https://michaelfairmantv.com/days-of-our-lives-susan-seaforth-hayes-interview-horton-house-fire-storyline-mourning-husband-bill-hayes/2024/02/26/ You shared so many scenes with Frances Reid (Alice) and MacDonald Carey (Tom) in the Horton living room set and up till they passed. Did they get along well with Bill? Looking back, how was your relationship with them? SUSAN: They loved him. Well, Mac and Billy had worked together before in theater. Mac was very kind to me at the beginning and helpful. Frances was as well. As Frances got older, she got a bit testy. When someone says, “You’re not going to read the line like that … are you?” It catches your attention. (Laughs). I got peeved at Frances from time to time, but her intent was always to make everything as good as it possibly could be. I saw her come back from her stroke. learn to talk again, learn to do it all again. Not do it easily, but to do it at all was wonderful, and the same with Mac. In his last shows, he was very frail, but we’re actors. We liked being there.

To mark the occasion, we caught up with Ron Moss, aka the original Ridge Forester. Does he feel like returning to the series and what are the chances that he will visit Israel? Do you miss the era of "the beautiful and the brave"? "I miss the people I worked with, but I really don't miss the work involved in a series like this. I prefer the life of freedom to create my own works." You were one big family for a good few decades, are you still in touch? "No. I have not been part of this series for 12 years and beyond that, most of the colleagues who were with me have also left. Life has taken us all in different directions, we all have families and daily chores. Life goes on despite everything." At the same time, the decision to retire from the show in which he starred for so many years was not easy for him, and the thought of someone else stepping into Ridge's shoes startled him. He said in the past that he asked the producer of the series Bradley Bell not to recast the role, but the production of the show refused and he remains hurt. "It felt like a betrayal and showed a real lack of respect," he said. And we can't do without a nice scandal to end: in 2022 Hunter Taylor, who played the character of Taylor Hayes, admitted in an interview to New Idea that her attraction to Moss was completely real. "When I first came to the show in 1990, I was still married to actor Michael Teilo," she said. "Michael felt very threatened by Ron and the chemistry we had on screen. It was definitely a connection with intense passion. That's why I did everything possible to repel Ron." Just like in The Brave and the Bold, Hunter ended up getting a divorce and so did Moss - and the two drifted into a brief but stormy off-set romance. "I noticed that during all our kissing scenes, there were no holds barred between us. Before that it was just short kisses, stage kisses. We were both single and I guess we finally felt free enough to show our feelings without fear of upsetting our partners."- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos

I'm waiting for this! hopefully maree chatem (Marie horton) Lisa trusel (Melissa).. not sure she shared many scenes with bill Hayes but she did return for both tom and Alice's memorials obviously Kristian and Peter (bo and hope) .. hope is a must missy Reeves (Jennifer) it will be nice to see Denise Alexander (Susan Martin) but don't think it will happen. and hopefully both Maggie and Marlena can attend the memorial at the same time, regardless of personal issues between Suzanne and Deidra. hopefully we'll see many unseen rare flashbacks from early on 70's, including Doug and Addie's romance.- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
unfortunately it seems we'll never see the bill-laura romance as originally portrayed by Mallory & Susan Flannery. it's sad. because days production or Sony obviously have this rare footage. just upload it online, they'll make so much money. I'm sure many people will pay to watch those early episodes. gosh roman was cruel here.. John raised his children for 5 years!!!- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos

- R.I.P.: Bill Hayes Has Died
other then Deidra and ken.. did anyone else from days family participated in the memorial? kristian? peter? missy? matt? drake? suzanne? kind of disappointing Deidra only read a poem and did not say nothing personal from her 45+ years of knowing bill. I think the audience was surprised she finished her eulogy so soon..- DAYS: February 2024 Discussion Thread
