  1. It's like DAYS or the NBC promo department is trying to appeal to "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries" fans. Leave it to DAYS (or Ron Carlivati) to turn even an exorcism into wacky hijinks.
  2. How DARE you call the lady who played Betty Childs in the "Revenge of the Nerds" films a D-list celebrity?
  3. Well, after all, this IS DAYS. Can't say that I blame Anna for reacting the way she does to Maggie's suggestion that Tony move in with Sarenee. In fact, if I were LH, I would've ad-libbed a few NSFW obscenities, too, lol. I mean, the "story" has already exploded the boundaries of intelligence and good taste; now, we're gonna have Maggie ask Tony to MOVE IN with the crazy heffa? SERIOUSLY?? I'm just glad that NBC's promo department chose to play it all for laughs, because, honestly, everything happening on the show right now is so silly and low-stakes, DAYS might as well be rebranded as a sitcom with running storylines.
  4. What does she specifically about that? I'd watch and find out for myself, but...sigh...not with Alan Locher, lol. IIRC, TP has mentioned in the past that there was tension between her and Robert Calhoun. Did she touch on that at all?
  5. Granted, I wasn't around for much of the Asa/Samantha storyline, but to me, it just seems really gross, lol.
  6. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: wypipo have always lived under this cloud of existential doom, because they're the only race (for lack of a better word) without a true, ancestral homeland. Wherever they've traveled, they've always ended up being escorted out. Ergo, this is their last stand for supremacy (at least, in this country). If they can't beat back the changing demographics here, then that's pretty much the ballgame for them.
  7. Awesome! I'd wondered what had happened to him. I still remember when he made a cameo on an episode of "Moonlighting," catching up viewers once again on the latest between David and Maddie. Thanks, @DRW50!
  8. The '80's were rough for many of DAYS' old guard. The Hayeses and Jed Allan left, John Clarke and Suzanne Rogers were virtually reduced to recurring characters, Joe Gallison was okay as long as Gloria Loring was still on the show, even poor Macdonald Carey and Frances Reid had to make do with cutesy storylines about tainted doughnuts and writing poetry under assumed names. Deidre Hall managed to survive, but it seems like the show de-aged Marlena while evolving her into a more action/adventure-type of heroine.
  9. It's Nina. Oh, wait, wrong show.
  10. Is "Jeff Jarvis" the guy who used to be "The Couch Critic" for TV Guide?
  11. Two that I can think of right off the bat: 1) Greg (Laurence Lau)/Jenny (Kim Delaney)/Jesse (Darnell Williams)/Angie (Debbi Morgan)/Liza (Marcy Walker)/Tad (Michael E. Knight)/Amanda (Amanda Bearse)/Alfred (Bill Timoney) on AMC. 2) Phillip (Grant Aleksander)/Beth (Judi Evans)/Rick (Michael O'Leary)/Mindy (Krista Tesreau) on GL.
  12. Please, dear God, don't let it be Patty.
  13. Here's what I want to know: have SSH and SR ever criticized RC's writing, either to the media, or BTS? Because, if they have, that might have something to do with his treatment of them in his work.
  14. Yup, it is, lol. I thought it was Beth? Maybe Dinah was making those cracks, too? IDK. It just seemed like cheap shots at the ALWAYS gorgeous Maeve Kinkead's expense.
  15. Probably. I remember various characters referring to her as a "slut" on several occasions - beginning immediately with Echo's reintroduction at Dorian's house. Maybe they were all references to the fact that KZ once portrayed the self-proclaimed "Slut of Springfield," but if you never watched an episode of GL in your life, then you probably never got the jokes - if that's what they, in fact, were - and if you didn't get the jokes, then you likely thought it was cruel, even toward a known homewrecker like Echo DiSavoy, and, well, slut-shamey.
  16. That's the thing about Ron Carlivati: it all looks and sounds innocent enough AT FIRST. Then, one crack becomes two, two cracks become three, and so on and so forth, until it's practically all you hear and/or see whenever the actor/character is even mentioned. It's what eventually happened with Sean Kanan and the "fat jokes" on GH - not to mention, Heather's sudden, irrational cravings for BLT's on the same show - as well as what happened on DAYS with Julie and all the times RC had her spitefully call Gabi "Chiquita." (I swear, there's literally an entire generation of DAYS fans who are CONVINCED that Julie, once one of daytime's most complex and beloved anti-heroines, is a racist old bitty, and that's enough to make me cry.) I wouldn't be surprised if, before too long, he'll have EVERYbody in Salem making cracks about how long in the tooth Maggie's getting while she suffers from bladder control issues and "leaks" on her and Victor's couch. That crass, unfunny jackhole just doesn't know when to stop.
  17. Agree. If Frank and Ron (and ABC) wanted to bring OLTL fans over to GH, why not just hire two or three of the most popular actors from the former show to play newly created roles on the latter one? I mean, that's kind of what they ended up doing anyway, so....
  18. Suddenly, I'm having flashbacks to all those times when Ron Carlivati would write "AJ/Sean Kanan is SOOOOOOOOO fat" jokes on GH.
  19. No one outside of the Bell family has ever owned even a portion of B&B. That's how Bill and Lee Phillip Bell wanted it when they created and developed the show. That way, they could keep B&B in the family, without any meddling from any outside, corporate entities.
  20. For me, all the magic for the NB left the year PC tied it in with the General Homicide murders. But, leave it to Lynn Marie Latham to take something that was supposed to bring awareness to AIDS and turn it into a backdrop for a grisly, confusing serial killer tale.
  21. Why do you insist on that (our going off as fans and creating our own shows) as being the solution to all the troubles that plague these shows? Sure, we could go create our own stuff if we had to, or wanted to, but why should we? Why can't we just hold to the proverbial fire the feet of those who are being paid to write and produce the shows still on the air? Is it really so bad just to ask those jackholes to do better, to try harder, to not bore the audience or insult their intelligence or tastes on a regular basis?
  22. I tend to think it's the former. People joke all the time about "participation trophies," but they're real, and who do you think "earned" them? It certainly wasn't the Gen-X'ers! We were conditioned to live in a society that didn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about us, lol!
