes actually hold my interest I’m curious what the backstory is going to be about why Li hates her sister and niece so much, especially it seems that Li barely knows anything about Luna. At least Li is a nice throwback to the frosty, controlling yet messy mother type that use to dominate both the Bell shows.
  10. No kidding. GL finally went on a creative upswing in the fall of ‘87. Looking at that last batch of ratings I’m surprised to see how close both Loving and SB came so close to overtaking AW….wow. It’s interesting SoapNet chose to start their AW reruns from that roughly that same summer time period.
  11. Her intro fell flat but her subsequent scenes with Nikki only have worked interestingly. Maybe it would have worked more interestingly for Nikki to call up Claire to come to GC and let everyone try to guess who Claire was Nikki’s new pet project. So true. I think the Newman drama would have been better if Nate, Audra, and Tucker had managed to wrestle complete control over what once was a family company, kind of exactly with what Victor had done with Jabot way back in the day with Adam and Victoria agreeing to work together to one day take back control when the opportunity arose.
  12. Newman family drama is zzzzz IMO but I’m glad to see EB is looking well onscreen again. At least we finally have a storyline addressing Victor’s age and health. Victoria smashing that picture at the end though. Nikki and Claire are clearly going to be connected somehow IMO. I’m thinking she’s going to be some lost daughter of Casey’s.
  13. Y&R: I would say on Y&R bringing back Diane in 1996 and Brad in 1998, despite the slow starts, definitely got the ball rolling again for the many of show’s biggest storylines from 1997-2004ish. Not a traditional return per se but ED’s return to the role of Ashley completely rejuvenated the character in 1999. When ED first left the role in ‘88, Ashley was Y&R’s #2 leading lady after Nikki. When BE left the role in ‘95, Ashley was like #5 behind Nikki, Victoria, Nina, and Dru. When SS left the role, Ashley was basically at the bottom lol, far behind eve mid to lower tier ladies like Megan, Tricia, Grace, heck even Callie at that point. ED successfully turned Ashley back into a top tier character again despite being in storyline hell at the beginning. ATWT: Carly’s 1997 return essentially started a storyline that would last til the end and her return came at a time when the show was really bad; same goes for better for worse for Holden’s return earlier that same year. Days: Don’t think I saw anyone mention it yet, but Nicole’s return in 2008 completed turned around and gave new life to a dead end character that I didn’t think we’d ever see again when JER had let Nicole wither out with a blink if you miss it line about Nicole leaving town in early 2006. GL: Probably not as popular lol but I actually liked Rick’s return and also the revelation about Rick and Annie’s past. Not to mention I was a big fan of Rick and Abby I’m sorry the show just wasn’t able to sustain it long-term or keep them as the tent pole couple they should have been.
  14. Which is unfortunate as that didn’t happen as she is still the current basis of Devon and Nate’s absolute hatred of each other. It would have been interesting to see Elena plot against both Victoria and Abby. I mean I don’t have much sympathy for Elena and was at one time highly anticipating Imani just stealing Nate away from her and her being left alone to commiserate. It would be a shame to just let her fade away considering all the drama in the past centered around her with at least getting a final resolution.
  15. Lol Marie Osmond….and an Esther crossover? I mean I adore Linder but this sounds a bit silly? Osmond’s character sounds like it should have been Macy instead. I guess that cryptic interview Bobbie Eakes gave a few months saying Macy was alive as she never died on screen was just much ado about nothing?
  16. Tuesday’s episode felt more like a Friday episode lol. Although why in the world was Li just randomly allowed to roam the Forrester Creations building like that? Charlie is doing a really shitty job as Forrester’s security officer!
  17. Totally agree. I actually wish the show had been able to bring back SW as Diane years ago instead of having to endure Jack with characters like Genevieve, Kelly etc. Even if Maura was totally miscast in the role, killing off the character was such a bad mistake. Diane’s resurrection rejuvenated the Abbot family and I hope Jack and Diane will stay happily married and deal with the family drama instead.
  18. Lord I’m praying there is not going to be a “Fope”, “Hinn” and what not. The last thing we need to see is a newly returned Steffy coming home to see Finn and Hope kissing and then run off to sleep with that little puke Lame. Finn telling Sheila and Deacon to go back to Genoa City was priceless LOL. Might not be a bad idea, if only to see the reactions of Lauren, Nikki, and Diane.
  19. Linc was such a convoluted character it’s hard to remember his full history as he was all over the place for years. He tangled with Lily, had a very messy history with Julie, and later had affairs with Connor and Debbie. Lonnie McCullough was playing Linc when Linc was involved with Sharon Case’s Debbie and subsequently murdered by her father Ned. Agreed. My opinion on Heather has changed over the years. Back then I couldn’t stand her but to see the material again I’ve softened a lot on Heather’s portrayal. Unfortunately the breaking point for me is how much whining Lily did by the fall of 1992 into very early 1993. MB could’ve gotten away with it but not HR. Major yikes. I enjoyed those Lily years as well, mainly because I preferred Lily and Damian together but the triangle with Holden was well played, with Holden’s return being the best thing for Lily at a chaotic time for her.
  20. I would’ve gone with Susan Sullivan before Loni lol for an 80’s diva, especially since Susan still makes the guest circuit rounds. @Khan @DRW50 @Vee I vaguely recall us discussing Burt & Loni’s infamous and disastrous early 1990’s divorce that splashed everywhere, from Marilu Henner stating that as successful Evening Shade was it was abruptly cancelled because of the divorce, while Loni had to make do with roles of the syndicated New WKRP and a very thankless role of Golden Girls/Empty Nest spinoff Nurses.
  21. Michelle Stafford was on fire 20 years ago and everything she did i from her return in 2000 up through about 2004/2005 was absolutely on point so at the time it was easier to root for Phyllis. At the time Phyllis’ loyalty to Newman as an employer was in question not to mentioned Phyllis was legally Kyle’s mother at that point until Diane sued against Jack & Phyllis and then conveniently bailed Jabot out with her divorce money from Victor. Back when Y&R had good writing too.
  22. @Taoboi I was waiting for your thoughts on this week tbh 🙂 I think Claire Grace works on paper but HE is a miscast IMO. Erin’s contemporaries in AL, ZS, and CH each have such distinctive looks and vibes about themselves while HE felt liked a washed up has been. Actually when in that first scene she kind of looked like Hunter King to me. I guess we’ll see where character goes beyond I actually found Friday’s Danny & Phyllis scenes interesting tbh. It was 20 years ago back in 2003 when Danny and Phyllis had a quiet yet major iconic confrontation in the GCAC when the encountered each other for the first time since 1998 (minus Phyllis being haunted by Danny’s memory when she was in jail in 2002) so for me that was a nice throwback moment. @YRfan23
  23. She’s definitely been the highlight for this week so far! This is so much better that her blink if you missed it return for the 50th earlier this year and I am hoping she stays around for a while. I’d be disappointed if it’s someone already on canvas. I’d love for her co-hort to be another family member i.e. Malcolm or Olivia. Definitely feel the same here. When Jill appeared at the end of Wednesday’s episode it definitely felt like a classic Y&R moment, a nice throwback to the days when a Y&R cliffhanger could end a simply be Jill showing up at Katherine’s, Jack walking into Victor’s office etc. Heather didn’t know Paul was her father for a good chunk of her life, she just knew Paul as a very close family friend. This was because Paul just wasn’t ready for marriage/fatherhood way back so Paul and April divorced. Later in the 90’s Paul played savior/hero to April and Heather from April’s abusive husband but the truth wasn’t revealed yet. Later in 2007 when Heather came back to Genoa City she reconnected with Paul but it wasn’t until 2008 when Heather finally learned Paul was her actual father.
  24. Hope & Finn……? Great. NOT!! 🤢 With that flashback at the end I have a bad feeling where this is going. I was holding out for hope for the rumor/theory that Macy was her mother after that Bobbie Eakes interview was true lol but at least this should provide some temporary drama. And yeah CH’s Sally should still be on B&B as a viable character and viable rival to both Steffy and Hope. I don’t why Thudley dropped the ball there, and especially to sacrifice Sally for a character who’s not even on the show anymore.
  25. I was thinking today when was the last time we saw Elena? Giving pediatric advice to Tessa? Not that Elena is missed but her story has come to an end. Her plan to bring back JT to Genoa City went nowhere fast which I was interested in seeing Elena take a more villainous role. Alas this reminds me of how Lola quietly burned out in her final months.
