  1. I only followed that story in SOD because I was more a SB fan at the time, but didn't H.B. and Henry also both move to Springfield after their respective sons moved there in the 1980s? Making it impossible that they all knew each other, let alone went fishing together?
  2. I wondered if Chris Wallace will just get to take his huge check and retire to the Hamptons (where all network anchors go after TV), or if they'll make him pinch hit for Anderson when he takes a vacation? Meanwhile, I blame Alison Roman, she is a bad penny that could kill any project.
  3. I'd love to see/read/touch/(smell?) the original pitch for the character of Tony because he starts of as a sort of cad in contrast to Frisco and a spanner in the Tania relationship. Then, we read reports in @will81's soaps of yesteryear tumblr that there were rumors Brad Maule was getting fired early in his initial contract. Then, eventually, they hooked him to Bobbie and he played a mostly benevolent, bordering on boring guy, during the Stone story, until Carly comes along and shakes up his world. But, I wonder how he was originally conceived?
  4. I predict we'll see a character named Joyful on either Y&R or B&B in the next two years. Also, I can't believe that Hallmark is still around with a business plan based on people buying greeting cards at a mall to send by mail. It's like if Suncoast Music was still relying on people buying CD's in a store in order to fund a streaming service.
  5. I don't quite understand what you mean (except for the double entendre about the back gate). Are you saying that Hope made Alan buy a new house so that they didn't have to live in Brandon's house, and then retroactively that house became known as the Spaulding Mansion? Because I thought Alan grew up outside of Springfield, somewhere closer to Chicago, and moved there to start the computer division of Spaulding. Or, did you mean that Hope made Alan buy a new house after his marriage to Elizabeth was over? And she unfortunately shared a backyard with her Uncle. Which leads to the question of why the Spauldings didn't participate more often in the Bauer BBQ? I know Phillip and Alan-Michael attended, but one would think that the Spauldings would have more a historical association to the backyard shenanigans, given that they were neighbors for more than thirty years.
  6. Linda Gray was the best eyebrow actress since Joan Crawford.
  7. Gotcha, it is the setup for one of Gwen's tormentors to fall victim to a masked menace. In retrospect, it is kind of shame that they wrote Gwen into a corner, because her pairing with Xander had promise, and that age bracket needs a vile, but not murderous, antagonist to balance Gabi and give her more audience sympathy. Story idea: Ciara brings back the Countess Wilhelmina cosmetics line with a product to protect your complexion while wearing a latex mask, she makes a fortune, and Ben can stop pretending to try to get a job and just workout all day.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that I learned on this thread that the Spanish-style Bauer house was purchased by Ed during his upward mobility period while married to Rita, as it was in close proximity to the Spauldings, and thus explained how Phillip and Rick became friends. It certainly would have stuck out like a sore thumb among the tutor mansions of Springfield, but it had that 70s orange glow that was so popular on daytime. As I recall around the same time, on One Life to Live they started weaving in some Spanish architectural elements into the sets.
  9. Isn't there some concern that this isn't really Gwen aka the mask strikes again?
  10. I pictured @Soapsuds basement like this or this Come to think of it, including Pete, there's been an inordinate amount of striptease in Salem.
  11. Given Jackie Cox's moniker as the Persian Princess, it was a real missed opportunity that her entrance line wasn't, "Salaam Salem"
  12. Damn, these are increasing in value faster than crypto, I wish I had invested sooner
  13. Still brilliant, but agreed with @FrenchBug82 that this would never air today (thank goodness) Sue Ellen Ewing: Tell me, J.R., which slut are you going to stay with tonight? J.R. Ewing: What difference does it make? Whoever it is has got to be more interesting than the slut I'm looking at right now.
  14. I dunno know but, it feels like by paying Giuliani to appear last night, which will go straight to his defense fund, Fox is making an indirect political contribution to a crook who conspired against congress. It may be in poor taste to employ Sarah Palin, but it borders on supporting illegal activity when they pay someone who is currently under federal indictment.
  15. OK, but bonus points if anyone can tell me what happened to Beefcakes, the bar run by Madame DuPrix (aka Linda Anderson) where Pete Jennings worked as a stripper.
  16. These days they'd make Victoria Principal do a coda PSA about distracted driving. "Whether you're dreaming about your husband's death or your long lost half-sister is scheming to steal your man, always keep your eyes on the road." 🎼 We've got the touch, you and CBS...
  17. While I totally get your point about diversity in the hiring of producers for the Oscars, it is shame that race and not inexperience will be blamed. Packer had no business producing one of the biggest live events of the television season. I would assume he was hired because the ratings bombed last year, and few wanted to take on the job and be blamed for a further slide in ratings. However, he has never produced a live TV event, most his prior productions were relatively small, and he obviously had few relationships with historically acclaimed actors in Hollywood. By contrast, when Quincy Jones produced the Oscars, it looked amazing, Whoppi Goldberg's costumes were incredible, and it was only over time by less than half an hour.
  18. I would hazard to guess that the next step is a redemption arc for Craig, involving both Kayla and Chloe. Given the lack of creativity among the writers, it will be the stereotypical GBF teaching women to value their worth in relationships and will have nothing to do with Craig's personal growth or finding love. Both Ron and Jamey seem stuck in the My Best Friend's Wedding era of gay media wherein the only purpose of a gay character was to help straight women learn a lesson.
  19. On the face of it, Nene's suit for damages based on a hostile work environment would seem to be undercut by the fact that she has assaulted two co-workers on camera (Kim and the cameraman in her closet) and was not only still able to continue working, but reportedly was the highest paid housewife on Bravo.
  20. @Vee #4 has a high degree of difficulty but seeing this picture inspired the whole idea for my post. I promise he's not too obscure, but the hidden clue should be helpful
  21. Is it possible that this story takes place in the past? Like during the period when Bo and Hope were traveling the world on his boat the Fancy Face? That way nobody returns from the dead, the story doesn't have to be canonical to the series, and we can revisit favorite characters from the past. Both actors look great, so the time jump won't be that jarring, and it resolves a lot of issues.
  22. Given that Facebook is constantly suggesting that I become friends with former soap stars, I decided to come up with a game. Some actors are unrecognizable after their time on soaps, some look as if time has stopped. Using the spolier option (aka the eye in the upper portion of the reply) tell me your best guess for the following actors and the role for which they are best known. I added them in order of difficulty. First one to guess all four wins.
  23. I agree, although Mason's first "death" created an interesting alliance between Julia and Tori. SB was so bad at spreading the story and using the whole cast that they could have easily pretaped some Mason scenes, and sprinkled them about during the summer. Because even in the winter, there would be weeks when Julia appeared without Mason. And, it comes down to poor planning that they couldn't write a plot for Julia that didn't involve Mason (or her falling for her guilty clients). I had to look up The Most Dangerous Game to get your reference, I assume you are talking about when Cruz was stranded on the island or the prison escape with Robert and Cruz (I was thinking Isle of Dr Moreau)? Did the strike delay Cruz and Eden's wedding? Because if the WGA writers wrote the Pebble Beach wedding, they should have been kicked out of the union.
  24. I have a prediction that the next Ultimate Girl's Trip spinoff on Peacock is going to be cast with the over 21 year old daughters of various casts. Lead by Gia Guidice, and may include Shannon Beador's oldest, (RHoNY) Ramona's daughter, (RHoA) Cynthia's daughter, the grand dame of Potomac's little girl, and maybe one of (RHoBH) Kyle's daughters.
  25. I adore reading Lynda Hirsch's weekly summaries, but her editor is consistently the worst at catching errors Who's Janel, and why is Nancy taking off her wedding?
