  1. In fairness IIRC it wasn't Pratt; I believe Brown and Esensten wrote the original return story (supposedly with some input from Agnes, who I suspect may only have provided the idea of David Rasche's villain being a Gardner). It was Pratt who later added the angle with Natalia and Jesse having shacked up with Laura Bonarrigo from OLTL for decades. The story was far from genius but I will give B&E credit for frontloading Darnell and Debbi on multiple soaps and working with a strong Black canvas on Loving, TC and their brief AMC run in this period (which had like 4-6 Black characters at that time, not all related, though again the stories weren't great). I still remember us all revisiting it in 2020 and talking about how revolutionary the major Black quad during the Loving Murders was given what crumbs we often have today.
  2. She mentions it in the new interview on TV Insider Errol posted. She's also only recurring, which is what I expected.
  3. I believe Errol's report claims that it's a mix of PM/EK and old material from then on for at least a couple weeks, with the Jason return story the new team's work. I don't think anything is purely Korte.
  4. I was wondering about them a bit myself.
  5. You mean the Invader? I wonder, since I believe Carly just quit Crimson in record time. I was kind of expecting this Invader change with Nina to lead to Alexis quitting and heading back to the law (and I happen to like Alexis at the Invader, it's been a surprisingly refreshing change and given all her hijinks in the 21st century it did kind of make sense for her to suffer consequences to her profession).
  6. People keep saying this and I'm not seeing it either tbqh. It feels like a fanbase thing. I would watch though, as I've begun to suspect a few scenes are already sprinkled with changes as I mentioned above. We're a little over a week away from Steve's return (sigh) which is supposedly a definite Mulcahey work.
  7. Our Ignoring posters or not quoting them doesn't stop a bad actor from continuing to relentlessly attack or ridicule anyone who disagrees with them about anything from Marlena to who Suzanne Rogers fúcked 20 years ago to the Hortons, or telling people that if they critique Jim Reilly's writing they shouldn't be allowed in threads about his shows. When they continue on the attack then it becomes your problem, not ours. I really don't care if you give me warning points for the first time since the Obama administration; I'm probably overdue. Like I said a few posts ago, I don't have a problem taking a hit for my behavior in return for better oversight. But the responsibility here is not entirely on the posting community to just tolerate and avoid new people who come here on their worst behavior.
  8. @DRW50 they changed it again after taking heat:
  9. I remember her well. Great actress.
  10. Makes me wonder if they’re clearing decks with various tiresome dangling threads in more ways than one lately by having Curtis come clean to Portia re: Selina Wu, in addition to the Dex/Michael business, etc. I will say I've wondered if a few scenes recently - specifically Curtis and Trina talking about grief, and Nina and Diane and Valentin and Scorpio's dual clashes and one other that's just now escaped my memory - got touched up by the new writers. All of them seemed a bit smarter than the average dross. But it's hard to say, and I couldn't pinpoint them clearly as a new/old voice.
  11. Grand opening grand closing! I do wonder if the immediate 180 on Crimson is a new team choice or not.
  12. Cyrus is so lame. His radio show bit as the Voice of the Night is insane. You could really cull over half this cast.
  13. I won't shed a tear over anything that gets this rando off the show as soon as possible.
  14. Very sad but not surprising.
  15. It really isn't hard to go on Amazon.com yourself. Look up the show yourself. And then find out if it's the same TV show firsthand, as opposed to always going off second and third-hand sources from a vague Google search, and then always demanding everyone else prove to you that your poor research is wrong. I did it in less than the time it took to write this post.
  16. That Amazon statement seems carefully couched. I wouldn't assume there's nothing to the rumor.
  17. Except when they don't. The troll you're thinking of was J*nnysbro and his various alt accounts (some of which may still be active). We were told to just ignore them too, but that ultimately became impossible and finally action was forced. Ignore is a useful tool I employ often but it can't be the only tool available to a community in certain situations, and things have changed over the last 15 years since the wild west days of SoapZone or Mediadomain. Especially when stuff actively discourages posters from a small but very loyal posting base to stick around. I still believe in a community maintaining itself mostly holistically, but it has to be a two way street. If more oversight means people like me take more lumps too I have no problem with that.
  18. It still annoys me that her last name is apparently spelled 'Rosco' but yes, agreed.
  19. That someone was me, at least once upon a time! I love Diva, what a tragedy.
  20. She has one speed! She was hired as an under-5 dayplayer and it shows.
  21. Malone came back with Griffith simultaneously. The 'consultant' thing was basically just a courtesy, Malone was a co-HW within weeks. There was never any indication of Griffith having a breakdown at that time.
  22. Welcome to my world. The only way to handle this is to report it enough times or address it publicly so that the admin is inclined to do something permanent about it. I regret not reporting stuff more often over the years tbh. But whatever.
  23. Kelly Lee, whose entire character arc was 'horny nymphomaniac'. I do miss that whole crew of doctors, etc. who would go chill at Jake's though. Robin, Patrick, Kelly, Lainey who was a token character of color in various demeaning C-plots, Epiphany, Liz I think, etc. I think Korf left OLTL (and soaps) to go back to the NY theater, specifically a big David Henry Hwang show that did not go well; I believe Ellen Bethea did the same for awhile. Now Bethea is a poet in Vermont.
  24. She has barely aged since 1993, judging by her pix at the OLTL reunion a few years ago. Since it'll never, ever happen but I like to keep a few cards close to the vest I'll simply say that my pet OLTL 3.0 idea was to give Korf a strong supporting role in Blair's corner as a fun character who shared a past and at times an identity with Kassie's Blair (so as to nod to the obvious issue with the two actors), and using her would in turn help to bring on a new AA family. Looking at the eps available online now it is insane how strong MK's role on the show was in 1992, how unprecedented it was for an Asian lead, and how nuts it is that (to my recollection, anyway) there has not been anywhere near as prominent an Asian lead on any American soap opera since. Shameful. As for GH: Yes, they could recast Selina with Mia Korf and I wouldn't flinch lol. But yes, I am also only tuning in on the regular atm in search of signs of ghostwriting from the new writers. It has been an ordeal.
  25. Always a thrill when Soap Opera Network can grow its posting community at virtually any cost.
