  1. Cassandra, portrayed by Nina Arvesen, is married to the wealthy George Rawlins. Despite their marriage, Cassandra engages in an affair with private investigator Paul Williams. George becomes aware of this infidelity and, driven by jealousy and a desire for revenge, orchestrates a plan to frame Paul for his own murder. This scheme leads to George's actual death, with Paul initially being accused of the crime.
  2. Though Drucilla and Olivia loved each other, the disparity in their upbringings (Olivia was favored by their parents, Walter and Lillie Bell), took them down different paths in life. One thing they had in common, however, was an attraction for the same men, which had them at odds more than once. https://www.tiktok.com/@berternie20/video/7206107320655449387 https://www.tiktok.com/@theyoungandtherestless/video/7427221683217419563
  3. Any news regarding how production gonna address Drake's death onscreen? are they killing off John? that's the reason for bo and hope's return scheduled for May 2025?
  4. "And honestly, Amy is one of the last characters we expected to ever see again, ever since she left town to take care of her father back in 1988! Back in the day, she worked as Paul and Andyโ€™s secretary at their private investigator agency, and her exit is what prompted Paul to hire Lynne in her stead. She was far more, though, than just an occasional coworker as she was friends with much of the younger crowd back in the day, including Danny, Lauren and Traci. In fact, they all used to join Danny up on stage when he toured! On top of that, she dated Nateโ€™s father, Nathan, and, when she discovered he was illiterate, took it upon herself to teach him to read and write. Seeing as how she knew Nateโ€™s dad in the day, weโ€™re guessing the reason sheโ€™s reaching out has something to do with the elder Hastings. Heck, maybe heโ€™s alive after all, and just faked his death to get out of the whole kidnapping Nate thing! And Amy could be the only one who knows it".
  5. It's the same as killing Bill Horton on February 18, 2020. Although his character was off screen for so many years, basically since 1994 (I'm not including the short stint of John H. Martin during June 2010 - just a substitute). But at least the production showed some flashbacks to the 70's.
  6. Isn't it curious how in 2017, Julie had to eulogize David on "Days of Our Lives," despite the character being absent from our screens since 1983? The show didn't even include any flashbacks to his earlier appearances, making the moment feel somewhat disconnected from the show's history.
  7. Days of Our Lives was fantastic during 1993-1994. those years got me hooked! But then 1995 brought the possession storyline, and the show changed forever. It felt like it became more science fiction, and Stefano turned into more of a cartoon character.
  8. it seems like Katherine is a very nice and down to earth person in real life, otherwise the bell family wouldn't keep her for almost 40 years. did any of her colleagues had anything bad to say about her? I don't think so. good for her- a steady income for decades, and she didn't take any long breaks during her entire tenure, correct? she looks amazing at 63. but doesn't it get boring to play the same character for so many years?
  9. So basically Amy returns to GC after.. almost 40 years? I mean.. no Nathan and no Paul. what's the point of bringing her back.. ?
  10. Josh Taylor played roman since 1997.. more then 25 years.. the recast totally destroyed roman and Marlena's legacy, as their chemistry not equal to wayne and Deidra's magical super coupling.. but honestly, should Marlena really reunite with roman after all those years, just because John died? no, i think it's too late.. and I don't think the show would survive much longer.
  11. Theyโ€™ve had such significant journeys, and now it feels like they can offer wisdom and support rather than getting wrapped up in romantic plots. It could open up more opportunities for exploring their friendships and family ties.
  12. Thatโ€™s great! Phillip III's 'death' scene is incredibly powerful and emotional. Jess and Jennie truly nailed it! The line 'first the father... now the son' reflects the rich history and adds so much depth. Itโ€™s undoubtedly one of the most impactful and powerful scenes in soap history! (it turns out the accident was actually a suicide attempt, and Phillip faked his death and moved away- ridiculous unnecessary retcon)
  13. I don't know... we lose more and more soap actors and actresses. Does it lower your motivation and energy to keep watching your soaps? Days of Our Lives without Jen, without Hope, without Bo, without Doug, without John Black... what's the point to continue watching?
  14. Don't forget Marlena and Maggie were close too, a long time ago. Those three matriarchs could be front and center, maybe start a business together: Julie, Marlena, and Maggie. Despite behind-the-scenes drama, it would be girl power! But I'm not sure the actresses will Maintain their roles much longer, probably exhausted from learning lines and working. They could retire anytime now, but their beautiful legacy will live on forever.
  15. Should we expect John black's memorial in upcoming months, maybe bo and hope's return is connected to john's death? gosh.. no more John and Marlena. heartbreaking. so sad. but let's focus on his amazing legacy spanning almost 40 years.
  16. While his loss is deeply felt, it's heartening to remember the amazing life he lived and the joy he brought to others. May the memories of Drake's warmth and generosity bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire others. It's pretty messed up that we might have to wait ages to see any on-screen tribute for Drake. The whole soap opera filming schedule thing really sucks in situations like this. Feels wrong to have such a big gap between real life and what we see on TV, especially for something this important. Kinda makes you wish they could find a quicker way to honor him, right?
  17. It reminds me of Victoria Wyndham's interview. I believe many soap actors and actresses do it primarily for the moneyโ€”it's a lucrative industry, after all. a good gig, steady income * VICTORIA: "A lot of my decision was influenced by my children. I didn't want to raise them in California; weโ€™re an East Coast family. I also dislike the idea of being away for extended periods. When you work on movies, you might be away from your family for six weeks to a year. Even with nighttime shows, being away for six weeks is more time than I ever wanted to spend apart from my family. Another World allowed me to have a comfortable living while being home with my children every night, helping with homework and being a regular mom. That was a much better alternative than running around and chasing a career. My kids were more important than my career." DS: When youโ€™re known so well for one particular role--Rachel Cory in Another World--yet you are multi-dimensional, how do you handle the frustration that must breed inside yourself? VW: I didnโ€™t find it frustrating because I was always doing so many other things. On top of that, my big job was raising my children. Iโ€™m very proud of that and I was a very hands-on parent so that was my number one job. The soap was my way to finance that, since I was a single parent. Then the off-Broadway gigs came. I knew I wasnโ€™t going to do a Broadway play or anything that demanded a long run because that would keep me away from my family too much. But when those would be offered to me, if I felt that they were good enough, I would do them. They were always limited runs. Then I had the sculpture. I had a one-woman show and The Smithsonian, which led to commissions. DSWould you go back to one? VW: Oh, it would have to be an extraordinary offer and an extraordinary situation. In other words, probably not. I wasnโ€™t interested in soaps. I was doing it because it was a good job. DSBut twenty-five years on a soap. Itโ€™s so funny to hear you say you werenโ€™t interested. I understand you had your children. It was a good gig, steady income. It kept you on the east coast. VW: Kept me on the east coast. Kept me coming home at night. I was there at dinnertime every night while my kids were home. When they went off to college, then I had an apartment in the city and I didnโ€™t have to do that kind of commuting. But when they were little and under my auspices, I was there all the time. So it was a great gig. Was it something I intended to do for the rest of my life? Not at all. But when I realized what the alternative was and I had two children to raise, it was a pretty good gig. Also, when you do work for one entity, you know you become competitive about it. They become your family.
  18. Yes, it would be amazing to see some of those classic stories from the 60s and 70s brought back. There's something timeless about that era's creativity and storytelling!
  19. - Mickey Horton's plane crash storyline (1983-1984): This was indeed a major plot point. Mickey Horton, played by John Clarke, was presumed dead after a plane crash. This led to: A funeral for Mickey, The beginning of an affair between Don Craig and Maggie, Mickey's eventual return, revealed to have been suffering from amnesia. - Stefano DiMera's introduction: Stefano was first introduced to the show in 1982. He quickly became one of the most iconic villains in soap opera history. These storylines are from a period that's considered a golden age for Days of Our Lives, with high drama and memorable character arcs. - Addie Horton's death (1974): Addie Horton, played by Patricia Barry, met a tragic end in a storyline that was quite memorable for its time. - Laura Horton's mental breakdown: This storyline, featuring Susan Flannery as Laura Horton, was a significant arc in the show's history. some of these older episodes can be quite hard to find.
  20. Hi all, Does anyone know when Doug's memorial will finally happen? It feels like we've been waiting forever.
  21. 90s were soap's golden era. The four left now don't compare. Big changes in stories, production, and how we watch. Losing veteran actors hit hard - they brought depth and nostalgia that's tough to replace. New talent's good, but can't match those long-standing characters. It's like losing soap history. Any old favorites you miss most? Frances Reid - she was Alice Horton on "Days of Our Lives" forever, right? Total daytime TV icon. Jeanne Cooper - Katherine Chancellor on "The Young and the Restless." She was a force of nature. Susan Flannery - Stephanie Forrester on "The Bold and the Beautiful." Such a powerhouse actress. These women were the real deal. They brought gravitas and history to their shows that's hard to match nowadays. Losing actors like them definitely leaves a big gap in the soap world. They don't make 'em like that anymore, huh? Erica Slezak - She's famous for playing Viki Lord on "One Life to Live" for decades. Truly a soap opera legend. Susan Lucci - She's best known for her role as Erica Kane on "All My Children". She was basically the queen of daytime TV. Both these actresses were absolutely iconic in the soap world. They brought so much drama, charisma, and staying power to their roles. Soaps today really do miss that kind of star power and long-term character development, don't they? It's tough to find that level of talent and dedication in newer shows.
  22. The soap opera world's been shrinking for years, and 2025 might be the final curtain call for the last four. ๐ŸŽญโณ TV's changed big time โ€“ we've got streaming, social media, you name it. ๐Ÿ“บโžก๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ’ป Who's got time to watch a show every single day anymore? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Plus, with tight budgets, the networks might be thinking it's time to pull the plug. ๐Ÿ’ธ But hey, soaps have survived tough times before. ๐Ÿ’ช Maybe they'll find a way to keep the drama going, just in a new format. ๐Ÿ”„ What do you think? Ready to say goodbye to soaps, or hoping they'll stick around somehow? ๐Ÿงผ๐Ÿšฟ vs ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽ‰
