I think Mishael has a facility with the formal, somewhat unnatural dialogue that Karla didn’t have, and it really changes the tenor of those scenes (for the better by leaps and bounds… it really drives home how talented MiMo is). You can have an educated, upper-crust family without making them sound like robots… Y&R is really doing them a disservice. Speaking of bad, this Tara actress is a miss. If they intend for the character to stick around, they need to recast. That’s not to say that this story can be saved (even Richard Burgi feels stiff in his role), but she still is conspicuously bad.

Sloane has seemingly picked a good moment to peak after what seems like forever. Let’s see if she can keep it up. Serena just beat Danielle Collins, and Coco is still in it.

Ha at the bold. I like Sonja too, but I do worry that she could heading for tragedy.

That’s the thing about these shows. If they acknowledged the omnipresence of cameras in our lives (or cell phones, etc.), most of their stories wouldn’t be possible. Like Ryan Chamberlain skulking around Port Charles in public places committing murders undetected.

I swear… Kei is one of the most frustrating players to support.

In hindsight, I’m glad Luann wasn’t fired and she really delivered and evolved over time, but at the time, sheesh, I wanted her gone.

I actually thought she needed to be fired along with Jill and Kelly that season. Was not a good look for her. Still, her behavior with both Sonja and Eboni had a weird gratuitous edge to it that disturbed me.

Well, since the big reveal has aired, I guess Maxie will want to call “backsies” on giving her child away to Brook Lynn and Valentin?

Oh no worries at all. I’m sort of disappointed in the Countess this year so far. I will say I’m mostly enjoying this season. I like Eboni a lot, and she’s definitely more than capable of holding her own with these ladies. What we’re seeing is the uneasy first steps of integrating these long-standing mostly white casts. As others have said, I’m sure it’s exhausting for Eboni to have to be a “teacher,” but it’s also exhausting and very unpleasant to watch. Been there, done that. Hopefully Eboni’s tease about her and the women coming to an understanding post-Hamptons leads to a more enjoyable viewing experience. One thing I’ll add is that if Bravo were casting a RHONY from scratch in 2021, they’d likely pull from a group of women with much more racially diverse social bonds. Sure, race and microaggressions would come up, but it would be far less “on the nose” and afterschool special-y.

Oh I agree about her below-the-belt, uncalled-for comments re: Sonja. She was kicking Sonja when she was down on that bus ride, and I’m also glad Eboni defended Sonja.

That Eboni/Luann fight made me uncomfortable. Eboni *really* hit a nerve with Luann, who’s had some major dust-ups over the years (like Bethenny calling her a “slut” in the Berkshires or her interactions with Dorinda and Alex). I’ve never seen Luann react so viciously to someone. I love Luann. She’s probably my favorite HW of all, but her energy this season is very heavy and off, even with her new man. Maybe her struggle to stay sober isn’t helping. Ramona was just… Ramona. Leah is just antics. This was maybe the first time I thought her tears were real.

Yeah, I just feel like the charts need to better reflect how people consume music. We’re in an age when data are more ready available. I’m sure the industry loves to incentivize sales. But one big thing is stop counting 50,000 remixes towards one song.
