Why don't Finn and Steffy have phones to call 911? This seems like one of those plots that depends on older viewers forgetting the common use of modern technology. Like why wouldn't Steffy have taken a picture of Sheila when she first saw her and post it on social media?

It took some minor googling, but of course, that's Barbara Garrick as nasty nurse Charlotte Wheaton (not to be confused with nasty Charlotte Waring, who was also killed - e.g. my repeating first names as a red flag for unpopular plots theory) Ms Garrick looks so familiar because she went on to play the iconic Allison Perkins on OLTL, and even with age, her voice and facial features remained memorable.

General Hospital: December 2022 Discussion Thread
Here's (one of) my problems with Carly; if she thinks she's justified in keeping Willow's maternity a secret, why not tell that to Drew? She is keeping this secret for no logical reason from her lover, it will obviously injure their relationship, he's going to be mad because Willow is sick (which he is keeping secret from Carly). So, they're both at fault not because of anything to do with Willow or Nina, but because they obviously don't trust each other enough to share confidences, so why is there any tension for audience in wanting to keep these two together?

Bill and Sheila are in the same room, so it can't be some sort of mask hoax, right? I know it's not DAYS, but if that's Deacon in a Bill mask, I may scream. Especially given Sheila's previous weak attempts at hiding her identity in public.

OK - here's an addendum, when Rory was attacked there was a discussion about using the venom antidote because the supply was running low and Rory's injury seemed fatal. So, what if Nikolas is attacked, they think he's saved, but then the antidote fails? That way MC (I abbreviated given your preference) would air in January, but be gone by the end of the month... He's notably absent from the preview which is why I suspect that he's next.

General Hospital: December 2022 Discussion Thread
After seeing the preview, my prediction once again is that Nikolas is going to get hooked for the new year, so Rudolf and Tyler can put away their 8x10s. (Does anyone still use an 8x10 in Hollywood?) My totally uninformed prediction is that Nikolas is going to get hooked, suspicion will fall on Esme, but Liz (and the audience) will know that she's innocent because we'll get a glimpse at the killer.

In the moral universe of soap justice it seems especially cruel that Lani is still in prison for shooting her drug pushing father in self-defense, while Gwen is at home making trifle after killing Laura in cold blood and gloating about it later to Abigail.

General Hospital: December 2022 Discussion Thread
GH had the unique fortune to tell stories about people being snowed in today during this "historic" frost across the east coast. I am certain they could not have predicted this kismet when they wrote the episodes months ago. While I am willing to suspend disbelief about Maxie and Spinelli both winding up in Canada, (although neither was appropriately costumed for the weather, and Maxie was flying private while Spinelli was flying commercial, but somehow they were in the same terminal), I feel nothing about the romantic pairing of those two characters because, historically, they were each other's backup plan rather than their end game.

ARTICLE: RUMOR REPORT: Which Performer is Causing a “Tense Situation” on Set?
My reasoning was that it must be difficult for Ari, who is younger than Dee and Lauren, so she's not at that vet status, despite her thirty years on the show, but older than her scene partners like Elia Cantu and Jessica, which must play on the eternal stress that aging has on actresses in Hollywood. The same could probably be said for Kelly Monaco or Laura Wright who are still playing romantic leads, even though their antagonists keep getting cast with younger women. And a mean soap editor is more likely to write about this issue as a conflict between women, rather than questioning why a genre watched by middle aged female fans can't find more creative plots for their actresses who are no longer ingenues. Excellent guess, and I adored that twist today My only hesitation about Maurice as #1 is - does a blind item count if the gossip is so widely discussed? It would be like saying. "don't tell anyone but DAYS likes to have their actors be shirtless at least once week" or blind item "which soap production can only afford to shoot in two sets per episode?" In fact, a thread on not-so-blind items would be a humorous way to celebrate this festive season

Y&R: Old Articles
Given the review of old soap news that @will81 posted a while back, I think we often underestimate the power of The Price is Right and its expansion to a full hour, especially pre-cable when most homes would leave their TV on one channel all day. Equally, I think we over estimate the appeal of single storylines to effect ratings. In my own experience, a single plot is not enough for me to tune into a new soap once my viewing pattern has been established, but I might tune back into a soap that I lost interest in if the story seems provocative. So, I don't think a smattering of commercials of Brad in cage is enough to lure new viewers, but it might make established fans tune in more often.

I would disagree, I think it is a perfect time to kill off Nikolas. First, it solidifies Victor as being so evil that he causes the death of his nephew in his pursuit of the Ice Princess, which has always been the Achilles heel of the Casadine family. Second, it elevates Spencer as the new heir to Wyndemere, giving him the same story opportunities that TC's Nikolas had in his early 20s. Third, if Ava has not signed the divorce papers by then, it sets up a natural conflict between Ava and Spencer, which will be an obstacle in his romance with Trina because her loyalties will be split. Which may be why this divorce has been going on so long. And forth, Esme's baby is another potential Cassadine heir, and provides her with a base of power and wealth. As much as it would be terrible for Laura to loose another child, I think they've properly set up Nikolas to be killed off. In fact, I think its been foreshadowed ever since Esme fell off the parapet.- All My Children Tribute Thread
I'm trying to recall if Ross was mentioned around the time of Palmer's funeral or if he was named in the will, because when Palmer was with Cynthia, he specifically added Ross as an heir. I vaguely recall SOD questioning if Ross would be freed from jail by the time that Palmer died (although I also don't remember if Ross's exit was to go to jail or if he just left town after Natalie's rape, as stated in the SoapCentral profile).- General Hospital: December 2022 Discussion Thread
I agree, he's a doctor but he doesn't seem to know where babies come from. Liz has been home from her parents and living at Wyndemere for less than a month, how could she already know she was pregnant, let alone be prescribed pre-natal vitamins? However, speaking of Liz at Wyndemere, doesn't she still need to take shifts at GH? And don't her kids needs some supervision at home? It's one thing to go off on a trip for a few days, but Liz seems to have left Aiden and Jake home alone for an awfully long time by now...- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I was just watching this clip of Jenna Ortega (aka Wednesday Adams on Netflix) on Days in 2013 when Kristen reflected on her childhood with her brother and it made me wonder - Did Peter ever meet Susan (or Sister Mary or Tommy)? I think he was recovering from his now multi-decade bout with Jungle Fever by the time EJ was conceived. But, given Susan's recent passing, and the retconned closeness of her relationship with both EJ and Johnny, it got me wondering if Peter mourned Susan's death? For the purposes of this discussion, I'll refrain from commenting on either the color of makeup they used on Miss Ortega, as well as the well documented reason that we never heard from Peter again in Salem. https://twitter.com/DAYSEpisodes/status/1604921570371461120?s=20&t=3tQ7WrhTsP2EXhH6HSjFUg https://twitter.com/eileen_davidson/status/1605050052199604225?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1605050052199604225|twgr^24b9e871fafb4be28022455764fd268acfae3a1e|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fiframe.nbcnews.com%2Fz3KE0cD%3F_showcaption%3Dtrueapp%3D1- B&B December 2022 Discussion Thread
I still question what happened to Bill and Li, it is odd that they weren't given any time to develop their relationship, because for once it was a fresh pairing on B&B. Especially now with this Sheila drama, it would be nice to give Li some vengeance.- Days: December 2022 Discussion Thread

Whenever someone brings up the character of Grace, as portrayed by Jennifer Gareis, I feel compelled to recall the way that Y&R played Sharon dirty. Gareis's recast coincided with the infamous story of Nick sleeping with Grace when he mistakenly thought it was Sharon in his bed. However, in order for that plot to be logical, we would have to believe that Nick was not face-to-face with his lover that evening. Thus, Y&R writers made the audience assume that Sharon prefers "it" from behind. A rather scandalous character trait that I associate with Sharon every time she has a love scene.- B&B December 2022 Discussion Thread
The devotion of Taylor's kids is what has always puzzled me on B&B. I get that parents who die when their kids are young are often exalted by their family. But, Taylor has slipped in and out of her kids lives, while Brooke has remained as a stable step-parent. So, Steffy and Thomas's rancor toward Brooke always seems a bit misguided. I could excuse Thomas, because he has always struggled with mental health issues. And, I assume the loss of Phoebe was traumatic for Steffy, which is her motivation in striving for a stable connection. But, Taylor has never been written as having her children be her first priority. When she returned after being kidnapped by Prince Omar, her first response was to check on Ridge, not her kids. She's never sought a legal settlement to ensure that her kids are given the same rights to FC as Brooke's kids, after Brooke got 52% of the company. She's missed more than one of her kid's weddings. And let's not talk about the way she dropped her IVF-conceived kid Jack like yesterday's lunch. So, why Steffy and Thomas continue to jeopardize their romances and careers for Taylor remains a mystery to me. - GH: actor already gone (character from major fam)
