  1. I loved today's episode! The flashback really humanized Dana for me, and I wish we had seen more of this a bit earlier. Dana thanking Martin and Vernon for keeping Bigfoot and Atlantis secret was hilarious. Jan instantly elevated the Ashley and Derek scenes with her presence and I like that we are finally seeing some real conflict between the two of them. I was hoping that there would be some Supreme-sized drama surrounding the Articulettes's breakup and it was confirmed today. Telma Hopkins and Valarie Pettiford for Sharon and Tracy? I know they have been on Y&R recently but I don't watch. Are they still there?
  2. On Coronation Street, Elsie's exit scene was the character walking down the street, remembering some of her iconic lines as the walked past her and her neighbors' homes. The lines were re-recorded by Pat Phoenix. For a show that never used flashbacks this was a very affecting scene. 27 years later, the same concept was used with Liz, this time using audio from past episodes. This was great too, but Liz came back just a couple years later, while Elsie was gone for good after her exit. I just thought of a Coronation Street example even more in line with @Maxim's topic. The first episode in 1960 started with two girls playing outside the corner shop, then moved to a scene between two women inside. The show's 10,000th episode started the same way with Ruby and Hope playing outside the corner shop. Below is a short piece about the homage: Here is the homage in question: To close the circle, at the end of the 10,000th episode, we see Rita walking around Rovers with audio flashbacks of lots of iconic characters in a kind of homage to both Elsie and Liz's exits. Luckily this wasn't Rita's exit episode and she is still with us!
  3. There is a definite line between a subtle Easter egg, like the B&B scene above, and a blatant act of self-plagiarism. The obvious self-congratulation feels a bit sad, like the soap is running on the fumes of past glories rather than boldly driving forward.
  4. Also good news for sloppy typers 😅
  5. Dr. Wilkes was played by Matt Mangum
  6. I will check later, but was this the first episode without either Dani or Nicole?
  7. I don't trust her. I think he is being set up.
  8. They also forgot that it was Ted who told Andre he didn't want to confess to the affair at this point. But today Andre told Ted "I know you want to come clean." Huh? Did a scene get deleted? I wanted the camera to pan down and we see Mike's little feet dangling.
  9. The actor playing Tyrell is rapidly getting better every episode. That was a very strong scene. His remarks also implied that the kids were old enough when they were adopted to remember life before Martin and Smitty.
  10. I wanted to see Naomi and Bill to head to head in court. I guess we won't be seeing the powerpuff paralegals again.
  11. I know exactly how she feels. Nothing gives me the ick like clinginess. 🧈 face
  12. I know everybody hates Doug, but I really feel for him.
  13. Depends on how long the affair between Dana and Ted was.
  14. I was thinking more along the lines of a cuckoo situation. Dana and Nicole's babies are born at the same time. Dana switches the babies so her bio baby (Kat) can be raised in privilege. She raises Eva as her own with the intent of weaponizing her against Ted and Nicole in the future. It would explain the Rapunzel/Mother Gothel dynamic I got from Eva/Dana in the early episodes.
  15. Kat and Eva have birthdays close to one another? 👀
  16. Hayley should give her baby a portmanteau name, Brooke Logan style: Bayley Hamilton.
  17. I like how today's episode so far has been parent/child pairs: Anita/Nicole, Vernon/Dani, Bill/Naomi, Dana/Eva.
  18. I agree. As much as I loathe SORAS, Melissa Hayden may as well have been brought on as Nola's daughter Stacy instead of her niece.
  19. Thank you! A pic of Lisa Brown coaching the younger cast in late 1999. credit: CBS Soaps In Depth October 26, 1999.
  20. Right after we praise BTG for subtle product placement, we get a whole scene of Nicole and Anita extolling the virtues of Febreze.
  21. Something I picked up during my rewatch: When Dani told Anita about how she was fired from the board, she accused Anita of already knowing. I think this was the impetus for what Anita did later by pulling the family's funding from the charity. Anita's overreaction is an attempt to prove her love/loyalty to Dani, especially since Dani sees Vernon as the "nice" parent and Anita as the "tough" parent. Dani has probably manipulated Anita this way for a long time. It fits in the established dynamic Dani has with her daughters, especially Chelsea, who mentioned early in the series that they have to walk on eggshells until they can assess Dani's mood.
  22. Just now catching up on this thread, I can't seem to find this. Would you mind posting a link?
