  1. I know that Jack and Jennifer were a huge draw (at least the first time around), but was there any backlash at all about the show's leading ingenue marrying a rapist? Though I don't believe Matt Ashford was playing the role when Jack assaulted Kayla.
  2. How did the scarf fit into the story?
  3. She's just the perfect fit for the Hallmark movies.
  4. Thank you again, @Khan and @DaysFanatic777. I too am in a good place right now, but it is an experience that never leaves you completely. If soaps can't/won't deal with the aftermath of something so awful (PTSD, nightmares, self-loathing), then they shouldn't do it at all.
  5. It truly is a great moment to see. They never got the ratings they deserved in their heyday, but when the show was firing on all cylinders - there was nothing like it. It was quality television all the way around. They had some of the best breakdown and script writers in the business - Courtney Sherman Simon, Frank Salisbury, Patrick Mulcahey, Michele Val Jean, to name just a few. Those folks never got the individual attention/praise they deserved.
  6. I, too, dealt with a wolf in sheep's clothing - and from my church. Thankfully, he wasn't clergy or in any other position of power - just a fellow congregant. But I sure know the feelings of shame and guilt that go along with it. Maybe JER had a similar experience and it managed to permeate his writing. If so, it would make a lot of sense. But what is other writers/producers/execs' excuse???
  7. TPTB must have agreed with you because Lisby Larson was still there at the end, and Catherine Hickland and Dana Kimmel weren't.
  8. Thank you so much for the kind words. I always enjoy your posts as well. I just would rather that soaps would not do rape stories at all. It just rings of exploitation at worst and a lazy way of writing a plot at best. They don't deal with the long-term ramifications (with a couple of exceptions - SB's Eden and GH's Liz come to mind) and it's a real insult to people who endure it in real life. It's just something I really feel strongly about.
  9. Was there a lot of fan backlash at the firing of Laura Malone? I think I read that Terry Davis (Stacey Winthrop; formerly of EDGE and who would go on to SB) was also fired around the same time for not losing pregnancy weight fast enough. What a crummy detail.
  10. Genie was quite good in The Note movies on Hallmark. I wonder why she hasn't done more movies for them. Give her a series on Mysteries and Movies; they have a slot to fill with Lori Loughlin now out of the picture.
  11. I can't say it any better than you just did. 👏👏👏👏👏
  12. There was a silver lining to Laura Malone's situation. After her firing from AW and some time off to be a full-time mom to her son, she went to law school. Laura has worked as an attorney in corporate law for quite a few years now, most recently for the Zulily and Getty Image branches in Seattle.
  13. I never knew all that. What a nice story.
  14. I don't know what it was that they had in mind. It just got so convoluted after awhile. Joe himself had been killed months before the reveal, which made it seem hollow. However, I liked the reenactment party organized by Cruz. It was clearly inspired by the board game Clue. That was fun, and the whole rest of the story was...meh.
  15. Daytime TV magazine, January 1982:
  16. Agreed. Sara's deadpan wit and good-natured jabs at Sharon will be missed. But I do like Marie, and she does have talk show experience. We'll see how it all turns out.
  17. Well said. 👏👏👏👏👏
  18. Here is a beautiful photo of Liz Hubbard as Dr. Althea Davis:
  19. How interesting - thanks for sharing that info.
  20. She does indeed look like Annie Lennox, now that you mention it...
  21. Another "new" writer showed up in the credits of the Christmas 1977 episode of The Doctors - Linda F. Wendell. Ms. Wendell apparently had been a producer of LIAMST.
  22. The last actress to play Anita was Natalia Cigliuti, from 2004-05. Yet in real life, he wound up having the last laugh!!
  23. I don't know the answers to any of that, but here's a current pic of Roberta Bizeau aka Weiss. She's shorn the trademark Flame hair for the Susan Powter look...but it works for her!
