  1. IIRC, according to Labine it was supposed to be about Holly (I think) having it bad for Olivia and Olivia not being into it. I'll pass.
  2. It can't be, unless FV is trying to slow his roll for awhile and play for Round 2 or something. (For example, I'll believe Valentin is gone for good when he's gone for five years.) Last I checked, Sonny has not so much as kissed Natalia in over a year. That is DOA unless it's just in stasis. I did expect (and still do) that FV will try hard to put her over due by making her sympathetic via the evils of Cyrus 3.0/Sidwell, but I wouldn't be shocked if someone finally said to get ready to dump her. You can tell what he prioritizes, the same way he's dragged his feet heavily on Lucky and Liz re: screen time.
  3. I think it's precisely because many writers didn't want to lose these cushy and by most accounts well-paying positions (or lose them for their children/family, in a number of notable cases) that you saw less and less people trained up. Someone is always coming up from behind you. Beyond the Gates has to its credit tried to prioritize writers of color in the dialogue/daily corps, some of whom are new or at least relatively fresh/new. But there's still a lot of friends of the show or creatives on staff, both because the entertainment industry is always about who you know and because those people know how to do the job. And I won't lie and say I don't wish a few oldheads (like Patrick Mulcahey) could be persuaded out of retirement to tweak some of those daily shows.
  4. I feel quite confident that's not what I said. If one were to do that using the most overwrought language possible, one might consider that substantive reflection yields keen discernment of the same patterns refracted across multiple daytime productions: Another World, where she had multiple women raped and murdered. Guiding Light, where she had multiple women raped, murdered or otherwise killed off. One Life to Live, raped and occasionally killed. Santa Barbara I can't speak to, but I'm pretty sure there were a fair few rapes! After such reflection, one might conclude that the alleged ends really doesn't exclude the means, which were regularly and at times exclusively victimizing women. We really don't need to play devil's advocate on every single issue. We can leave that to our most dedicated and un-banned tr0llls, who next will probably be advocating for the unsung genius of Dena Higley. Oh, I know. It's just a nice idea.
  5. Unless something has changed in the last few years, Matthew Atkinson has nice pecs but cannot act.
  6. Oh lord! God bless the soaps.
  7. That's adorable.
  8. Jill was a master of gaming the Daytime Emmys system. That's well known and old news. As for women, she only liked those she brought in or could model after herself onscreen (often right down to the haircut - ask Hillary B. Smith or Florencia Lozano). The rest had a body count. I do think the idea of a reversal (writing Ed out non-permanently but for a time in some horrible mishap, letting Maureen keep the house and maybe be tempted by Roger, etc.) would be very interesting considering all the sympathy Maureen generated in the affair storyline.
  9. It's pretty common for rich young heiresses/nepo babies to go into modeling in this day and age. I think it's on brand.
  10. I would've kept Drew Garrett, but there is too much smoke surrounding his abrupt exit not for something to have gone wrong BTS we don't know about. I do think Chad was very good when he took over. But now both aren't a factor.
  11. Long overdue. I am surprised Frank went for it, I thought he would hold the role indefinitely out of some misguided loyalty. Chad used to be very good early on - and rarely given much good material in his prime years after the Guza team left - but he had been over the role and sleepwalking for many years. I would keep Michael gone a bit longer, but it is time for a recast.
  12. Just talking/speculating about Lucky and Kristina or the actors having a fan event does not warrant spoiler tagging. Nor does an unsourced rumor claiming FV wanted it, which I could believe and have suspected but which has no source.
  13. I'd still be down for them finding some way to finagle Nicole and Ted raising Martin as their own lol. It's just off.
  14. As long as Shanice keeps speaking about herself in the third person, I'm happy.
  15. I too always found it weird as hell they tried to make 'DiMera' a legitimate business lol. The DiMeras who have had 50 different mad scientist capers on this show?
  16. I thought they were both out.
  17. Wasn't this the guy who may no longer be on staff? I hope not. And this is a perfect example of how we all disagree. LC does not think Claybon has improved; I do. LC thinks Jen Jacob is great; I think she should be on the unemployment line. Different strokes!
  18. There is absolutely no one on this board who tells me how to think, lol. I was extremely skeptical when people told me ol' MART1N was starting to turn around. You can ask Darn how much I roasted him per day. I'm still not joining the Brandon Claybon Fan Newsletter but I do think he has considerably improved, so I am waiting to see more. If you want to police opinions, go bother the guy spamming hate speech videos calling the showrunner an anti-Black bootlicker before it even began to air.
  19. Except everyone here is voicing their positive or negative opinions all day. This dude just spews conspiracy theories and hate speech because he is angry he isn't writing the show. He's been doing it for the better part of a year, long before the show aired. There's legitimate critique and then there's Account #3.
  20. Except it was clearly what they had in mind from the beginning. I had Dr. Ted pegged as a serial killer from the casting notices tbh. It's just the plan. I am far more concerned with Dana/Leslie being able to continue at this point. He really has noticeably improved. I'm not quite done roasting him but he earned more of my respect these last couple weeks.
  21. Having a rough week with family so I am very glad the show is here. Take me away, Silk Press! I worried poor Laura might get it when she showed up in the spoilers. She's been through enough!
  22. Just ignore the usual bait. He'll be in the GH threads defending Anna Lee being taken off contract next. He has no interest in what he says, he has an interest in you reacting.
  23. Derek is profoundly unattractive to me. Resembles early man. It's not any Caucasian in any storm, people.
  24. I suspect that will come for several. Andre may be #1, and I would not be shocked if the hospital is eventually phased out.
