  1. She was also absolutely chilling in a L&O episode from 1994 entitled "Pride and Joy". She played a meek and enabling mother to a highly volatile teenage son who ended up killing her husband. May she RIP.
  2. One of Lionel's cellmates in the 1984 Christmas episode was played by none other than Jack Riley - best known to classic TV fans as Mr. Carlin on The Bob Newhart Show.
  3. If they were, it wouldn't surprise me. The Christmas episodes really gave the SB staff a chance to really be creative and fun.
  4. For what it's worth, a mustache-less Tom did play Kelly's (Jaclyn) boyfriend in a first season episode of Charlie's Angels ("Target: Angels" is the title of that episode). I think Mr. Bell himself admitted as much years later!
  5. Cool! I may have to try them someday.
  6. Good point. Maybe if she'd had a solid co-writer, things could have been different.
  7. SB had some really fun Christmas episodes. My personal favorites were Mason's dream that cast him as Scrooge in an homage to A Christmas Carol, and a pregnant Eden and Cruz filling in for an ailing Santa Claus and delivering gifts on his sleigh. It was nice to deviate from all the drama for the day and just enjoy the proceedings.
  8. I look forward to watching those scenes.
  9. Or when one half of the couple has left and magic doesn't strike again for the half of the couple left behind (see Eden and Cruz, SB).
  10. I read that Philip English (now airing in Retro TV's rerun cycle of The Doctors) was on Texas from late 1981 to early 1982. His character was involved in an archaeological dig or something? Can anyone fill me in?
  11. He was an adorable baby/toddler, and it was a good move casting him as Paulina's son. All love and prayers to the Evans/Luciano family. What a horrible loss, and especially so close to Christmas. 💔
  12. Bill, my heart bleeds. 😝
  13. I'm surprised this hasn't already been posted, but Austin Michael Luciano (Dante Carlino, 1997-99) passed away on December 13th at age 23. He was the only child of Judi Evans Luciano, who of course played Dante's mother Paulina. No cause of death has been released as of yet. 😢 https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/austin-luciano-obituary?pid=194716753
  14. James Storm (Gerard) is now appearing as the eighth (!!!) Dr. Mike Powers on Retro TV's rerun cycle of The Doctors. His first airdate was May 5, 1979, and he appeared on the show until 1981.
  15. If it had started a couple of years earlier, it might have stood more of a chance. Who knows?
  16. There hasn't been nearly as much yelling on TD since Gerald Gordon left for good in 1976, for crying out loud!! 😉
  17. I just saw Philece Sampler in a rerun of TJ Hooker. She played a desperate unwed mother and unwilling accomplice to a no-good boyfriend and his buddies who held up a convenience store.
  18. I'm looking forward to seeing KZ in the role - though I think my favorite portrayal of Nola was under Kathryn Harrold.
  19. I actually wrote to Rita and Norman Walter a few years ago, and apparently Rita wanted to step away from show biz to start a family and be a full-time pastor's wife.
  20. Right now, the rerun cycle is in May 1979. In the coming weeks, we will see a bit of a cast exodus. Kathleen Turner, Dorothy Fielding, and Shawn Campbell all left around the same time (July/August 1979). Kim Zimmer became the third and final Nola. Dorothy Fielding's role of Sara Dancy Powers was not recast (or I should say there was not a third Sara). Billy skipped town and would not be seen again until fall 1980, when a newcomer named Alec Baldwin was cast in the part.
  21. @Khan and @Soaplovers, it was indeed due to Marcy Walker's maternity leave. The kidnapping aired in January 1989 and MW gave birth to her son at the beginning of February.
  22. The characters from the original are now old enough to have teenagers of their own. Maybe Zack and Kelly's kid(s) usher in a new era at Bayside High?
  23. I would definitely put my money on Robyn in a fight between her and Wendy. Wendy can dish it out but she sure can't take it!!
