Someone on Reddit mentioned they hope he keeps his hair. There are too many men on this show with similar styling, and I agree. If I have to wait for my Black Mason Capwell, I’ll make due with some braids.

Again, I’d love to see him move to Fairmont Crest permanently. The Bell soaps don’t know how to write for Black folks (B&B only had a moment with the Avants). I don’t want to see an elderly Patrick Thornhart growling at Dani like he gargled a bunch of razor blades.

He’s divine.

I’m kinda here for it for the messy drama (even if it’s a fake out—would love to see Dani’s reaction since she thinks he hung the moon). But the writing for Black men on this show leaves a lot to be desired, and it would feel like a retread after Ted.

DLF is solid eye candy.

Genius. You’re hired. And a person’s sexuality can evolve. Tired of these shows’ essentialism. I’m still pissed the show didn’t go there with Kyle and Theo, making them cousins instead. (It’s still insulting how this show has treated M2M sexuality, going back to Adam/Rafe, P3 faking his death because he was gay, and that drive-by coming out from Fen.)

Those tight, bicep-strangling polos on Mike Manning leave little to the imagination, so they may as well go that step further with Smitty. It’s not like he’s shy. We’ve seen Doug shirtless in bed with Vanessa (quite impressive, I might add—love me some Jason Graham) as well as Tomás’s tattooed torso when he finally hooked up with Kat.

I would be sad, but I’d understand. She’s a rare find.

He kinda looks like a blend of Kyler Pettis and Cameron Johnson, with a touch of Corbin Bleu thrown in. I no longer watch DAYS, but give me interesting Black men on daytime, please. Where are Brandon and Jonah?

You’d think CBS would jump at any opportunity to promote that it’s the only broadcast lineup with multiple soaps, including the first in a half-century. But October seems like such a stupid time for the Academy hold a ceremony that will barely command decent ad rates and is smack-dab in the middle of network premiere season. The traditional late May or early June (when the similarly niche Tonys air) would seem to be the best option, since season finales will already have aired. They must have figured it was more trouble than it’s worth, even to just slap it on Paramount+. (Live broadcasts are a pain for these streamers. Even Hulu made a sh!tshow out of the freaking Oscars, blacking out before Best Actress and Best Picture.)
