  1. Lisa was an odd choice of spoiler in the search for Felicia's daughter storyline. First of all, she looked younger than Lorna, and age matters in a child search story (regardless of if the actors are similar ages in real life), and second, it was as if once Felicia found out that Lorna was her daughter she just forgot about any association to Lisa, and third (once recasted) Lorna was of an obvious different ethnic origin than Lisa which would have made her parentage more obvious.
  2. I gotta agree with @FrenchBug82 many good points Also, Sue Ellen had been arrested, as she was a prime suspect and her gun was thought to be the primary weapon. It looked like JR was going to brutally punish Sue Ellen, taking her away from John Ross and kicking her out of Southfork, just after she had established a lot of audience support as a victim of JR's abuse. So, when the proverbial penny dropped that Kristen had shot JR and set Sue Ellen up to take the fall, it was a well earned shocker. Then, the coda that she was pregnant and therefore would not pay for her crime was an excellent way to tie up the story without a trial or protracted pursuit of justice. And it set up the story of Christopher which was a key plot point for future seasons.
  3. Given that the only two things that I have to judge his talents by are Ambitions and his self-confessed pitch for the Renee storyline, I am not a fan of his creative endeavors. But, few could quibble that it is remarkable that a fan with a podcast became part of an award wining writing team.
  4. Agreed, I just used Meryl and Nicole as examples because gun to my head I couldn't name all of the best picture nominees this year. I hope my point didn't get lost, that each award show is voted on by separate groups of people so it would be silly to try to predict how each group would effect the other. Also, we have no way of knowing if people who are eligible to vote for more than award show vote consistently.
  5. Ever the optimist, I would say that the recast with Eileen Davidson does a lot to wipe away the sins of the past, because her Kelly was not tarnished by that love triangle. Also, it sort lays the groundwork for why Sophia would later be conned by Ken and then (spoiler alert) reunite with CC. Her weakness was wanting to be adored. Which is why anytime CC's attention veered in the slightest she went off with other neer-do-well guys. Concur 1000%.
  6. Entertainment Weekly had those annual articles where they spoke directly to 3-4 academy voters. I've always wondered how often people who qualify to vote for more than one award show split their vote between ceremonies? For example, are there people who vote for one actor for the SAG awards and another for the Oscars in order to "spread the wealth"? The reason I think predictions are silly, is that the voting process varies so much from show to show. The SAG participants vote for the best actor and the person with the most votes win. But, the Oscars requires voters to rank their list, and the person ranked the highest most frequently wins. For example Meryl Streep could get the most academy votes in a year, but still loose if Nicole Kidman was ranked in first position more frequently.
  7. Their huge Manhattan apartment (one of their five homes) was featured in a design magazine recently and let's just say, their talk may be trashy but their taste is divine. To quote my other post about the rumored cancellations of The Real & Judge Jerry
  8. I still confuse Maury and Jerry, and I thought Maury had already been cancelled. His ratings are amazing, but it is sort of sad that both Maury and his wife Connie Chung have tarnished reputations based on "trash talk tv" given that both are so charming and self-aware in interviews. However, it is remarkable that Jerry lives on and 18% of the show's life has been in repeats. I wonder how many people realize that it ceased production and they are watching shows produced in the early 2000s?
  9. Obviously, the fact that Asa was around the age of Samantha's father would seem "gross" by today's standards. However, at the time Asa was a virile character. He romanced Becky and Mimi, both of whom were of a similar age to Samantha. Samantha's father was rumored to have been involved with Jenny, so it wasn't unheard of for older men to be romantic with younger women in the Vernon family. And Samantha's brother supported the union because he hoped to use their marriage as a means of getting ahead by Asa's wealth. Also, Asa was charismatic, attentive, and persuasive in his pursuit of women. He gave Samantha jewels, horses, and the ability to travel. And Samantha had been unlucky at love with men her own age, so she was open to exploring other ideas. So, it wasn't as gross as it would seem.
  10. In the premiere season they seemed to be playing on the assumption that a traumatic incident occurred the night of Jason Gioberti's death which triggered Emma to regress and need protection by Angela and Chao-Li. But, I believed that Emma had been more independent and higher functioning prior to Jason's death. Then, in later seasons when Emma never "recovered", there seemed to be a switch where her character was portrayed as having more of a developmental syndrome that had been exacerbated by traumatic events. Which explained why she never had children or sustained a romantic relationship with a partner who wasn't trying to use her for money or clout.
  11. That's a good point, because @Lust4Life76 comment is kind of like saying if you disagree with the government why don't you just start your own country. There are absolutely no consequences to fans discussing their opinions on a board. Nobody is suggesting actually harassing writers on social media. This is just a forum amongst viewers and if production chooses to follow along that is another bad decision on their part.
  12. I was trying to remember all of the times that Bo Buchanan went undercover in disguise. As I recall, he dressed up as the Prince of Mendorra (to save Sarah), a Middle Eastern businessman (to save Tina), and an Irish terrorist (to save Marty). Are there other costumes that I'm forgetting? As the chief of police for a small suburban town Bo certainly faced a lot of international intrigue...
  13. It feels like one of those times that the internet is intentionally disregarding an obvious joke. I know people value the history of Days, and disagree with the current direction. However, this tweet seems a bit more benign and undeserved of the vitriolic responses that it received. While I disagree with many of the creative decisions that he makes, I also think it is unfair how often his critics bring up his sexuality and other superfluous details about his motives for making those choices.
  14. It's amusing because the actual story does not confirm their divorce. It just says that they keeping breaking up and getting back together, which is kind of what I would expect from such a volatile couple. The whole crew are stuck in a delayed period of adolescence and I feel sorry for hard it must be to live in such a constant state of irritation and poorly formed egos.
  15. I just don't think the story is compelling enough to warrant this many versions in a variety of fiction and nonfiction formats. Also, I would hazard to guess that the missing variable in the story is drug use. Whenever someone is accused of a violent crime without sufficient motive, I always suspect that the common denominator is drugs. Certainly the late disco scene in Manhattan and Santa Monica was partially driven by easy access to cocaine. So, it would not surprise me if that was a part of the story that has been ignored. Writers might try to make it seem incredible or unique, but the reality is that it was about a man who may have suffered from addiction, as many others do, they just don't have the means or opportunity to enact their worst impulses that were warped by desperation and dependency.
  16. @Khan reminded me that A&E has a new series about this story and it astounds me how often it has been re-told. For a fairly simple murder-for-hire story whose culprit was caught quickly, this tale has been recycled more times than Kandi Muse's wig on Rupaul's Drag Race I recall the 2000 USA network version with Victor Webster. E! did a Murders and Mystery episode in the early 2000s. 20/20 had a recent episode about the case. There was a multi-part podcast "Welcome to Your Fantasy". There was documentary called "Just Can't Get Enough" as well as "The Curse of the Chippendales" on Amazon. And Dev Patel is signed to star in another movie version of the same story. Now, I like looking at a guy in collar, cuffs, and spandex pants as much as possible, but at this rate this plot has been told more often than the origin story of Spiderman!
  17. If the twist is at all related to Jack Marone, I will change my username to J Swift-Marone or start a soap psychic business; whichever is easier.
  18. Can someone jog my memory about Lance's father? I recall he was in a few episodes (played by Tony Franciosa, or a similar semi-famous rat-pack-adjacent prime time actor from the 60s?) (or his name was Tony Cumson, which is rather unfortunate and I can see why Julie went back to her maiden name?), (although I still giggle that Julia was named Dorcas in the original pilot, Dorcas Cumson is not a name that I would wish on my worst enemy). I don't recall why he broke up with Julia or what was his general story?
  19. See above - I just edited my comment and solved the case.
  20. Ridge Forrester is found run over in the parking lot of FC (the recast was never very popular). Brooke immediately thinks she did it while drunk. Sheila worries that she'll be suspected. Taylor covers for Thomas, who was unaccounted for at the time of the murder. Basically, every woman in LA has a motive, but who did it? And who stands to gain the most from the death of the heir apparent at Forrester? The twist It was Jack Marone. Fearing that he would loose the rights to Marone Industries upon the death of his father Nick, Jack ran over his uncle so that he could run the business all by himself. The long lost child of Brooke, Taylor, and Nick finally returns to Los Angeles...
  21. Apparently I don't watch any other daytime talk besides Kelly and Ryan (which I still refer to as Regis & Kelly in my head), because I had no idea Jerry Springer's court show was on for three seasons and The Real has changed hosts twice since Tamar left. But, I am interested in the changing faces/styles of daytime programming. Panel shows seem to be on the way out, single host celebrity driven shows are back in. Half hour game shows are failing. Controversy is out and life hacks are in. And, nobody is able to cover a single topic for a full hour. Until someone with a new vision comes on and upends the whole genre... I wonder how long Tamron will hang on? https://radaronline.com/p/the-real-canceled-fox-garcelle-adrienne-jeannie-loni/ https://deadline.com/2022/03/judge-jerry-canceled-jerry-springer-court-show-end-third-season-1234974835/
  22. As I recall That's Incredible owed 80% of its success to ithe voice over/promo guy. I don't know if it was ABC's Ernie Anderson or some other VO artist, but they could make the most banal story about someone who could fit into a small box seem like the most fascinating thing on the planet.
  23. I've never met anyone who saw it, I don't know where or when it aired in my area, and I may have forgotten that he even had a show. I think there was some press when his baby unfortunately passed, and I recall a random story about how he didn't like to see images of his body, but that's all that I know about this show. I guess it was time to make room for Jennifer Hudson to have a talk show that I may never see... https://pagesix.com/2022/03/09/nick-cannons-talk-show-canceled-after-just-six-months/
  24. You can forgive a viewer for making that error due to how invested Cassie was in maintaining Herb and Dorian's marriage. She was a bit obsessed given that she only met both of them a short while before they were married.
  25. Also from B&B, the initial reveal of Maya as a trans woman. I don't recall it being spoiled in advance, or even there being clues in advance of the revelation
