  1. To paraphrase the comedy classic "What About Bob?", burn in hell, David Gregory!
  2. Vee replied to DRW50's topic in Primetime & Streaming
New theme: Who is already deep into filming Series 15. Nice to see RTD does not intend to resume the long Chibnall gap years.
  3. Trying to keep this thread completely abreast with the unspeakable horrors in Israel and Gaza seems counterproductive; we're all probably doing that solo. So I'll stick to what I'm good at: Dunking on Jake Sherman.
  4. Legendary comics creator Keith Giffen has died. Giffen is known best for his classic work on my beloved Legion of Super-Heroes and his irreverent, fun revival of the Justice League in the late '80s, as well as co-creating Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy, Lobo, Ambush Bug and many other characters and books. But I grew up with, and loved best, his controversial late '80s revamp of the OG Legion in 1989, the "Five Years Later" Legion, which was basically thirtysomething in space with a bold new art style, formal/panel experimentation, no uniforms or codenames and a lot of controversial changes, where the teenage superheroes had grown up, gotten old and tired, facing down a corrupt universe that had left them behind. It was both of a piece with the deconstructionist movement of the period in comics yet also way ahead of its time progressively; a mature, epic saga, it's only been more appreciated in recent times.
  5. I don't remember either. It did happen ludicrously quickly. It seemed fine when Sabrina and Felix arrived on the scene. IIRC Deception had spa/wellness elements back in the day at some point? But yeah, I also thought it was odd. And yes, Ron and Frank's fixation on Milo mirrored their fixation on other ill-equipped hunks on every show they've each been at (including Nathan at GH).
  6. She did. Lucy was supposedly very successful with CoeCoe Cosmetics when Sabrina and Felix found her in NYC(?). Big glam office. Things being Ron Carlivati though, CoeCoe went under in record time and Lucy was back in PC for good. And ofc Ron's Deception spa story (with Milo as the Face of Deception! ugh!) never happened because Genie quit when Frank tried to make her take recurring. I don't think it ever opened, as far as we know anyway.
  7. I've been wondering that myself. This was in fall '03, deep in Malone's mad second run. Flash/Sarah, possibly? But she would've been aged up slightly from Shanelle Workman.
  8. Kelly Monaco has an interesting new anniversary interview up. I've enjoyed Kelly as Sam sometimes, but it's baffling that she (like so many other played-out characters) is now marking 20 years at the show with LW not far behind.
  9. Kelly Monaco has (somehow) marked 20 years on GH and has a new interview out. This tidbit is buried in there:
  10. He got so old in the last few years since COVID! Real fast. Kelly Monaco too.
  11. I mentioned it when the cast list first became public, but E.J. Bonilla (Rafe, GL) is in the truly unfortunate The Exorcist: Believer.
  12. I remember when some of Davies' more recent films opened in NYC to much acclaim. I've always meant to dig into his explorations of his youth from a gay perspective. Now I'll have to.
  13. Nope. Rena's doing a short run and I can't see her going for that regardless.
  14. He put it on Eden, but Eden quit early specifically because of the direction of that storyline (and Tamara was not far behind, declining to pick up her six month option with the show). Between that and another interview I can't lay hands on it's clear that what he describes here, using Bianca to intro Reese and turn her into a bisexual vixen, was in fact Plan A. The only reason he went back to Bianca and Reese is because both women quit.
  15. I'm most familiar with Emily O'Brien voicing the central female character(s) (with the physical model of Lindsay Wagner - long story) in Hideo Kojima's sprawling video game Death Stranding with Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen. In that she had a perfectly fine American accent, and I had no idea til I finished the game that it was Jana from Y&R. The accent isn't the issue vs. the recast process itself, which is consistently ridiculous at DAYS (and GH).
  16. A bit late on this one, but I was making the rounds of new horror movies for the weekend and catching up on some older ones - while V/H/S 85 is out this weekend on Shudder, the previous film in the "V/H/S" horror anthology film series, V/H/S 99 from 2022 (also on Shudder), features two soap vets in two different segments. Kelley Missal (Danielle, OLTL) has a brief role as a doomed '90s chick rocker turned ghoul in the opening segment, but it's GH's own late great Sonya Eddy (Epiphany) who plays a vengeful mother exacting a Saw-esque scheme in a segment directed by musician Flying Lotus. Sonya was playing very much against type and does a great job. I miss her.
  17. Can do! I'm glad you waited, it's been a busy week recovering from my COVID booster. The above SON link from '09 repeats the material from a TV Guide interview with Michael Fairman that was posted at the time and is very real. I would've passed along the archive.is link but that site is being finicky tonight. There's more out there that I believe adds even more concrete detail, but that's a good start. Here's Tamara basically dropping a dime on Pratt and the show in The Advocate: Happy to help.
  18. It's inevitable Abby returns someday no matter who's writing. She is a core child and this is DAYS.
  19. There's one I've never seen. Who's the blond?
  20. Bryan Fuller is being sued for sexual harassment on his Shudder queer horror doc. I love a lot of his work but some of what's described here definitely sounds on brand for his excessively horny public persona. I wish I could say there aren't already too many LGBT people who operate like this in a professional capacity. The BTS personnel testimonials for either side of this accusation are already flying back and forth of course alleging that either party is the real problem, and some of it seems to suggest a turf war over the documentary and its content. I'd love to believe it's not true but I don't easily do that, so I'll see how it shakes out. Either way, gross.
  21. Poor Linda Gray looks frail in that sidelong shot of the women. But my mother is also that thin these days near that age and she's doing okay, so who knows. Oh God. The Loni/Denise Richards double act story. That was a nadir moment for the show (and actually in the back half of Season 4 IIRC, which wasn't quite the dying days but it was a rough patch and got rougher down the road).
  22. This doesn't surprise me at all. Ormond is another up and coming female star who was the flavor of the month in the mid-'90s and then (like Gretchen Mol or Annabella Sciorra) her career vanished very, very fast. The next time I saw her again was in Inland Empire around a decade later when she began to recover a career in arthouse work.
