Haha. Thanks! It is good to see a lot of old AMC-ers. Michael Knight (but I guess he's gone now?) Alexa, Cameron, Finola, even Genie and Maurice were on AMC for a bit. I was never a fan of Ryan on AMC, but CM seems to show some range with Drew. Oh and JPS (Valentin) was on AMC too. Also, forgot Eva 🙂

I am watching GH really for the first time. I know of the characters in general. I'm watching for AHB. I was a big AMC fan.. I did some research about Charlotte as Lulu's daughter. I am still super confused after reading about her parentage. Lulu was a surrogate? Valentin is the father, but another woman thought she was the mother? Help it make sense! And I gave up trying to understand how Drew and Jason are identical twins..

Yes, it was a good year. Jean Dadario Burke was an underrated EP for AMC. During her tenure there was a stellar cast, great background music, awesome sets, and good writing. They also just came off from winning the 1998 emmy for outstanding drama. That was credited to Francesa James though..

Everything is so muddled now between broadcast, cable, daytime/primetime, and streaming. I don't think the platform really matters. Several shows have jumped around between all. Yellowstone, Only Murders in the Building, Star Trek .. etc. If it creates buzz and is well done, it will be successful.

Gotcha, hopefully he will pull anyone back that strays from the original concept.

AMC was on point with their background music in this era. IMO JDB was a pretty good EP. The sets were really good during her time too.

Why does Blair even need Tracy if she developed the Deceptor? Couldn't she file a suit on her own? Tracy really has nothing to do with it.

You're right that they never competed head-to-head. But, the shows did compete for the number 1 spot in the ratings for many years. There was also kind of an unwritten rivalry as to which was the "crown jewel" of ABC.

Yep! GH was pretty much a rival soap to AMC for decades, even though they shared a network. (Emmys, ratings - etc.) Susan Lucci still sees it that way IMO. She is super loyal to AMC. It would almost be like sacrilege to cross over...

I think GH is being carried by HULU financially. That's where I watch. They don't seem to have any budget issues with the cast, and bring on fresh sets almost every week..

I think they had Susan Lucci in mind and she turned them down.. So KDP was the next choice. They'll have to somehow explain how Jackson/Pine Valley comes into play.

The Pine Valley connection doesn't make sense if Blair is the 3rd ex-wife.

I watched the days that the Pine Valley and Jack stuff were on, but fast forwarded through everything else. Nothing held my interest. I have checked back in a few times and it seems like they have dropped the storyline with Micheal E Knight's character Martin Grey. He has a mystery ex-wife living in Pine Valley.
