  1. One interesting thing I never realized but we’ve hinted at is that fact that Wednesday nights at 10PM became a low rated dead zone for the Big 3 starting with the 86-87 season with Hotel’s decline and lasting into the early 90’s until the rise of Primetime Live and Law & Order in that timeslot. The nadir for that timeslot probably had to be the 1990-91 season where the notorious Cop Rock on ABC along with Gabriel’s Fire, Hunter’s final season on NBC (moved from Saturdays) and the John Shea freshman drama WIOU each failed abysmally in that slot. The 8-10 hours seemed to do okay enough for ABC and moderately for NBC though.
  2. LOL was that her? Honestly rewatching those scenes it actually made me wonder for real if someone had intended for Gary’s mystery woman to end up being Jill alive in the flesh but that might have been too much for a primetime soap at the time as we were still 5 years away from a dead Kimberly being alive on Melrose.
  3. We’ll find out soon enough when Kevin from Y&R crosses over to play match maker for RJ and Will while secretly sleeping with Thomas on the DL while Hope rips off a mask to reveal Ally Forrester underneath.
  4. The two immediate CBS talents that spring to mind are Frank Runyeon on Falcon Crest and Michael Wilding Jr. Runyeon’s FC character was a horrendous terribly acted mess though, and well the less we speak of Wilding Jr.’s Alex the better 🙈 Can’t speak of any CBS actresses though that I can recall right off bat which is very unfortunate. Back to Knots…..it’s funny I always found Tom so smarmy, but I do feel bad Greg and Anne set him up to fail. In retrospect I do like Tom and Paige watching this go around…and I forgot Tom lasted as long as he did…so it’s funny now thinking that Greg and Anne put all that energy into the ruining the couple, only for Paige to outright dump Greg for good in Back to the Cul-de-Sac reunion series. Yeesh. Ah the rise of Linda…she’s also the only thing I remember liking about S12. Galina IMO worked better as the mysterious Mary Frances and I think Noone could have easily been a Jane recast….probably would have been more interesting than the pointless than Kate and Claudia.
  5. @Khan Like other daytime stars of that era trying to do fading primetime soaps they probably did. That said Strasser got an even worse recurring roles on both Coach and Dear John afterward and 2000 Malibu Rd also wasted her so I don’t if that was what she had in mind at all before returning to daytime. But in regards to Peyser yes, yikes! I thought I remembered Gary’s mystery woman in a previous post amounting to nothing and I was right aside her just being Danny’s ex. Peyser was better off screen lol. And thanks for clearing that up! Moody would end up being wasted as well from show to show in the 90’s as well.
  6. Agreed although it was definitely not a complete clean break as Karen was going on about for Abby as it did feel like she was leaving partly in fear for her life. But yes haha that last scene she had with Ted totally felt like a red herring just like I remember my preteen self thinking something bad was about to happen but of course it didn’t lol. I love seeing Robin Strasser as the unscrupulous Dianne here on KL again. Compared to all the other big daytime stars who did primetime soaps around this time I feel this works much better than the rest and better than Susan Lucci on Dallas. I also got too see Paula’s exit as I hoped this evening here and it was just as good as I remembered @DRW50 Only major issue outside of Danny/Val I have so far with S11 is why bring back Mary Frances just to kill her off, wasting Paula too soon, and why did Pat have to die? Not surprising fare from the same woman who later killed off Dru on Y&R.
  7. Yeah Thudley is doing a number isn’t he? Admittedly evil Luna wearing all black leather today was campy as hell though.

  9. Ugh lol @YRfan23 Now don’t tell me that @Soapsuds theory of DID is correct and Luna has an alter named “Soleil” or something 🤣
  10. Sigh. All the three Lorimar soaps lost their major iconic leading actress at the end of the 88-89 season I’m at least glad in Mills’ case she left on her own accord and terms. It’s interesting all three Lorimar soaps also ended out on quiet finales for a change (Sue Ellen’s movie on Dallas, Richard waiting for his arrest on FC, and Paige left standing in the rain on Knots) yet David Paulsen let Dynasty end the season and the 80’s in a blaze of glory with everyone except Sammy Jo in peril. 🙈🤣
  11. Watching towards the end of Season 10 I forgot how WTF Abby’s final story and exit with that creepy Ted was before she left along with the final end of Lotus Point, although her scenes with Karen were great as well as her final scene with Brian in the limo. What did you all think of Abby’s strange exit story? Poor Brian will get left behind in LA and have to enroll at West Beverly Hills High the following year 🤣🤣 Poor Val straddled with Danny I hate seeing that knowing what’s going to happen next. Good to see Paula though for sure as I really enjoyed the character in Season 11. She was a great character and written off too soon, I hope I can catch her very memorable exit episode. I don’t recall much happening with Gary and the mystery woman after he gets off the hook for Jill’s suicide. I seem to recall they have a brief romp and then poof she’s gone. Looking forward to at least seeing some of S11 particularly Linda’s arrival and the whole triangle between Eric and Michael before Steve Shawn’s tragic demise. I was always glad we at least had a makeup scene between the two brothers in Shaw’s last episode he did before his death.
  12. I’m wondering now where is this Luna thing is going with Steffy being the one to see them kiss for a second time…Steffy says she is leaving town, wonder if Luna kidnaps her something. I too liked RB’s performance as well today although I need to see more of this and where it goes before I can accept her as Taylor 3.0
  13. B&B: @Maxim Don’t forget back in 2006 Ridge and Brooke had their own trashy “high on coffee syrup” rape (similar to Malcolm and Dru) but it was played for laughs and just served as an excuse for Brooke to sleep with Nick again. GL: Gilly almost sleeping with her biological father discovering the truth right as she was seducing him. ATWT: Julia’s rape of Jack, Marshall’s “no means yes” rape of Jessica, and well where do I continue? Y&R: The Adam and Sharon “gothic romance” that occurred between 2009-12 was one of the most inappropriate pairings I have ever seen based on what he did to her. Days: Same with the above with EJ and Sami. Gross. Not surprisingly my ATWT, Days, and Y&R choices were all written by the same writer 🤢😵‍💫 The less said about some of the outlandish bathroom stuff Reilly gave us and later Pratt gave us the better.
  14. Amazingly KL bounced back to #27 and #29 respectively for the 88-89 and ‘89-90 seasons, although I know for myself by fall ‘89 I was definitely watching LA Law more than Knots. Still unlike the other major primetime soaps it didn’t ever fall out of the top 50. Still funny to think it did overlap with stuff like Twin Peaks, 90210, Melrose, Sisters, Picket Fences, and Law & Order which of course later dethroned that #2 longest running drama claim to fame in 2004. Actually the 1992-93 season wiped out what the 91-92 season didn’t already obliterate, so it was definitely fitting end of the 80s that season as I can’t imagine Knots continuing on after that at all, unless CBS decided to swipe Chuck Pratt (Major shudder!) to “liven” it up. 🤢 I will say at least the ‘87 episodes actually do a early 90’s vibe to them despite some hairstyles and music, which I think being more grounded in reality helped the show’s longevity and getting that Season 10 jolt.
  15. We’re in era of Knots were I started watching in the late 80’s so this season 9-10 opening was technically the first opening of Knots I really remember very vividly. Before that I and my brothers were usually sent to bed after Night Court lol. I know it’s very polarizing and I have my own issues with the Latham/Lechowick era (I agree with the others about the bad writing for Val!) but overall I enjoyed for better or for worse, until as @Khan pointed it was Linda’s traumatic murder at the start of S13 that left me in the cold about the show as whole. I do hate Laura got written out they way she did. McCashin’s head spin in the opening was my favorite. BTW the cement cracking above Peter’s grave is one of my favorite KL cliffhangers, although I think it is very messy. What did you all think Peter’s murder?
  16. @Vee I appreciate the Season 7 rundown as well and your analysis, always a pleasure! What did you think of the whole Ben & Cathy story towards the end of the season? This is the first time in a good 10+ years I’ve watched this part of Knots I feel like this could have been a better ending for Ben as if I recall right next season he gets involved with the evil spy and ends up dead by season’s end. Just watched Sheridan’s first episode and wow she looks so young with that short hair. Hunt Block is just as slimy and smarmy as ever as Peter LOL.
  17. Another week has gone by, so let’s recap: -The Kyle vs Summer story is still the highlight of the week so far. It was good to get those Chance and Summer scenes as well. I like the idea of Summer looking to dig up dirt on Audra. This why I wish Chance had gone onto being a PI instead of whatever the heck he is doing now lol. -Enjoyed Friday’s scenes with Audra and Nate with Audra already scheming against our poor wittle spoiled brat Kyle LOL. -Good to see Traci and Martin again and in Geona City. I don’t know though if there is going to be anything more done with Martin though after that strange abrupt ending to Ashley’s DID story that didn’t explain too much. -Umm the scenes with Claire and Victoria were nice but we aren’t seeing any new ground here. -Thursday’s episode reminded us that Sharon is definitely not out the woods yet but why it took almost a full week for the show to pick it back up is just about as bonkers as Sharon is. -The rest of the week was hogged up with hogwash I don’t care for. Abbott-Chancellor is like the most pointless business story ever written. Adam/Chelsea is such low stakes drama as is OCD Connor’s return home. I mean I feel bad Sally is going to get hurt but I feel nothing for Billy. This hogwash was unnecessary and now it’s dragging out unnecessarily. Time for the truth to come out and move on. Idk I don’t like the amount of time Billy and Sally keep spending together though. Don’t tell me we’re going to get some listless quad out of this. -Finally I hope Victor shuts Phyllis down.
  18. That at home DNA test is in the same category as “non-alcoholic wine that tastes line wine!”, voice-changing app, heart beat tracking ring, “mints”, and “futuristic laser surgery”.
  19. “Hello Brooke. Yes it is I Taylor. Dr. Taylor Hayes. I am your arch nemesis. Taylor Hayes. Dr. Taylor Hayes. You remember well that I, Taylor, am Ridge’s ex wife and mother to Steffy and Thomas. We have fought for years endlessly over ridge. I, Taylor, Taylor Hayes am back…” 🤣🤣🤣
  20. Spoilers for the week of August 19th: Bill is blindsided and shocked by Luna's kiss Li is swept with emotion by Poppy's pleas Dr. Taylor Hayes makes her return to Los Angeles known Taylor visits Ridge, stating her piece about Brooke Logan Steffy's world turns upside down when she learns of Hope's ultimate betrayal Steffy makes a hard decision regarding her marriage before she confronts Hope The Forrester / Logan tensions rise when Taylor walks in as Brooke reveals Hope's kiss to Ridge Katie gets the pleasure of having been right about Poppy all along Steffy witnesses something she wishes she hadn't
  21. And her introduction will go like this: ”Hi Steffy, it’s me Taylor Hayes, your mom, Taylor. Dr. Taylor Hayes. I was married to your dad Ridge and I’m also Thomas’ mother. I once had this rivalry with Brooke…”
  22. So true, and I haaaaated Thudley gave us not one but TWO rounds of it. I also felt ickified by the whole stuff with Rick & Phoebe and Rick & Steffy. Like why??
  23. It’s almost like Ridge and Bridget all over again 🤮
  24. She did fine acting wise but yeah it does feel underwhelming to me. I’m curious to see how she does once she shares scenes with TK Ridge and KKL. I totally can’t wait to see this next week based on the previews! Hope is so going down!
  25. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 On the flip side RB does not work for me as Taylor at all. Maybe if she had been a Jessica Forrester recast or something, but she is not giving me any Taylor vibes at all. Might as well be a new character.
