  1. JER was far from a hack. His ratings success with Days led to NBC commissioning his own soap. A soap, may I remind you, that was always popular with young people. JER redefined Days. He made the show watchable and saved it from cancellation twice. He created some of the all-time best Days characters like Susan and gave us iconic stories like the Possession. It is one thing to dislike someone and it’s another to completely make up falsities to push your agenda. And another one bites the dust!
  2. NBC isn’t going to put another soap on NBC, but I could see them trying a telenovela format for streaming, if they’re working on one like Warner Bros. But you can’t GET more creative than JER. He was a creative genius.
  3. The execution was the best part. I assume you stopped watching after the first week because it would be odd to continue to watch something you hated. 😉
  4. Sweet Jesus Christ. My post was clearly talking about a STREAMING SERVICE, John!!!
  5. Since NBC Universal owns it, probably them. Aren’t they working on a steaming service? A Passions revival to help launch a Universal streaming service would help set it apart from other streaming services.
  6. It was talked about at the fan event in 2017. The cast is down.
  7. I have to say, I enjoyed her tenure at Y&R. I started watching again with her first big story, Marge & Kay 2.0. I love that she brought back Nina and write for her. I liked that Chance was back. I loved that Ronan was her long lost son. And I especially loved that Phillip was alive and gay. I also liked that she reunited Danny and Cricket and had Cricket find out that Phyllis was the hit and run driver. Maria did many questionable things like getting rid of Vail Bloom, but overall I was entertained daily by her Y&R. I stopped watching when Griffith and Phelps got rid of Nina but did tune in for Kay and Neil’s memorial episodes.
  8. I am sure. There’s more than one JER fan in the world.
  9. I like his writing. He writes Days the way it’s supposed to be written, unlike Tomlin and Higley. As for a Passions revival, I doubt it will happen but it’s fun to think about where these characters are now.
  10. She wrote in his style. That’s why I liked her writing. That’s what my post said. Thankfully, Days has re-embraced the sci fi stories again under Ron.
  11. Yes she was. Go back and watch Sally’s Days. She’s the one who put the microchip in Hope’s brain to turn her into Princess Gina.
  12. Not a fan of Agnes or Irna or Douglas or Bill. Just JER and those who write in his style: Langan, Sussman-Morina, Carlivati, Brash/Cwikly.
  13. Not well. 😉 I just finished listing why they were awful. Oh, you just hate Passions. Okie doke.
  14. I never said anything about that. I’m talking about how crappy MarDar were at Days, and why they wouldn’t be good for a Passions revival.
  15. No. The parentage of Daniel was part of Alice’s secrets, MarDar’s first big story. I can’t speak to AMC because I never watched that bland, boring show or the online version. I do remember Marlene threatening to sue Days fans on twitter around the time the show won an Emmy for the Daysaster, lol
  16. MarDar was very destructive to characters and couples (Jack/Jennifer, Carrie/Austin). They started stories that went nowhere. Madison, Ian, and Cameron were horrid new additions. Billie’s return was a waste. They made Daniel Maggie’s son and gave him, Melanie, and Victor Horton family ornaments. They contradicted onscreen history to retroactively marry John and Hope, thus undoing two supercouple marriages. John’s return story was boring and nonsensical (stealing pensions? Lol!). The safehouse explosion story was excruciatingly bad. Hope turned back into Gina for no reason. The Stefano murder mystery was lame (a dozen suspects ALL touched the murder weapon? They ALL confronted him the same night and never ran into each other?). My God, it was bad. I was expecting JER 3.0 and was served a bowl of warm dog crap instead.
  17. You mustn’t remember the MarDar year.
  18. Oh hell no! Firstly I don’t think he would have had the surgery that killed him if Passions was still going. Secondly, Passions was his baby. I would not have watched with someone else writing. Not even his protégés MarDar could write in his style, as we saw when they took over Days.
  19. It “ended up” great, lol. The DirecTV year was when JER’s vision became fully realized. I loved the final episode with Tabitha’s baptism and Theresa and Ethan’s wedding. The perfect ending! I just wish DirecTV had given it one more season to wrap up some loose ends and finish at an even ten years.
  20. Why? They worked well together.
  21. Of course he did. He created the show. Lisa’s job was to bring his vision to life.
  22. Other than the Salem Stalker year (August 2003-August 2004), I thought Passions was stronger than Days during that era. I was just glad and grateful to get 10 hours of Reilly each week for 3 years. Those were the days...
  23. I’m still the same person I was when I was 19. This show is still everything to me. I haven’t truly enjoyed another soap since it ended.
