I believe LS was in a relationship with Paul Rauch when both were on OLTL - in between her stints on SB.

That's the very reason I thought they had eloped offscreen...because there are no photos of their wedding.

I saw bits and pieces of it on YT, and it's not hard to see why it was cancelled so fast. Even Betty couldn't save it. She was still a couple of years away from The Golden Girls, and had yet to reach that next big pinnacle of her career.

Wow, where do you even begin? I can't believe that AW would have been celebrating its 45th anniversary, and that it's 20 years ago this month that the cancellation was announced.

Of course, I could be wrong on the dates myself. I thought that Louise Sorel had issues with just the Dobsons re: the Dash story and that she was out before Rauch came in. I'm not as familiar with the last three or so years of SB as I am of its first five.

Actually, Leslie Charleson began airing as Monica in August 1977 and Stuart Damon debuted as Alan in September 1977. I assumed that Alan and Monica had eloped off-screen, and that's why we had never seen their wedding.

Per imdb and other internet sources (I know, grain of salt): Janis Paige was born September 16, 1922 and Nic Coster was born December 3, 1933. Dame Judith Anderson was born February 10, 1897 (and passed January 3, 1992). I think it would have made far more sense to have Janis Paige play Minx's long-lost daughter, making Cassie Minx's granddaughter instead. Then again, when is a soap opera - especially SB - supposed to make sense?

John Conboy was EP in the stories you mentioned, I believe. I don't think Paul Rauch came in until late 1991/early 1992.

RN seems like a really nice guy in real life, too. Hopefully he takes the Hunter reaction to his character in stride. When Kirk was brought back for a couple of short stints to harass Eden and Cruz, it was Joseph Bottoms who played him. I remember reading once that Robin Wright had a big crush on him IRL, but I don't know if that was true.
